Start With A

Start with a Psalm a day, then move to a Proverb and day and end with reading Matthew chapters 5,6 and seven a day.

Begin by asking The Holy Spirit to speak to you through these.

Write down what He says.

Read it back to yourself at the completion and you will be amazed at what He is tutoring you in your walk with Christ. Joseph- Anthony a son of Jehovah

To Guide You to Someone Who

Today I am grateful for the counselling Chris Reese gave on youtube about how God refuses to allow us to forget our painful past. He uses it to help others.

I grew up in a very abusive family and could not forget it.

Fast forward to when I was a tree planter twenty years later. At the beginning of the season some would gather around a camp fire and the conversation would always turn out to be about who was abused the worse in their childhood. After everybody finished I would stand up and share my childhood experiences. Needless to say no one could compare to mine. Then over time some of them would come and slowly open up to me. There was a lot of hugs, tears and healing.

The same thing happened in China when teaching.

Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2 The Holy Bible, The New Living Translation

So, do not beat yourself up because you cannot forget painful experience.

But, rather ask Jehovah to send The Holy Spirit to teach you how to use learn to counsel and use your painful experiences as lesson plans.

Then, to guide you to someone who needs your healing.

There is a lot of hurting people out there and they need your pain to heal them Joseph- Anthony a son of Jehovah

Sometimes God delivers blessings in strange ways. Joseph- Anthony a son of Jehovah

Come and Believe as Little Children

In one of my pastorates I brought a message on the death and resurrection to a close, and as I began to issue the invitation for all who would believe on Jesus Christ as their Savior a seventy-year-old man came running down the aisle. He had put his faith in Jesus Christ as the sermon was being presented, and he wanted everyone to know it.

Little did either of us know at the time, but several months later I would conduct his funeral.

As I spent time with him and his wife he shared with me his childhood experience of living across the street from a beautiful large church. On Sunday mornings he and his little brother would sit on the steps of their house and watched the people enter the building. They wanted to go to church so badly that they cried, but they had been told they did not have good enough clothes.

In disbelief I respectively listened and I turned to Mark 10:13-16 and read these words to this lovely couple. “They were bringing children to Him so that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and said to them, ‘Permit the children to come to Me; do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all.’ And He took them in His arms and began blessing them, laying His hands on them” (Mark 10:13-16).

The essence of saving faith is to rest yourself for eternal salvation on the atoning death and perfect righteousness of Jesus Christ. It is to trust in what Jesus Christ did for you in dying for your salvation. If you are to be saved you must believe in Jesus Christ. Put your faith in no one else, and in nothing else, but Christ. Only Jesus Christ will save you.

How do persons come to Christ? They come by simple humble faith in Christ Jesus. Faith is the way to Christ. It is not faith plus baptism. It is not faith plus good works. It is not faith plus obedience. It is not faith plus church attendance. It is faith in the saving grace of God in Christ Jesus alone. If you are baptized after you have come to Christ, well and good, but do not lift your baptism to a saving ordinance or a sacrament for salvation.

Have you, like my friend, come to Jesus Christ by laying hold of Him with the hand of faith?

The sincere disciples of Jesus rebuked those who were bringing children to Jesus so He might bless them. When Jesus saw what was going on “He was indignant and said to then, ‘Permit the children to come to Me; do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these’” (v. 14).

Jesus did not say the kingdom belonged to grownups, well educated, middle class, or whatever social or class label you put on people. It belongs to the kids! I have used the AWANA children and youth program in three churches where I have pastored. I have watched Wednesday night attendance grow from six kids to 150 in four or five weeks and stay in high attendance year after year. My wife and I love working with fourth, fifth and sixth graders because they listen, comprehend the Gospel message and put their faith in Christ. Jesus said, “Permit the children to come to Me.” They can understand the good news in Christ and they do believe. They are humble enough to know what sin is, to confess to God they are sinners and to believe that Christ died for them on the cross.

Please do not ever hinder anyone from seeking salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. To every individual who is awakened to the reality of personal sin in their lives and to the saving truth in Jesus Christ we need to plead for them to trust in Christ alone for salvation. Come to Jesus Christ, put your trust in Him and be saved.

The absolutely amazing thing is that the very way in which a child enters the kingdom, is the way in which every individual must enter. Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it at all” (v. 15). Jesus then took the children into His arms and blessed them (v. 16).

The mind that is capable of understanding the simple truths of the gospel are also capable of believing in Christ. Children are capable of receiving the grace of God when the Holy Spirit imparts it.

How does a child enter into the kingdom of God? It is very simple faith. It is not something sophisticated. It takes God at its word. It believes what it is told. There are no prejudices and preconceived ideas. They simply take John 3:16 for what it plainly says. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16). Place your name in that verse and claim its promise for yourself.  “For God so loved Wilfred Pounds that he gave His only begotten Son that if I believe on Him I will not perish, but have eternal life.” I believe that with all my heart. I am willing to die for that truth. I beg you to believe on Him, too. There is salvation in no one else. There is no other name that you can call upon and be saved. “None, but Jesus can do the helpless sinner good.”

God wants to save you today. He is willing to receive you today and lay His hands on you and bless you. Jesus is displeased with anyone who would hold you back from putting your faith in Christ alone and being saved today. If you will come to Him He will in no way cast you out. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved.” “Permit the children to come to Me,” and anyone else who will come in childlike faith.

Selah!

The Church of Christ

All of us who are trusting in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior are members of the true church of Christ. We are members of His body. We have experienced the forgiveness of our sins, according to the riches of His grace. “We are accepted in the Beloved,” and we are “redeemed through His blood.”

