There was a woman in Europe that set out on a ninety mile trip to pick up a friend at a train station. She set her GPS for directions to the train station. Three days later and many countries later she stopped a figured out she was lost. When asked why it took so long to figure out she was lost her reply was she was not paying attention. She was paying more attention to the scenery than listening to the GPS.
How about us?
Do we look around and see all the fun the “In crowd” is having and take their advice to join them in their drinking and partying and where do we end up?
With hangovers, empty pockets and in bed with someone we don’t even know.
Could that not lead us to addictions and diseases?
Could that not destroy our lives?
There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death. Proverbs 14:12. New International Version
Where as, if we listen and follow to the advice in the Bible we will avoid these problems.
Oh sure we will look like geeks to the in crowd, but in the long run we have a loving relationship with Christ which far out shines anything the in crowd can offer. It may seem crazy to your friends and family but it will be smiled upon by our Heavenly loving wise Father.
The Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things John 14:26 New International Version

I have met many that were obsessed with becoming wealthy.
The problem was that it completely took over their every thought and actions. They destroyed their health because of working long hours and worrying about losing their wealth. They worshipped wealth instead of Jesus.
The problem with that was that things cannot love you back and your life is bankrupt without love.
Soon their health deteriorates and they become addicted to drugs to kill the pain. As well they suffer from the mental pain of loneliness. Again they become addicted to drugs and or booze. This causes them to lose it all and they end up homeless and destitute on the streets. It seems as if their wealth just up and flew away.
I have met many that have sacrificed their lives on the alter of materilism and recieved nothing but a destroyed life in return Joseph- Anthony a son of Jehovah

I have met many that let the good times roll was their motto.
Yeah it rolled all right.
Rolled them right into the gutter.
I am not talking about poor men or women but of successful professional ones like doctors, nurses, teachers and lawyers.
For a time it is fun but soon it destroys their lives. One day they are on top of the mountain while making fun of the destitute the next they are one of those same destitute’s
Be careful.
It may look like fun but it always ends in disaster.
One day while volunteering at a local hospital I was asked to accompany a man to detox. As we were walking down the hall he looked at me and told me something I will never forget:
“ Be careful, we are all one step from the gutter. “ Anonymous
It terrified me and still does because it is oh so very true.
Prayer: Oh please Jehovah Hoshe’ah – ( The Lord Saves Psalm 20:9 ) bless me with Your saving power to give in to destructive temptations and instead prefer Your sweet river of life instead. Do you notice these are wilful sins?
I believe these are going to places that have specif temptation to entice us to give in to an addiction.
For example, there are two stores I cannot go into in town because they sell booze and I am a biological alcoholic. The same as there are certain streets that cannot be travelled for the same reasons.
We all have our weaknesses like porno or food or booze or any other numerous ones.
We need the guidance of The Holy Spirit to help us conquer them. Or else they become a habit and those are difficult to break and can destroy your life.
I have seen many take satans bait and foolishly believe they can play with fire and not get burned. Yes, the conclusion is always the same, guess who loses?
Do not fall for the trap that it is fun or you have to do it to fit in with the crowd ( then you are in the wrong crowd ) or one time will not hurt. History is full of ones whose life has been destroyed by these foolish beliefs.
Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Elohim Ozer Li (Psalms 54:4 GOD My Helper ) for helping me avoid places and situations that would provide too much and too strong an attraction to sin in my weakness. I praise You in the name of He whose example strengthens me, Jesus Christ. Amen
May I suggest we Christians start voting for politicians that have Christian morals like The Christian Heritage Party for the election here in Ontario Canada. Our rights and freedoms depend upon it.

I have found most bad habits start out small but become second nature. Then our minds and bodies crave them like a thirsty man craves a cool drink of water. Many times the cravings become so strong our minds feel as if they are going to explode in a ball of fire. Our bodies feel as if they are on fire and we feel weak and sick. Yes, our minds and bodies wanted them and enjoyed them. When they were not appeased, they punished us with a living fiery living Hell.
When those who belong to Christ do not join in their perverted dance with the devil, they hate us because our living a holy life convicts them of their evil lifestyle.
They hate others because they blame them for their addictions rather than take responsibility for their own actions.

We all have bad habits and dispositions. They are all centred in the mind. Some willingly some are inherited. They all eventually destroy us.
Unless, we surrender our will to the greatest make over artist there is. His name is: The Holy Spirit.
When we accept Christ as our Savior and King, He sends The Holy Spirit to burn off the bad attributes in our lives. Many are difficult and take time.
Some can only be accomplished by the power of The Holy Spirit. From my experience,these are usually done instantaneously.
Then, there are the ones that are accomplished with team work in harmony with The Holy Spirit. They are more difficult but always victorious in freeing you from that slavery of the addiction. This takes more time.
The last is when we get into counselling with Christian councillors that have walked the walk of your addiction so they understand what you are going through. It is a very painful experience that can take years. Again The Holy Spirit helps us along the difficult parts.
Do not act like the sinful people of the world. Let God change your life. First of all, let Him give you a new mind. Romans 12:2 The Holy Bible The New Life Version
The greatest blessing is Jesus who paid the price for my admission into Heaven.

