Being Watchful and Thankful.

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. Colossians 4:2New International Version

 

Devote:  to commit by a solemn act ,devoted herself to serving God

2:  to give over or direct (as time, money, or effort) to a cause, enterprise, or activity Merriam-Webster Dictionary

 

It should be the best part of every day for every Christian to begin their day talking with the one whom  loves them the most. It is in faith that we believe He will answer our prayers in His way and in His time.

 

Watch for Jehovahs answer.

 

Most times in my walk with Christ He answers my prayers in unexpected ways in unexpected times. It constantly amazes me but we are also to watch for Jehovahs answer when the Spirit moves us.

 

For example I asked the Lord to deliver me from poverty. I expected a full time permanent job in my town. His answer was for me to move from my small town to a big city.. It is in faith that I obeyed and was richly rewarded for doing so

 

Be thankful for His answer.

 

It is polite and courteous to be thankful for when someone does something for you.

 

So too it is with Christians and so much more when our beloved Father in Heaven answers our prayers.

 

If someone is ungrateful towards me, good luck on getting my help afterwards.

 

Someone who only wants something from us while giving nothing in return is not a loving man or woman, they are abusive. Joseph- Anthony: Green

 

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Jireh (God our provider) for amply answering my prayers. Thank you also for instilling in me a grateful heart. I praise You in the name of He whose blood provided the necessary requirements to become Your cherished child Jesus Christ. Do You Dwell There?

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. Isaiah 43:18 New International Version

 

Do you dwell there?

You know, do you keep on beating yourself up for some stupid mistake you made years ago?

 

When you repent the Lord casts it away like the rubbish it was so why do you not do the same?

 

Do you keep on reliving abuse that was inflicted upon you years ago?

Let it go or it will destroy you.

Now in these two instances the cuts may be deep which will mean you may need Christian counseling.

 

Do not be too proud to seek it out.

A wise man, or woman understands there are times in life when we need to help others as well as accept others help in our lives.

I know.

It was only when I got into counseling that many of my past deep wounds were healed and I learned how to deal with the abusive ones that take perverted pleasure in inflicting those cuts on others. Yes they are still there but because of the counseling they are no longer able to cause the damage in my life.

Do you keep on reveling in your glory years even though they are like a morning mist and have long since disappeared?

 

I have met too many that remember their glory years as the best of times. They ignore the bad things that happened then, only the good.

I am not saying to be a Negative Nellie but do not be a Glory Geordie either.  There was both good times and bad in every stage of our lives.

Come into the present while concentrating on Gods will for you today and tomorrow.

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Rohi (God is our Sheppard) for helping me to learn form the lesson of the past while not dwelling on them. Thank you for blessing me with keeping my eyes focused on Your intended path in my walk with You. I exalt You in he name of he who was always focused on Your calling in His walk amongst us Jesus Christ. Amen.
