Born Crucified, yet Alive in Christ

The Christian life is a daily putting off all that belonged to the unregenerate old self and constantly putting on all that belongs to the new life in Christ. The cross and the resurrection extend their power and influence over the believer’s entire life.

The Christian life is constantly producing new life. This new life in Christ through His Spirit must be daily replacing within the soul what our daily crucifixion of the flesh is taking away. This new life in Christ fills the emptiness created by self-denial with some new likeness of Christ. In place of the natural affection, there comes some new divine affection (Eph. 4:17-32).

“You are dead . . . . you are risen with Christ” (Col. 3:1, 6).

The flesh will never produce a strong spiritual life that pleases God and looks and smells like authentic Christianity. The flesh will always disgrace the Lord Jesus Christ no matter how you try to dress it up in legalism.

The Holy Spirit is busy making real in the believer’s life what is already true of him doctrinally.

The believer has not only died, but is to “die daily” with Christ as long as we live in this present life because we are in “an irreconcilable enmity” between the flesh and the spirit (Gal. 5:17). We have no option but to take up the cross daily in following Christ. The flesh can only reproduce itself. It holds no possibility of a divine life. This dying to self and sin is something we do daily.

Our life-long growth in Christ-likeness is a determination to deliver us to death for Christ’s sake all that is kin to our old life before we gave our lives to Christ. It is also a commitment to put on Christ daily.

It is each believer’s responsibility to submit to the work of the Holy Spirit in mortifying the flesh and therefore bring our body under the dominion of the cross of Christ.

Moreover, the Christian life is not just a life of crucifixion; it is also a new life in Christ Jesus.

“You are risen with Christ.” This is the second part of this essential doctrine of Christian living. Our progressive sanctification includes both “taking off” the old self and “putting on” the new. Since “you are risen with Christ” keep on “seeking those things which are above.”

Yes, we “die daily,” but we were also made a “new creation” in Christ and our inward person is being “renewed day by day.”

The apostle Paul wrote, “I live, yet not I, but Christ lives in me” (Gal. 2:20).

The daily spiritual growth of the Christian towards perfection lies always in these two opposite directions. The believer is always subjecting, repressing, and mortifying the natural man on the one hand, and nourishing, developing, and renewing the spiritual man on the other. It is not one or the other; it is both principles and activities working in conjunction with one another.

It is our responsibility to daily judge and mortify all that we find in our attitudes, behaviors and values that are in the flesh and contrary to authentic Christian living. Yes, there must be a daily denial to anything that is not Christ-like.

A negative process is never adequate to accomplish a positive goal. And no amount or kind of self-denial can make a person holier, or sinless. What is needed is the means of bringing him into more intimate fellowship with Christ. Every retreat from the life of the flesh must be followed by a deeper entering into the life of the Spirit. We take off the old man, and we put on the new man in Christ.

As we abide in Christ, we walk as our Lord walked.

It does not matter if you are working at a fast food restaurant or are a nurse or if you are a garbage man or a police officer. When you are a Christian, your boss is the same. His name is Jesus.

Now, there are going to be times when you must say no to a physical bosses directive because it goes against Christs principles. To be sure you are going to suffer but it does not compare to the reward Christ lavishes upon you when You obey Him rather than man. It may not be an immediate reward and you may not even be rewarded until you reach Heavens Gate but Christ promises rewards to loyal servants and He never lies.

On the flip side of the coin, you may not be appreciated and even be abused by your employer. Take comfort in knowing that your reward will be just as great by Jesus because you persevered.

Great suffering for standing upon Christs principals is rewarded by even greater reward by Christ in His Heavenly home. Joseph a son of Jehovah

Prayer: Thank you Jesus Emunah (God is faithful 1 John 1:9, 2 Thessalonians 3:3 ) that You are true to Your word to this humble devoted servant and I shall receive my reward if not in this life here and now then in eternity with You in Heaven for being Your obedient servant. I Was Pressured Greatly To

Being a bit of an old geezer, I have seen oh so many fads come and go.

There was the hippy generation, the disco generation, the punk generation, and I have no idea what the generations from the nine teen nineties are called.

During one of them I was pressured greatly to conform to their lifestyle. I was bullied and laughed at a lot because of my refusal to join in the fun times.

It is interesting to see them now. They realize that lifestyle was meaningless.

Reflecting back on my walk with Christ in that time there are moments of pure ecstasy, there were many moments of suffering which brought me ever closer into Christ’s loving arm and engaged my trust in Him my adoration in Him, my love for Him and my dedication in service unto Him. This was good and pleasing unto my cherished Father in Heaven, King in Heaven and amazing tutor ( The Holy Spirit ) .

