Christ Our Redemption

In the wisdom of God, the plan of salvation was fully accomplished by the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.   Such wisdom is hidden from the wise and learned of the world, but it revealed to the humble believer of Christ.

Christ alone personified the wisdom of God. “But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, so that, just as it is written, ‘Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord’” (1 Corinthians 1:30-31, NASB 1995).

Christ is our redemption.  From the moment we put out faith in Jesus Christ alone to save us, we were “Sealed unto the day of redemption” (Eph. 4:30). We already have the “first fruits of the Spirit” as we wait the redemption of our body (Rom. 8:23).

The wisdom puts to shame the high and mighty people of the world.  The wise men of the world cannot understand how God’s grace in Jesus Christ changes sinners into saints. The mighty men of the world see the grace of God as foolishness and weakness (I Cor. 1:25-29).

God in His grace changes lives when they accept His wisdom and believe on Jesus Christ as their Savior.

Salvation must be all of grace so that He alone gets all the glory. “We are made righteous, holy, and redeemed in Christ Jesus.  Redemption comes here last for emphasis through the very foundation of righteousness and sanctification,” notes A. T. Roberson.  We are “Justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus” (Rom. 3:24).  God has ransomed setting free the person enslaved in sin.

There is a sense in which the believer is redeemed the very moment he believes on Christ as his Savior.  But there is also the greater expectation that our redemption will not be complete in its fullest sense until the work of God is perfected in him or her.

We are now hidden with Christ in God, and our redemption will come to consummation when Christ returns in glory (I Thess. 4:17).  At that time “We shall also bear the image of the heavenly” (I Cor. 15:49).  We shall be glorified with Him.

Yes, our redemption is our present possession (Eph. 1:7Col. 1:14).  We enjoy forgiveness of all our sins, and we have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit as the first fruits and down payment of greater things to come. The full renewal and reward of our redemption is yet to come at the last day.

The foundation and basis for these great events is the death of Jesus Christ as our ransom (Mark 10:45). Christ came “To give His life as a ransom for many.”  The meaning is Jesus paid the price for a slave who is then set free by the one who bought him.  Jesus gave His own life as the price to purchase our freedom from the slaves of sin.

Jesus vicariously suffered death on behalf of the many who have fallen victim to death.  His death was the ransom payment to redeem us (I Pet. 1:18-19).  Christ “Gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity” (Titus 2:14).

The word “redemption” here probably embraces the totality of Christ’s work of salvation of the sinner. It embraces rescuing men from sin and Satan by the payment of Christ, and it extends to the believer’s final resurrection and glorification.  It looks back upon the cross to the blood that bought our freedom, justification (Rom. 3:24), sanctification (Heb. 10:10), and forward to our resurrection and glorification (Rom. 8:23Eph. 1:144:30).

Who Gives Generously To

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to pursue your wisdom and to obey you.

Thank you for teaching me to respond according to biblical principles, and enabling me to become the child that you want me to be.

I humbly request this in the name of He who influenced the twelve to turn the world upside down Jesus Christ Amen.

Depend Upon His Strength To

Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Ephesians 6:10 The Holy Bible, The New Living Translation

To be strong in the Lord means to make Him your power source.

Depend upon His strength to get you through the day when you feel like you do not have the strength to blow your nose.

Depend upon His power to stand up and speak with wisdom and grace when you see or hear something morally wrong.

Depend upon His power when someone is annoying you so bad you want to strangle them.

Depend upon His strength when you see someone intentionally doing something that will hurt them and they ignore your warning. Especially, if this is a repeated habit ( I have learned to just walk away and tell them their is a reward for their arrogance and stupidity . I do not want to see the disaster or hear them blame everyone but themselves ).

Depend upon His strength and power when temptation is overwhelming you.

Can you think of any other times to call upon the Lord?

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Elohe Mauzi (Psalms 43:2 GOD of My Strength ) for blessing me with Your Divine power and strength to stand up and defend the weak and to defeat the tempter. I praise You in the name of He who had the strength to suffer on that bloody cross and the power to resist the tempter, Jesus Christ. Amen

May you have a grateful heart towards He who has given so much to you. indeovi vas ( may you live with Jesus in Latin )

I am with You Always

Last night I woke up with 3 spirits, like glowing blankets, hovering above me saying be of good cheer for God is always with you.

And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20 The Holy Bible, The New Living Testament

Later had a dream about rats trying to viciously attack me but there was a red blanket hovering above me protecting me.

Whenever I saw or dreamt about rats in China something bad would happen that day.

Then read this verse with morning devotionals.

Though I am surrounded by troubles, you will protect me from the anger of my enemies. You reach out your hand, and the power of your right hand saves me. Psalm 138:7 The Holy Bible, The New Living Testament

But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. Romans 1:18–20 The Holy Bible, The New Living Testament

As well there was a verse that said that Gods promises are always true.

God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says 1 Corinthians 1:9 The Holy Bible, The New Living Testament

Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous.
Yes, wait patiently for the Lord. Psalm 27:14 The Holy Bible, The New Living Testament

Another devotional said to wait upon Gods time for His promises to come true. There are promises He made to me five years ago that have no fruition.

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. James 1:5 The Holy Bible, The New Living Testament

The last devotions was about asking for wisdom. This is one of the important requests made in every morning prayer ( which is the best course first thing in the morning instead of waiting for circumstances to occur where we cry out for it.

Gee, I wonder if Poppa was trying to tell me something? What do you think?

Selah: Stop and think about it. Prayer: Thank you Jehovah El Shaddai (Genesis 17:1,2, Ezekiel 10:5 Almighty GOD ) that no one nor nothing can stand before You nor above You with wicked intent.

Thank you that You are a God of integrity and are always true to Your word. Even though many times it is difficult to wait I have learned that it is best to wait upon Your time for Your promises to come to fruition. To do otherwise invites disaster.

I praise You in the name of He who is above all other and is truest to His word Jesus Christ. Amen

If I Had to Live My Life Over Again

Someone asked me the other day if I had my life to live over would I change anything.

My answer was no, but then I thought about it and changed my mind.

If I had my life to live over again I would have waxed less and listened more.

Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy and complaining about the shadow over my feet, I’d have cherished every minute of it and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was to be my only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.

I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.

I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained and the sofa faded.

I would have eaten popcorn in the “good” living room and worried less about the dirt when you lit the fireplace.

I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.

I would have burnt the pink candle that was sculptured like a rose before it melted while being stored.

I would have sat cross-legged on the lawn with my children and never worried about grass stains.

I would have cried and laughed less while watching television … and more while watching real life.

I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband which I took for granted.

I would have eaten less cottage cheese and more ice cream.

I would have gone to bed when I was sick, instead of pretending the Earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren’t there for a day.

I would never have bought ANYTHING just because it was practical/wouldn’t show soil/ guaranteed to last a lifetime.

When my child kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, “Later. Now, go get washed up for dinner.”

There would have been more I love yous … more I’m sorrys … more I’m listenings … but mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute of it … look at it and really see it … try it on … live it … exhaust it … and never give that minute back until there was nothing left of it.”
