Do You Gamble with God?

Also put the Urim and the Thummim in the breastpiece, so they may be over Aaron’s heart whenever he enters the presence of the LORD. Thus Aaron will always bear the means of making decisions for the Israelites over his heart before the LORD. Exodus 28:30

The Urim and the Thummim are of special interest. They were apparently two objects something like dice which were used in the casting of lots to determine the will of God.

Sometimes I ask God for a yes or no answer. I play solitaire on the computer. I say okay God if the answer is yes let me win three games in a row. After that I say okay God if the answer is yes let me lose three games in a row.
Sometimes I don’t like the answer, but in the long run it always develops that what He says is in my best interest. To have it work effectively you have to answer in sincerity and ALWAYS obey His decision and completely trust Him.

PRAY AND WAIT
I am not saying this is the only way to expect an answer from God, it is just one of the many I use.

I CERTAINLY do not use this method to promote gambling like:”Okay God, I’m going to gamble my wages at the casino. If you want me to be rich You will bless me with winning all the time.”That is a fools dream. You are not asking for direction in your life, you are asking your greed be satisfied, which with the gambling disease, it never will be.

Prayer: Please Jehovah Rohi (God our shepard) please guide me in the proper use of the wise tools You have blessed me with to understand Your choices in my life. In the name of the Great Shepard Jesus Christ we pray. Amen

May the sweet sunshine of Jesus’ love bless you today and every day

How to Beat the Sneak.

Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time. Luke 4:1 New King James Version

Satan is sneaky.

He does not charge into your mind, he is subtle and begins with just little thoughts. Then they become cemented into your mind and grow like cancer. Eventually they will consume you and you commit a sin.

To effectively defeat this creep use the best and only weapon available to you to soundly defeat him very time.

Carry a Bible verse with you constantly and when the scumbag comes just pull out that verse and with power and authority shove it tight down his throat. Then for the finale inform him that you belong to Jesus so just take a hike. Say it with conviction.

Thoughts become habits so surround yourself with Godly thoughts.

To accomplish this listen to sermons on sermonaudio.com (I like to listen to Allister Begg, A.W. Tozer and Spurgeon.) every day, read Christian devotionals like http://www.actsweb.org and Our Daily Bread listen to Christian radio like http://www.joyfmonline.org and http://www.praise1065.com.

THE LORD WILL ANSWER

Pray to Jesus to reveal to you your bad habits and the method of defeating them.

Sometimes they are too strong for you and can only be defeated by completely surrendering them to Jesus.

As well think of the things that are triggers and avoid them like the plague. So if you are an alcoholic you need to avoid your drinking buddies and do not even walk down the streets with the bars you used to hang out at.

That is what happened to me with my addiction to alcohol. It was too strong for me and the only way to defeat it was through completely surrendering it to Christ. It was defeated that instant.   That does not mean that satan does not still try his sneaky little tricks but I have the protection of the Holy Spirit to resist him.

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Yeshua (God our protector) for the most powerful protection against the most devious liar and thief Lucifer. Your most awesome protection of this child that belongs to You has rescued me from the Highway to Hell and leads me on the difficult Pathway to Heaven. I in deep gratitude extol You in the name of my strong King who defeated our nemesis once and for all on the cross Jesus Christ . Amen.

May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.

Do You Allow the Investigation?

Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting. Psalms 139:23-24 New King James Version

Do you seriously ask Jesus to reveal to you anything that is not in harmony with the teaching in the Bible ?
When it is revealed to you do you ask the Lord to show you how to correct the problem? If the problem is too big for you (pile an addiction) do you humbly, sincerely place it at the feet of Christ to correct the problem?

When He gracefully answers your prayers, do you thank Him for it?

I know I have and do every day.

Sometimes it is a real struggle, but on the other end of it I am very grateful to Christ for His gift of removing  the dross from me or molding me into being a better servant for Him. It may take a moment, it may take weeks it may take months or years but persevere and it is worth it.

MEDITATE ON THE BOOK

How is He going to teach you?

The number one method is by daily Bible reading, and praying. Having Christian councilors available and asking their help, listening to them and obeying them is another.

Of course another important tool s listening to sermons online at places like audiosermons/com and oneplace.com.

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Hosanna (God our maker) for being so patient and perseverance with molding and drossing me, Your beloved child, to become the child You desire me to be. I joyfully, gratefully praise You in the name of He who is Your perfect child and my role model Jesus Christ. Amen.

May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.

Tell It and Then Walk Away

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” Matthew 7:24-27 New International Version.

The interesting thing about this story is that Jesus told a simple and easy to understand parable so everybody could understand what He was saying. At the end of it He just got up and walked away. I believe He did this to give the people time to digest what He was saying.

Now that was not the end of it though.

After His resurrection when His disciples came sharing His story the people were more receptive to accepting it.

