Do We Have It Wrong?

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. Revelation 21:1-2 Authorized King James Version

How many people believe that after the final judgment those who are in Christ will be taken to Heaven to live with Jesus for eternity?

However, the Book of Revelation states that a new Heaven and earth will descend down.

Now God destroyed the world in the flood and created a new one then didn’t He?

Then could this be a second cleansing of the earth by fire be the final one?

As well we will not be a spiritual being but rather a physical being with a spirit dwelling within us.

We will not be playing harps on clouds either.

Just as God gave Adam a job to do in the original paradise, so too will each of us have a specific job to do in the new paradise.

Prayer: Oh thank You gracious and loving Jehovah Jireh (God the creator) for having created such a awesome home for us to live with You for eternity. I give adulation for this incredible gift in the name of He who is the key to entry Jesus Christ. Amen.

The Meaning of the Skin.

Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them. Genesis 3:20 Authorized King James Version

Before Adam and Eve sinned, they were both but naked and it didn’t matter.

It was only after they sinned they realized their nakedness and felt shame.

To remedy this Jehovah proved them with animal skins to cover their nakedness.

This of course meant that Jehovah had to kill one of His creations to accomplish this (it does not say which animal it was but my personal belief is it was a lamb).

To skin the animal meant that an innocent animals blood was shed to cover Adam and Eves shame.

 

This to me is the symbol of the ultimate sacrifice that was necessary tocover all our sin and shame.

 

That sacrifice of course being Jesus Christ.

 

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Yeshua (God our deliver) for the incredibly high price You and You most special beloved son bestowed us with in order to experience the most enriching relationship there could ever be. He Gives You the Equipment.

May he equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to
whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:21 New International Version

 

 

When you have received and obeyed your calling from the Lord, He will always equip you with what you need
to accomplish that calling.

 

If you try to go on your own you will fail miserably.

 

Speaking from personal experience when I first was called to be a Christian writer I attempted to learn and do it
on my own, even though I knew nothing of writing. I failed miserably.

 

Every time I surrendered and asked the Holy Spirit to show my how to do it, it was an instantaneous opening if my eyes and learning how to succeed in what I was trying to accomplish (now not all things are instantaneous. Learning how to use the tools and learning how to use them and where to use them took three years. The thing that I was trying to learn at the time to move forward is what I am referring to.) .

 

That does not mean He will give you everything you want but instead everything you need.

 

You may want a big jazzy web page to attract a large audience but may instead be given a small plain one that is more effective in attracting ones who are seeking Christ.

Do You Have It?

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 13:35 King James Version

Do you greet newcomers to your church and invite them into your group? If not, is it any wonder your church is not only not growing but dying?

Do you backstab gossip and snap at each other? If you do is it any wonder you are constantly losing members?

If you see a member has a problem, whether a personal problem, financial problem or health problem do you go over and offer comfort and support? Or, do you stand round and tisk, tisk the member and use them a fodder for filthy gossip?

 

So, do you have the Christian love in your heart and lives or is yours just a Christian church in name only?

 

Prayer: Please Jehovah Chanan (God is gracious) bless me with the grace, wisdom and love to generously share with all those in Your holy family and with all those interested in becoming children of Your blessed family. I humbly request this in
the name of our loving big brother Jesus Christ. Amen.

Who Are You an Example To?

I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. John 13:15New International Version

 

 

It is very important in our lives to both have mentors and to be mentors.

 

That is why it is important to always seek council from wise Christian elders. They have walked the path you are travelling and can help you whether it is in your marriage, your job, a relationship, a possible move to another town or part of town or at school or most importantly in our Christian walk.

 

Now it is important to make sure you seek wise Christian council because there are many old fools.

 

Just because they are old does not mean they are wise. Joseph- Anthony: Green

 

Believe me, I have met many older people I wouldn’t take their directions to the toilet.

 

On the same terms just as you have been mentored so too is it your duty to mentor others. Now maybe you have not been blessed with having a mentor, then does that not make it all the more important to you as a Christian to mentor others as you would have wanted to be mentored (I believe all Christians have been mentored in their Christian walk).

 

Listen to counsel and receive instruction, that you may be wise in your latter days. Proverbs 19:20 New International Version

He Is Lurking Nearby

When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time. Luke 4:13  New International Version

 

 

Do not think that Jesus’ temptation ended after the desert. He returned numerous times.

 

When the Pharisees demanded a sign if he had of given them a sign, people would have believed in Him and he would not have gone to the cross.