Only Jesus can offer true freedom from sins prison.
We are all born with bad dispositions. They are inherited from the biological family.
So some are biological alcoholics. One drink and it is over for them. When they become drunks they only way to free them from this horrible addiction is by the power of Jesus. I know because that description fits me.
Then there are social addictions. You see it in the filth of TV shows, movies and listen to it on the radio about how premarital sex is fun.
Then because you want to fit into society you participate in it to your ruin.
That is when we need Jesus to free us from that group of sinners and bring us into a group of His brothers and sisters.

Now, once we have been freed from our destructive dispositions we are to stay away from them because if we do not, we will end up in the same filth all over again.
This is hard to do.
That is why we need the help and power of The Holy Spirit to help us.
Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Mephalti (The Lord my Deliverer Psalm 18:2 ) for blessing me with delivering me from destructive addiction which were making my life a living Hell. Thank you for blessing me with the wisdom and strength to conquer those which I could. There is a constant war going on. It is between the body and the spirit.
The body demands thing that will bring it pleasure.
The problem with that though is that most of those are short term pleasures which lead to an addiction which leads to a living Hell.
As well, it is a demanding circle.
Yes it always starts out as fun and exciting but as time goes on it entraps you to use it more and more. It consumes all of your thoughts. It causes your mind to scream when it is not satisfied. Of course ultimately you lose everything to the addiction and become a slave to it.
Addiction is a cruel master which shows no mercy. Joseph a son of Jehovah
The Holy Spirit will warn us of destructive addictions but it is ultimately up to us to obey His advice. We ignore it at our own peril.
The Holy Spirit will guide you to live in such a manner which is pleasing both unto Jehovah, Jesus Christ, The Holy Spirit and you. Many times it is not popular in culture but hang in there. You will be glad you followed His advice in the long run both in this life and in your eternal one in Heaven.
Following the Holy Spirits guidance fills your daily life with joy while satan fills it with torment. It is up to you to chose your path in your life. Chose wisely. Your decision will affect not only this life, but, your eternal one as well.

The Important Three C’s
When trying to help a loved one that is struggling with a life-controlling problem, we need to be aware of the “Important Three C’s”: cause, control and cure.
We are not the cause of our loved ones’ problems. They are responsible for the choices they made that led to them to where they are, no matter what the circumstances may have been.
We have no control of our loved ones’ problems. As hard as we try, we cannot fix them, only God can do that. Trying to take control only leads to disaster for both you and your loved one.
Accepting this fact of powerlessness is the first step toward recovery for you as a helper. It prevents a lot of stress on your behalf.
It is impossible for us to cure our loved one’s problems, but the Bible tells us that Jesus cares and only He can help provide the proper medicine to cure our loved ones. They of course must take the medicine in order for it to be effective. We can be used to help either with or without the Holy Spirits help.
Then there are times we need to step back and allow the Holy Spirit complete control. Sometimes the problem cannot be solved with drugs nor counselling. It can only be cured by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. Isaiah 41:10 The Holy Bible, The New Living Translation
The best way we can help others is to take steps to get them to accept they have a problem, get into Christian counselling, and work with the councillor in helping solve the problem.
If it needs the Holy Spirit to conquer the problem, the addicted one must completely surrender his or her will to that of The Holy Spirit.
And of course, through it all, we must never stop praying.
The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. James 5:16 The Holy Bible, The New Living Translation
Prayer: Oh Jehovah Rophe (Exodus 15:26 The LORD our Healer ) please bless me with the wisdom in how to help my loved one conquer their addiction. Including, when to step back and surrender it to You.

We all inherit bad dispositions from our ancestors. Some are good. Some are bad.
We know we should not do the bad things but no matter how hard we try to stop doing them, we fail every time. The only way to cleanse ourselves of these destructive forces with in us is to totally surrender them unto Jehovah.
There are three ways this is accomplished. One, He blesses us with the strength to conquer them ourselves.
Two we work in conjunction with The Holy Spirit to destroy them. To do these first two means we must surrender our will to The Holy Spirits will.
Not my will, but Thy will be done is the only way for true success. Joseph a son of Jehovah
The third way is when the sin is too powerful with in us. It can only be eradicated through the power of The Holy Spirit who is sent by Jehovah.
When this has happened with me there was nothing dramatic about it. One day I woke up and the Lord softy whispered in my ear : “ It is finished.” and I never partook of that destructive habit again.
It is important for everyone to research their ancestry to understand why they are the way they are. It is more important to surrender our will to allow the Holy Spirit to mold us into the beautiful children Jehovah desires us to be. Joseph a son of Jehovah

So many that are suffering from drug addiction and alcoholism are suffering from something deeper and more painful.
It is abuse by parents when we were children. We never recover and kill the pain with booze and drugs.
This of course only makes the situation worse, not better.
When we surrender to the healing power of Christ, He will free us from this pain.
Sometimes it will happen instantly but most times it takes years of Christian counselling.
It is painful but well worth it.
As we are freed from the prison of abuse we surrender our addictions and because we trust Christ as our Saviour, those sins are forgiven. We belong to Him now, not the past that haunts and torments us . The power of the Holy Spirit sets us free.
We may, and most do, suffer from painful memories all their lives but each time this happens, The Holy Spirit comes and comforts and encourages us.
The Holy Spirit frees us from all prisons in our lives. Joseph a son of Jehovah
