Was Written to Teach Us.

For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope. Romans 15:4 New International Version

 

I believe it was Winston Churchill who said that those who do not learn form the past are dammed to repeat its mistakes again.

I have found this to be oh so true.

How many people go from one disastrous relationship to the next?

One encouraging thing I have found in the Bible is that the heroes were people just like us.

 

Many of them kept on stumbling though one disaster to the next. Finally they submit to Jehovah and they find their purpose and obey. That does not mean it is easy.

As well there are numerous accounts of the saints who endured a lot of hardship. It is from them we can and should learn of perseverance and faith. It has brought me a lot of comfort and encouragement through some extremely difficult times.

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Rabbi (God our teacher) for blessing me with the honest scriptures that give me encouragement from those who have gone on before me that all hope is never lost for those who place their faith and obedience in Your wise hands. I humbly thank you in the name of He who forgave those who betrayed Him and gave them strength to obey Your holy calling in their lives Jesus Christ. Amen.

They Are New Every Morning.

Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not.  They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.” The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, Therefore I hope in Him!” Lamentations 3:22-24 New King James Version

The great thing about Jehovah is when we repent, He readily forgives us.

No matter how bad of a day we had when we go to bed and confess our short comings and ask for forgiveness when we wake up and ask for His divine guidance throughout the coming day He abundantly supplies.

We need not carry yesterdays muck ups with us the next day.

Now we will have to make amends to those we mucked up the previous day but Jehovah will bless us with the means and the strength to carry it through.

It has amazed me the way He accomplished this so many times in my life.

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Chanan (God is gracious) for blessing me with Your divine grace of forgiveness when I repent of my sins. I praise You in the name of He whose blood made such a marvelous gift possible Jesus Christ. Amen.

Who is Able To?

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. Ephesians 3:20 New King James Version

Who is able to heal your fractured relationships?

Sometimes counseling will work but when you put your faith in Jehovah He will either heal them or remove you from them because they are toxic and then heal you.

Most times this will entail going to Christian councilors that he leads you to. It will be painful and take years but the healing will occur.

For me it took two years but most Christian brothers and sisters I have talked with said it took them between four to five years. If it is worth it to you the sacrifice of that time is nothing and your life is so much better because of it.

 

Who can free you from your addictions?

Certainly not the poison they call drugs. From what I have seen they only get you more addicted to the medication and you still have your addiction.

It was only when I completely surrendered mine to Jehovah that he completely freed me from them and they have never returned. When He frees you, you are freed for life.

Now the power that works in us is not from our willpower but rather the power of the Holy Spirit which no demon can stand against.

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Ropheka (God our healer) for blessing me with Your divine healing which rescued me from the chains that were dragging me into Hell. I exalt You in the name of He whose blood freed us captives Jesus Christ. Amen,

Worship Before Your Feet.

Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you. Revelation 3:9 New King James Version

This verse will vindicate us before those who mock us now.

They mock us and persecute us for being Christians.

When Jesus comes they will be brought before us and made to kneel and acknowledge we were righteous while they were filth. They will not be laughing then.

Instead of feeling smug I think I will cry great tears of sadness.

Sadness because I know they are condemned to Hell.

Think of your family and those who were your friends that are not in the family of Christ kneeling before you and acknowledging you before being cast into eternal darkness and torment.

 

I do not believe I will find any satisfaction in it.

Will you?

Prayer: Please Jehovah Yeshua (God our rescuer) rescue those whose hard hearts are condemning the into Hell with repentant hearts for the injuries they have inflicted upon my heart and heal the wounds their words have pierced my heart with. I humbly request this in the name of He who rescued His beloved Peter from the waves of the storm that were engulfing Him Jesus Christ. Things Which Are Not Seen.

While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18 New King James Version

 

Jehovah is spirit therefore those of us who walk with Him are not to look to the material world for our rewards in life but the spiritual.

That job promotion will be lost when the company down sizes and you are out of a job.

You may be happy when you favourtite sports team wins the championship this year but next year sucks.

 

That new car will break down.

Relationships end whether there is a parting of ways or whether it is by death.

The only thing that is eternal is Jehovahs love for us and the home he has prepared for us when we get to Heaven. That is what we are to concentrate on more than the material world because that lasts an eternity.

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Emunah (God is faithful) for Your faithful promise of Heavenly riches which we will be adorned with when we receive them richest treasure of all which is when we are with You for eternally. I praise You in the name of He whose bloody sacrifice made it all possible Jesus Christ. Amen.

When the Devil Tries to Bring Me Down.

For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 Corinthians 5:1 New King James Version

 

News Flash: as we age our bodies break down until the final curtain is drawn in death.