SHARE THE WORD

So too it is with us

When we share the story with people of Jesus why not make it as simple as possible for them to understand the message and then just leave them alone to think about it?

Do not try to get them to accept Jesus right then and there. That is a huge mistake too many Christians make. Do not use pressure tactics. Jesus never did, why should you?

If they are receptive, the Holy Spirit will guide them to where they can learn more. Maybe it will be you, maybe someone else.

If they are not receptive to Jesus’ story they will not listen anyway and it is a waste of both your time and usually ends up with nothing but frustration on both parties’ behalf.

I have met too many people that just at the mention of Jesus’ name it is an instant turn off because of the pressure tactics that was tried on them previously.

Not only that but maybe they are not ready to accept Jesus just then.

Prayer: Please Jesus Pryyand (Jesus my friend) guide me on how to share you with others and the best time to just walk away. I sincerely ask this in Your loving name. Amen

May the sweet sunshine of Jesus’ precious love bless you today and every day.

Be Careful of the Fall

“If you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! 1 Corinthians 10:12 New International Version.

When I first became a Christian I naively believed I could take on Satan and win. I was standing on the firm ground of my conviction to Christ. Satan laughed. “Come on”, he said “have a beer.” Being an alcoholic I foolishly mistakenly believed I could take him on and win. I woke up in the morning surrounded by empty beer bottles.

Satan came a calling. “Look at you, calling yourself a Christian yet you got drunk last night. Christ is ashamed of you. How can you call yourself a Christian?”

Deep shame enveloped me as my heart cried out in deep painful shame my sorrow.

The Holy Spirit came and calmed me down assuring me that repentance brings forgiveness.

It was a lesson never forgot.

Do not ever be cock sure of yourself and say I would never do this or I am going to do that.

THE LORD WILL ANSWER

The wise man or woman instead says by Gods grace I will do this or not do that. And then, depend upon God, not self.

Prayer: Please Jehovah Elohim (God our creator) create in me a humble heart that is not overconfident so as to be susceptible to Satan’s pray. I meekly request this in the true rock solid foundation Jesus Christ. Amen.

May the sweet sunshine of Jesus’ precious love bless you today and every day.

The Strawberries and the Lemons

How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. Psalm 36:7 New King James Version

The greatest love is the loving relationship with God.

The opposite of love is hate, anger, bitterness and greed. That comes from both Satan an from living for yourself.

Love is the strawberries, hate and self centeredness is the lemons.

Which do you feast upon every day?

When you have the love of God in your heart you are blessed with peace.

CHRIST'S LOVE BLOSSOM IN YOUR HEART

The opposite of peace is worry, frustration and fighting. That comes from Satan and being self centered.

Peace is the strawberries, the opposite is the lemons.

Which do you feast upon every day?

Joy is spiritual not emotional. It is the most fantastic experience ever. When you have the love of God on your life and the peace of God in your heart you have joy in your heart.

The opposite of joy is sadness and depression. That comes from Satan.

Joy is the strawberries, the opposite is the lemons.

Which do you feast upon every day?

Prayer: Please Jehovah Chanan (God is gracious) guide me to emulate Your sweet and precious love to a cold and hurting world. I graciously request this in the name that represents the sweetest love Jesus Christ. Amen

May the sweet sunshine of Jesus’ precious love bless you today and every day.

Why do You Think That Is?

The Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. John 14:17 New King James Version

Why do you think that is?

Why do you think the world does not see the Holy Spirit nor knows Him?

I do not believe the world cannot see the Holy Spirit but rather rejects His work.

How many folks see a beautiful sunrise or sunset and give credit to “Mother Nature”?

Do they truly believe there is such a thing as “Mother Nature” or would they prefer to give credit to some fictitious creation of man rather than give credit to Jehovah?

How many are so busy worshipping “idols” like music stars, sports stars or movie stars rather than worship Jehovah. Because of this they ignore His amazing music like crickets or thunder or the soft serenade of waves lapping at the shore. Because of this they cannot see the handiwork of the Holy Spirit.

Can you think of any other ways folks ignore the works of the Holy Spirit when He is so visible all around them?

Now we are different.

When we accept Christ in our lives we feel the joy that can only be felt by the Holy Spirit. We feel Him inside of us.

FOLLOWING CHRIST

How many times does He convict us when we go wrong?

How many times does He reassure us during the storms of our lives?

The Holy Spirit is my guidance councilor, teacher, comforter, healer, strengthener, provider and protector. Joseph- Anthony: Green Think about each of these titles and then think of how the Holy Spirit has accomplished each of these in your lives.

Why not remember that and thank Him in your morning and evening prayers?

I do.

He has accomplished amazing things in my life and through my life. There were so many events in my life (especially through the trials and tribulations, sorrows and snares) that I would never have made it with out Him.