The moment we put our faith in Jesus Christ we are born again, and at the same time placed in the body of Christ in a vital union with Him. The essence of saving faith is to rest upon Christ alone for eternal salvation. We trust in the atonement and the righteousness of Jesus Christ to save us. Saving faith is to trust in Jesus Christ and what He has done for your salvation.

Our justification is an instantaneous act from the moment we believed on Christ as our Savior.  Justification is completed in one instant never to be repeated. It is complete the moment a sinner believes on the atoning death of Jesus Christ. In that moment is the remission of all our sins. In that moment we are made clean by the blood of Jesus.

What a gracious joy to know that in one single instant we are declared just, complete in Christ, without a sin, freed from all its condemning power, guilt and iniquity. In an instant a person is pardoned. Never again will the Christian ever be unjustified! “There is therefore, now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1).

From the Day of Pentecost on as each believer became saved he also became a member of the body of Christ. It is impossible to be saved and not be a member of the church, which is Christ’s own body, because a part of the divine work of salvation is the uniting of the individual to Christ by the baptism with the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 12:13).

Every Christian is baptized by the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ at the moment he or she believes on Jesus Christ to be saved. We are by the Holy Spirit brought into the body of Christ. This baptism into the body of Christ is not limited to any particular group of believers. Every Christian, from the moment he believes in Christ and is saved is baptized by the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ and therefore the universal church of Christ. The church of all the people of God, all the redeemed, all believers is the real and only Church of Christ.

Are you a member of the true church of Christ? Are you a member of His body? Have you been saved by the grace of God alone through faith in the atoning sacrifice of Christ?

It is obviously true that an individual may be saved and not be a member of a local organized church. All born again believers should declare their identification with the death and resurrection of Jesus by believer’s baptism, and become a member in a Bible-believing congregation.

Moreover, water baptism and church membership are not required for salvation. The true church of Christ is composed of all people who have repented of their sins and put their faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior and who are thus joined together in one living union by the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Does an individual have to be baptized in order to be saved? Yes, if you are referring to the baptism of the Holy Spirit when you believed on Christ as your Savior; however no, if you are referring to water baptism.

The New Testament refers to the “church” in two ways. The main emphasis is on the church as a living organism, a vital living union of all true believers in Jesus Christ.

The second category is the local church, which is composed of professing Christians in any local community (1 Cor. 1:2Gal. 1:1Phil. 1:1).

The only candidates for membership in a visible local Bible-believing church are individuals who have put their faith in the work of salvation of Jesus Christ, and have given testimony of their salvation by water baptism.

Every person who is a candidate for baptism and church membership must give a clear testimony as to their salvation. Am I saved? Have I believed in Jesus Christ? Have I been born again? Church membership is simply the recognition of the profession of saving faith in Jesus Christ. It is to join the fellowship of other believers of kindred spirit.

You do not have to be a member of the local Church of Christ, or be baptized by one of their officials in order to be saved.

If you are looking for a perfect church, you will not find one on this earth. If you did find one, they would not let you become a member because you are not perfect. However, do find a local group of believers in the area where you live who are saved by grace through faith, and who are nearest to the Scriptures in doctrine, the ordinances of the church and practice. Become a member of the local church regardless of what tag their wear.

But We Must.

Give the gifts that are right and good, and trust in the Lord. Psalms 4: 5 The Holy Bible The New Life Version

We need to depend upon The Holy Spirit to guide us to give the proper gifts to the proper men and women.

We need to offer the needy jobs not free lunches and give them money to blow on booze and drugs ( I see it a lot ).

Teach them to be contributing members of society not leeches.

Teach them to have self respect.

It is hard to do and we need to depend upon the Lord to provide the resources to accomplish this as well as the wisdom, strength and patience.

Believe me though it is well worth the effort to see somebody straighten their lives around. The change is incredible.

We need to give but we must give wisely. Joseph- Anthony a son of Jehovah

Prayer: Oh please my loving Jehovah Jireth (Genesis 22:14 The LORD Shall Provide ) please always send The Holy Spirit to guide me on where best to invest my resources to help those in need and by extension guide them unto You. Please protect me from wasting these precious resources on those who do not appreciate them nor are willing to help themselves. I humbly request this in the name of He who only took time to help the needy that respected Him and His gifts of healing, Jesus Christ . Amen

Gladly Send the Answer Man.

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. James 1: 5 The Holy Bible, The New Living Translation

When I was a teacher, my children felt comfortable asking me any question that intrigued them. Many times they were astounded that I quite freely informed them that I do not know the answer.

It is funny how many folks are too proud to admit that and try to fake their way through it. They only look stupider and stupider.

Later I would pray and The Holy Spirit would always shed light on the answer. When the answer was given in the next class and the children would ask how I got the answer, I gladly shared with them the not so secret to the answer to all of life’s questions, His name is The Holy Spirit. And, when you respectfully ask Jehovah, He will gladly send the answer man ( well okay, He is not a man but it sounds nice lol ).

“[Christians], at their best, know that often they don’t know. They do not have all the answers. They do not have God in their pocket. We cannot answer every question that any bright boy in the back row might ask. We have only light enough to walk by.” Howard A. Johnson

Prayer: Thank you Holy Spirit ‘Ori (the Lord is my Light Psalm 27:1 ) that when I am asked a question I do not know the answer to I do the wise thing and respectfully ask You for Your wise insight. Thank you that Your brilliant light of knowledge shines the proper answer for me to reply with. May this be a light to guide the lost unto my Beloved Father in Heaven. I humbly request this in the name of the Light of the World, Jesus Christ. Amen

Many you be blessed with the gift of the answer man to answer all of your lifes questions. Joseph a son of Jehovah