 

Wasn’t the devil in Peter when he tried to talk Jesus out of going to Jerusalem to be crucified?

 

So too it is with us.

 

When the Holy Spirit releases us from destructive habits do not believe that that is the end of it. The devil will return at an opportune time like when you are weak. It was only by the power of the Holy Spirit that my prison of alcoholism was defeated. Many times when under stress the devil tempts me to blow it off by getting drunk. It is the same thing when I get bored or sometimes he reminds me of the “good old days’ getting drunk, eating pizza and watching a hockey game (Hey, I’m Canadian
eh. Growing up that was pretty much the national past time on a Saturday night in the winter).

 

Now, though the Holy Spirit has strengthened me to resist the devil and tell him with power and certainty that I belong to Jesus Christ now and am too busy to waste time money and energy on such stupid things. Besides, it is no fun riding the porcelain bus (sticking your head in the toilet and letting go) and then suffering from a hang over that makes me feel like something that came out of a dogs butt.

 

So if you have kicked a destructive habit through Gods grace, beware.  It is when you think you are your strongest that you are your weakest.The devil is lurking nearby, waiting for you.

 

But, when you are in Christ, so too is the Holy Spirit, with His amazing power to conquer the destroyer.

 

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Yehuan (God our rescuer) for Your almighty power that conquers the filthy dung that enslaved me for so many years. Thank you that that power is readily available whenever I need it. This gratitude is offered with the deepest appreciation in the name of He who conquered the dung king of hell Jesus Christ. Amen.

You are No Different.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23 New International Version

 

 

If in a moment of stress you lose your temper and those around you accuse you saying: “Wait a minute, you are a Christian, yet you lose your temper. You are no different than us.”

 

Freely admit it.

 

Explain to them that just because we are Christians that does not mean we do not have the same emotions as them. God gave us all emotions.

 

The difference is that when we succumb to sin we repent (repent means apologizing for it and stop doing it). As we continue our walk in obedience with Christ, the Holy Spirit becomes more ingrained in our daily lives. Even, when we succumb to the flesh and sin we are quickly drawn back into the fold upon repentance.

 

It is nothing special that they cannot have.

 

It is a gift given to all who submit to Christ in their lives.

 

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Chanan (God is gracious) for being so abundantly elegant to provide us with Your divine forgiveness when we submissively repent of our sins. I adoringly thank you in the name of the lamb who through His great sacrifice has made this forgiveness possible Jesus Christ. Amen.

Give in Proportion

“Give in proportion to whatyou have” 2 Corinthians 8:11 New International Version.

Please remember this before giving.

So if you are just getting by do not feel ashamed or obligated to give whether it be to your church or to a certain cause.If either your church or certain causes try the guilt trip on you just quote this verse to them.

Instead of giving money (which you cannot afford) why not donate your time instead?

You can be an usher or Sunday school teacher at school. You can canvass for a cause you believe in.

On the other hand, if you earn a comfortable living or higher do not be stingy with your giving.

If you can afford to go to lunch or buy coffee at a certain chain store every day, you can afford to be generous in your giving.

The pastor needs money to take care of his family and the church needs finances to pay the bills like hydro.

It is the same thing with your personality.

If you are an introvert (prefer to either be alone or in small groups) and someone tries to domineer you into attending a big social function do not feel obligated to go.

Personally, I prefer small Bible study groups over big churches.  I feel uncomfortable in big groups but love mentoring one on one.

If, on the other hand you enjoy being in big group settings and there is a big social function, why not donate your time?

So give what God has blessed you with to His glory and to your fulfillment.

The Perfect Rest Spot

The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Exodus 33:14 New International Version.

The rest Jehovah is referring to here is not a get away like going on vacation to a hotel resort or cabin in the woods.

Rather it is referring to having rest in His sanctuary.

This of course is spiritual rather than physical.

The way we do this is to have confidence like a child does their trusted loved one that when they are hurt or afraid they call out to them and they reassure them and protect them.

There was one time when I was trying to meditate upon scripture when there was a lot of noise all around me and there was frustration rather than rest.

I called out to my Beloved and a deep feeling of peace and rest encompassed me allowing me to continue.

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Shalom for the sanity saving peace You so generously encompass me with when the devil attempts to attack me and separate us during our special time and any time to cause us to lose our temper and shame Your name. I in great adulation praise You for this in the name of He who was tempted just like us and overcame Jesus Christ. Amen