 

One thing I have noticed amongst seniors in their waning years is a lot of bitterness because of their past.

 

 

There is no time like the present to confess our wrong doings and try to make things right.

 

Yet, I find that many stubbornly refuse.  Although I feel sorry for them, it is something they must confront and deal with. I can help them if they so desire but they must make the effort.

 

As many age the devil will try to taunt them with their past sins and convince them that they are filth in the eyes of Jehovah.

 

If you have repented and made things right do not believe his lies and merely inform him that you know Jesus has forgiven you and has prepared a Heavenly home for you. Then ask the devil to repent lest his eternal home be a very hot one.

 

When the devil tries to bring me down because of my past I just remind him of where I am going in the future. Joseph- Anthony: Green

Who Are You Serving?

“No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”” Luke 16:13 New King James Version

 

I revel in the knowledge that I serve the Supreme King and am His servant.

Just as Jesus is spiritual, so too is obedience and servanthood to Him.

We think not how to serve Him materially but spiritually.  Now we serve Him in the material world but our purpose is not material but spiritual service.

Because I love my Master I love to serve Him.

A bonus is that the more we serve Him, the more He reveals Himself to and the deeper our loving relationship drinks from His sweet life giving waters.

On the other hand I find materialistic pleasures repugnant and extremely boring. They cannot even begin to compare with the spiritual.

Tied to the value of the person is the principle of servanthood. We value what we freely serve.” Douglas Groothuis

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Yehew (God of His people) for blessing me with accepting me as Your child in a divine loving relationship. I exalt You in the name of the King of whom I am so deeply in love with and honoured to serve Jesus Christ. It Never Ends.

Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5 New King James Version

covetousness: feeling or showing a very strong desire for something that you do not have and especially for something that belongs to someone else Merriam- Webster dictionary

I have met many that have sacrificed their families and their health because of the disease of covetousness. They spend so much time working just because of their insatiable lust for more, more, more. It is an addiction. It never ends. Then one day when they are old before their time and the children have moved away and no longer keep in contact with the parents who were strangers to them because the spent their lives addicted to their lust they look around and see it was all for nothing.

I have seen many homes filled with many expensive inornate  objects yet felt empty because there was no love there.

They have wasted away their lives and are as phony as a three dollar bill.

I cannot wait to get away from them.

I have met people who use old pickle jars to drink out of and their furniture looks like they picked it up out of a junk yard. Yet, they are very content with their lives because they walk close with Jesus. Their hearts are hearts of gold. I look forward to spending time with them.

Which one are you?

Prayer: Please Jehovah Jireh (God our provider) bless me to be content and appreciative with Your abundant blessings in my daily life. Please help me to stay focused on being rich spiritually in Your world instead of the worthless material wealth in this world. I humbly beseech You in the name o the richest king Jesus Christ. Amen.

Which One Do You Prefer to Be?

Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. Ephesians 5:17 New King James Version

I have met many egotistical educated idiots who arrogantly believe they are so much smarter than everyone else. They live in a fantasy world that even feels evil. Yet, they are empty shells of creatures because there is no love in their lives for anyone except themselves.

I have met many that constantly move from one disaster to another their whole lives.

Whenever you try to talk with them they stubbornly refuse to listen. They live in the “I know, I know” world where they think they know everything but in reality they know almost nothing. Their lives are a series of pitiful disasters.

I have met a few who are constantly seeking Gods will in their lives. Yes their lives are tough but they are filled with peace, contentment and purpose in their lives. They are humble, respectful and always willing to lovingly offer help when they see the need for it.

I revel in being in their presence and never want to leave.

I personally prefer to be the one seeking Gods will in my life

Do You Dwell There?

Do you dwell there?

You know, do you keep on beating yourself up for some stupid mistake you made years ago?

 

When you repent the Lord casts it away like the rubbish it was so why do you not do the same?

 

Do you keep on reliving abuse that was inflicted upon you years ago?

Let it go or it will destroy you.

Now in these two instances the cuts may be deep which will mean you may need Christian counseling.

 

Do not be too proud to seek it out.

A wise man, or woman understands there are times in life when we need to help others as well as accept others help in our lives.

I know.

It was only when I got into counseling that many of my past deep wounds were healed and I learned how to deal with the abusive ones that take perverted pleasure in inflicting those cuts on others. Yes they are still there but because of the counseling they are no longer able to cause the damage in my life.

Do you keep on reveling in your glory years even though they are like a morning mist and have long since disappeared?

 

I have met too many that remember their glory years as the best of times. They ignore the bad things that happened then, only the good.

I am not saying to be a Negative Nellie but do not be a Glory Geordie either.  There was both good times and bad in every stage of our lives.

Come into the present while concentrating on Gods will for you today and tomorrow.