Mind you, this transformation will continue even in our Heavenly Home so do not think you are a finished product.

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2 The Holy Bible, The New Living Translation

We are Still Stewards

 The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it. Genesis 2:15 Holy Bible, New Living Translation

Now, even though we are not in the Garden of Eden we are still stewards of Jehovahs creation.

One day early this spring while riding my bicycle down a country road the Lord guided my attention to how filthy the side of the road was and reminded me that as a Christian I am a caretaker of Jehovahs creation. He inspired me to go midweek with some garbage bags and start to clean up all the rubbish on the side of the road. It was incredible the amount that was collected in a short distance. I made a commitment to return one day a week and continue down the road until it was all cleaned up.

“You must not defile the land where you live, for I live there myself. I am the Lord, who lives among the people of Israel.” Numbers 35:34 Holy Bible, New Living Translation

After about a month, it rained out on the scheduled clean up day. A couple of days later when riding down the road to get some supplies for our garden the Lord directed my attention to the side of the road. It was spotless. That means someone or group noticed the work done, how it looked good and how bad the uncleaned part looked. They took the initiative and cleaned it up.

Many times we can lead by example in life with out even realizing it. Joseph a son of Jehovah

You yourself must be an example to them by doing good works of every kind. Titus 2:7 Holy Bible, New Living Translation

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Bore (Isaiah 40:28) The LORD Creator for blessing me with helpers to restore some of Your creation to the beauty You created to be. I exalt You in the name of He who will restore all of creation to its original beauty upon His victorious return Jesus Christ. Amen

So How’s That Going Now Eh?

“Am I now trying to win the approval of men or of God? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ” Galatians 1:10 New International; Version.

I remember in the sixties and seventies when the mantra was: sex, drugs and rock and roll. Being an infant in Christ I knew this was wrong and refused to go along with the crowd. Yes I was laughed at and bullied a lot, but still wouldn’t back down.

Now over forty years later when I go back home sometimes I run into that crowd. Boy do they look ancient. Their bodies are all broken down from living in the fast lane. They are shells of human beings. They have no family or real friends. They have no real purpose in life, yet stubbornly cling to those destructive dogmas. Many of them are either homeless or living in decrepit buildings.  I look at them and ask them: “So how’s that going now eh, with your sex, drugs and rock and roll?” 

It is not that I am being arrogant towards them but am asking if they have had enough of this life and am willing to come to Christ. They all laugh and are proud of their lifestyle (although I do not know why) and mock me for being a Christian.

No man is free who is a slave to the flesh. Seneca

I on the other hand have slowly over decades  blossomed into a beautiful flower for Christ. Yes my service to Him has been hard, but He was and is with me every step of the way. We have planted a lot of seeds all over the world. Walking with Jesus brings a life filled with divine love, joy and hope.

If someone is trying to manipulate you into doing drugs or having premarital sex don’t walk away from them, RUN.

As surely as the sun rises is the east so too will the vile wickeds lifestyle lead to pain, emptiness, heartache and loneliness. Joseph a son of Jehovah

Take it from an old fart that has both lived it and seen it. You are too precious to Jesus to throw your life away.

”If we (freely) admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins (dismiss our lawlessness) and (continuously) cleanse us from all unrighteousness (everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action)” 1 John 1:9 The Holy Bible, The New Living Translation

If you are living that lifestyle now call out to Jesus now. He is always there, He always cares. He loves you.

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him firm in your faith, the God of all grace, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.” 1 Peter 5: 6-10 The Holy Bible, The New Living Translation

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah-Tsidkenu (The Lord is Righteousness) I Cor 1:30 for blessing me with the wisdom of what is righteous and the strength to walk in its path and to not deviate from it. Thank you for being so gracious as to forgive me when I stray from that path and realize it and repent You eagerly help me to regain my footing upon the Path of Righteousness. I exalt You in the name of He who is the epitimy of righteousness Jesus Christ. Amen

The Only One Who

Have you ever wondered why it seems as if everyone is angry at something these days?

Have you noticed how folks are always changing their jobs so much these days?

Have you ever wondered why folks are such addicts to sports teams, movie stars and musicians these days (it has always existed but no where near to the level it is at today)?

I believe the reason is because they have no purpose in their lives so they try to find purpose in sports teams, musicians, movie stars and participating in charitable events they do not have their heart in to. Of course they find no real meaning to their lives.

The only one who can accomplish that is Jesus.

Without purpose life has no meaning, it is trivial, pointless and petty. Jesus is the only one who blesses us with purpose here in this life and in the eternal one that is to come. Joseph a son of Jehovah

So, why do most folks refuse to go to Jesus for meaning and purpose in their lives?