Whenever I try to share this with those in the world they laugh and me like I was crazy but we will see who is crazy on the judgment day. That is because they do not see Him nor know Him.

But, we do, don’t we?

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Immanuel (God is with us) for the amazing blessing of the Holy Spirit who has so graciously revealed You in so many awesome ways in my life. Thank you the most treasured guidance councilor, teacher, comforter, healer, strengthener, provider and protector ever. I praise You in the name of He who made this blessing possible with His blood on the cross Jesus Christ. Amen.

May the sweet sunshine of Jesus’ beautiful love bless you today and every day.

My Inspiration, Power, Motivation, and Hero

“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. Isaiah 43: 1 New International Version

Who has a more divine influence on my life than Jesus?

JESUS' GUIDANCE

Reading your love letter to me, by the grace of the Holy Spirit, you reveal yourself to me, the relationship you want to bless me with in communion with you and Your marvelous plan for my life in service to you.

Inspiration: a divine influence or action on a person believed to qualify him or her to receive and communicate sacred revelation

What better motivation do I need to live the live you have prepared for me than to experience the influence your holy word has on me and in me?

Motivation: motivating force, stimulus, or influence

Is there anyone or thing that has more power to mold me into the beautiful creation you intend on me being?
What hero can match your incredible gift of the sacrifice you made for me on the cross? What hero has conquered death? What hero has prepared such an amazing home for me?

Is there any who can compare to you?

Not in my life or in my heart.

Prayer: Thank you Jesus Pryyand (Jesus my friend) for being the most awesome friend there ever could be. I gratefully thank You in Your beautifully loving name. Amen

May the sweet sunshine of Jesus’ precious love bless you today and every day.

We Shall Reap.

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Galatians 6:9 New King James Version

We all go through it don’t we?

We all go though those times when it seems as if there is no progress in our service unto Jehovah. We wonder if we are doing any good. Trust me from my experience we will be shocked when we get to Heaven how many are there because of the words or actions we took in this life. When I was a teacher in Asia I would live the Christian life and freely talk about walking the Christian walk when they curiously asked me why I was different from the other teachers. Most laughed at me and I wondered if I was getting through to any at all. It was very difficult. At the end of the semester there would always be a handful of students that quietly came to me and informed me that they accepted Jesus into their lives because of my example. Oh did my heart ever jump for joy. I often wonder how many accepted Jesus later on in life because of the seeds I sowed. We may not see the harvest of our planting in this life but please do not ever give up planting those seeds.

We also wonder what will happen to us as we age and have no money set aside for retirement because we have spent a lifetime in service to Christ.

I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken. Psalm 37:25 New King James Version

GOD PROVIDES

Now in my elder years this is my rock of hope that is my mantra. Folks ask me what is going to happen in a few years because I have no money set aside (The funny thing is that every time I saved a nice little nest egg something would come around and wipe it out. I believe Jehovah did this to keep me dependent upon Him instead of being dependent upon a retirement fund.) to depend upon in retirement.

I firmly believe in the saying: “What goes around will come around.”   Even stronger is my believe that Jehovah God is real and that I am His child. What father would not take care of their child?

The same goes for Jesus. I have spent over thirty years faithfully serving Him. I strongly believe He will always take care of me.

I pray this article has been of comfort and strength to all in the service of our Heavenly King.

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah-Chatsahi (The Lord is my Strength) for blessing me with Your divine strength, comfort, encouragement, peace, love and joy as I humbly serve You. Thank you for promising to care for me in my elder years and look forward to seeing the beautiful flowers that I have sown in my service to You. I exalt You in the name of He who served You so admirably here on earth in His ministry Jesus Christ. Amen.

May the sweet sunshine of Jesus’ beautiful love bless you today and every day.

How are Your Ears?

Many people today do as they please and say there is no god.

Yet, if they sit in quietness a small quiet voice will come to them.

No, that is not their conscience that is the Holy Spirit speaking to them informing them that what they are doing is wrong or that they need to do something and they refuse to listen so they drown it out with noise.

Think of a boy who refuses to do his homework. He knows he should be doing it but refuses to. His father sits him down at the dinner table to discuss it with him. The boy cannot hear his father because he is listening to his mp3. When the boy’s father tells him to turn it off so they can talk, the boy screams: “I will not listen; I will do what I want!!” So too it is with people who cannot stand being in a quiet environment. It is because it is there the Holy Spirit will come in a small voice and talk with them but they refuse to listen.

                                                               MY HEART LEAPED

And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. 1 Kings 19:11 King James Version

Prayer: Please Jehovah KalEl (Jehovah voice of God) bless me to always be attentive to Your soft but authorative voice. I modestly request this in the softest but strongest voice of Jesus Christ. Amen.

May the sweet sunshine of Jesus’ precious love bless you today and every day.