Because they are too arrogant, selfish and stubborn to surrender their will to Christs. They regret in now but will really regret in in their final destination which is Hell.

Prayer: Thank you Jesus Helech ‘Olam (The Lord our King Forever) Psalm 10:16 for blessing me with purpose, meaning and fulfillment in my life. That of course is to be Your humble servant. I praise You in Your majestic name. Amen

My Climate Recipe

You gave them charge of everything you made, putting all things under their authority the flocks and the herds and all the wild animals, the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea, and everything that swims the ocean currents. Psalm 8:6-8 The Holy Bible, New Living Testament   personal hygiene

Recently we are constantly being bombarded on TV news with segments about these so called “climate activists” concerned about the rising temperatures.

Okay, if you are so concerned about climate change here is my climate recipe: Instead of using soap to wash yourselves with why not use a body brush. In my opinion (and I have successfully being using them for decades now) it does a better job than soap. Talking about showers or baths , how about you only have one bath every other day. I do and there is no body odor to me. personal  routine

Instead of using commercial underarm deodorant (which is harmful to your body in my opinion) why not use earth crystals which can be purchased at a health food store (yes, they are expensive but they also last for years compared to how long the commercial ones last).

Instead of using dish washing detergent why not use salt? Again, I have been doing this for years and the iodine in the salt kills the germs. While we are at it, instead of using a dishwasher why not try the old hand washing? I have never gotten sick from it.

Instead of using laundry detergent why not use baking soda? Again, I have been doing these things for decades now with no adverse effects. Instead of using the dryer why not hang up your clothes to dry? Please no immature cry babies complaining because they see their neighbors underwear. We did it for decades with no adverse affect on others so stop being so self righteous and grow up.

Instead of using fast food restaurant cutlery (throw away drinking cup and wrappers why not take in reusable containers? It is reusable so nothing is going in a landfill.

In the nice weather , if you live in a town, why not bicycle or walk to and from work? This is also a great way to relieve stress. Instead of clogging up the highways driving to and from work why not take the bus or train?

Instead of buying clothing made of polyester why not buy clothes made from wool and or cotton?

Why not grow a raised garden in your backyard or on your balcony? Why not have two rain barrels at each rain spout on your house? These will not only catch the rain and help prevent flooding but can also be used to water your garden and lawn which puts less stress on the town water supply and purification stations? Instead of using pesticides why not use organic pesticides like garlic and marigold? I do it and it works great for all kinds of pests and you get to eat fresh grown organic.

These are but a few tips to help keep our planet (and it is a planet not “mother earth, which is a cultist stupid word for our planet. It is giving a fictitious female a deity of worshiping her instead of the Creator of the earth which is satnic).

I bet most of you will not do these.

You know why?

Because, you are too lazy and do not want to make the commitment.

So instead of being self righteous and using climate change as an excuse to pump of your own over inflated ego why not get off your butts and put your money where your mouth is or shut up.

We are care takers of this planet not owners. Joseph a son of Jehovah

Please help others take up the same banner to help heal this planet which we were given to be care takers of. I humbly request this in the name of He who will reign on this planet after it has been healed Jesus Christ. Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared Revelation 21:1Holy Bible, New Living Testament Amen

Notice it says continually.

Have you ever seen a chicken after its head has been chopped off ( those who grew up on a farm fifty years ago know what I am referring to, sorry if it offends you city slickers) ? The chickens body flows and runs all around the place for a minute or two.

How many of us do this when unexpected problems or catastrophes slam into us?

I know in my early walk with Christ this occurred many times at the slightest incident. Now when the event first occurs there is the initial shock and worry but I do as the Holy Spirit has trained me to do over many decades: I take it to the Lord in prayer and trust His providence to see me through, that is what faith is. This only becomes second nature because of continuous daily communion with Him.

He Divinely guides most of my every moves. I say most because there are moments in all of our lives where we surrender to selfish fleshly desires.

He always provides me with strength to accomplish the daily tasks He assigns us and yes He does assign us daily tasks as every King does his servants.

Just as Christ is our Heavenly King, so too are we His earthly servants. Joseph son of Jehovah.

The more we experience this the stronger our trust in Him to provide for and protect us in our disasters.

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah ‘Immeku (The Lord Is With You) for blessing me continuously with Your wonderful presence every moment of my life. I cherish our communion together. Thank you for walking with me through the many trials and tribulations experienced in my walk with You and for walking with me through my crucifixion, being put through the furnace to burn off the dross. I know these event were necessary and that they would have been impossible to accomplish if You were not there with me. I exalt You in the name of He who blessed all He spent time with as He walked amongst us Jesus CHRIST. Amen.

May the gentle assurance of Jesus’ sweet love encompass you today and every day.
