For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed in (trusted, relied on) God, and it was credited to his account as righteousness (right living, right standing with God).” Romans 4:3The Holy Bible Amplified Version
Faith is an action word.
Abraham was told to leave the comfort of the city he dwelt in and to leave all the wealth he had to go out into the unknown.
He did not know where Jehovah was leading him, He did not know where his daily provisions were going to come from.
He did not have any protection from the wild animals nor bandits. At that time He did not even know Jehovah.
Yet, through all of this he obeyed when Jehovah told him to leave his comfort and security to go out to the unknown world ( at that time leaving the security of the city you were living in was like going to another planet).
You are told to go when it does not makes sense to go. You are living a comfortable life. You are going to leave family and friends, have no means of financial support and no protection will you have the faith ( which is another word for trust) to obey Jehovahs command?
You are told to stay when it does makes sense to. You have no job but there is another one offered in another city. Your savings have been depleted. There is rising crime rate with little protection from the authorities. Will you have the faith to stay when all else says to flee?
Faith is obedience.
Will you trust Jehovah to do what does not make sense to do and to not do what does make sense to do?
In my life all of my failures can be traced back to lack of faith in Jehovahs commands.
My greatest successes were when I was obedient unto Jehovahs commands even though they seemed insane ( indeed many of my biggest fights with the family was when they were trying to convince me to disobey Jehovahs commands and I was bitterly mocked for my obedience ).
Prayer: Please Jehovah Emunah (God is faithful) bless me to always be faithful and obedient unto You knowing that You are the most faithful of all and Your commands are for my good. I sincerely request this in the name of He who was obedient and faithful unto You all the way to the cross Jesus Christ. Amen.
May the gentle assurance of Jesus’ sweet love encompass you today and every day.
For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return. Philippians 1:10 New Living Translation Bible
Having all the toys does not really matter in the big picture. Indeed, they make you slaves. You have to work to make payments on what you bought. Then, if you leave the house for vacation you worry if they will be stolen while you are gone.
Having the latest mobile phone with all the gadgets does not really matter in the big picture.
The list goes on and on.
Indeed, they make you slaves. You have to give of your earnings every month for the down payment and are stuck with phone companies that , in my opinion, overcharge.
Really, why do you need these things anyway?
One word: vanity, which is selfish pride. You are self centered and saying: Look at me, look at me.
When you care only about yourself you end up with no one but yourself. Joseph son of Jehovah
In the big picture if you really desire satisfaction in your life, know the meaning of life and why you are here there is only one answer: become a slave. When we become Christians that make Jesus our king. If he is our king then we are His bondsmen and women. A bondsman is someone who freely gives his service unto another in exchange for something else. In Christ when we are His bondsmen or women our benefits are all the blessing He has promised.
Serving Christ has unlimited valuable blessings. Joseph son of Jehovah
“Jesus is the yes to every promise of God.” — William Barclay
Everyone that yields to selfishness, will find it the most enchaining tyranny on earth, it is always demanding more and gives no lasting satisfaction in return Joseph son of Jehovah
Which do you choose?
Prayer: Thank you Jesus Hamelech ( Jesus is my Lord King ) for blessing this humble servant with the privilege of serving You daily in my life. This blessing assures me of my purpose and meaning in life. I praise You in You glorious name. Amen.
May the gentle assurance of Jesus’ sweet love encompass you today and every day.
“What do you think? There was a man who had two sons, and he came to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work in the vineyard today.’ And he answered, ‘I will not’; but afterward he regretted it and changed his mind and went. Then the man came to the second son and said the same thing; and he replied, ‘I will, sir’; but he did not go. Which of the two did the will of the father?” Matthew 21: 28- 31 Holy Bible Amplified Version
Which Son are You?
Personally I am the first son.
There have been so many times I believed Jehovah to be insane when He sent me on a task. Many times I stomped my foot and flat out refused to obey such a ludicrous suggestion. Upon reflection in quiet times I would slowly submit ( even though I was certain it was going to end disastrously for guess who). To my total shock and amazement the task was gloriously completed and I could not cease proclaiming His awesomeness and me admiration of Him. As my walk with our Beloved Heavenly Father progressed and these tasks became more challenging my attitude evolved from one of : “ Are you nuts; this is certain disaster. “ to : “ Okay my Love, I do not know how You are going to do it and am certainly looking forward to Your unusual way of providing for this child of Your to not only complete the task but to do so in a manner which glorifies You. “
Jehovah does not care if you argue as long as you obey. Joseph- Anthony: Green
On the other hand I have met many who openly profess to be obedient children of God yet refuse to obey His leading. They are the naughty second child.
Which one are you?
Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Abba (God our Father) for blessing me with the Holy Spirit to prick my conscience into obedience unto You. I love You and always desire to be a loving obedient child of Yours. I humbly thank you in the name of my big brother Jesus Christ. Amen
May the gentle assurance of Jesus’ sweet love encompass you today and every day.
“Now yield and submit yourself to Him [agree with God and be conformed to His will] and be at peace; In this way [you will prosper and great] good will come to you. Job 22:21 Holy Bible Amplified Version
It takes the two. It takes the two parts in this verse before you are blessed.
Number one is to stop.
Stop being independent and stubborn. Jehovah cannot and will not ever attempt to help someone who refuses help. We must yield our will and wants and submit unto Him.
The next part is just as difficult.
To submit ourselves unto Jehovah means we are to give Him total control over our lives like a horse submits to the reins of its rider.
Once these two difficult tasks are completed then come the blessing. The blessing may be a physical blessing but there is always a spiritual blessing. The spiritual blessing of course is that there is a lot less stress in your life because you trust Jehovah has control of your life. The same can be said for worry. Instead your life is filled with peace, contentment and a knowledge of security knowing we have a superior being directing and helping us live a Divine life.
Leaving it in Jehovahs hands is the better choice. He knows what He is doing while we only think we know what we are doing. Joseph- Anthony: Green
Prayer: Thank you Jesus Hamelech ( Jesus my Lord King ) for blessing me with the privilege of being a humble servant of the most noble King. Please bless me to always have a submissive heart unto Your will in every aspect of my life. I give thanks for this blessing and pray for this blessing in Your majestic name. Amen.
May the gentle assurance of Jesus’ sweet love encompass you today and every day.
And you shall know [with an understanding based on personal experience] that I am the Lord; For they shall not be put to shame who wait and hope expectantly for Me. Isaiah 49:23 Holy Bible Amplified Version
Have you ever experienced confirmation from Jehovah from a Bible Verse or from Christians councilors of a certain event that is going to occur in your life?
I have.
Everybody laughed at me and informed me it was certain failure to attempt to follow Christs lead. In all honesty when this first began I doubted myself the outcome. In due course of time Christ did indeed accomplish in me and through me His Divine purpose in my life and through my life.
Now when my Beloved informs me of an impossible occurrence that will happen in my life I have confidence in His providential completion of it. The wonderful thing though, is that He never does it in a predictable manner. I believe this is so no one can claim it is just a coincidence. I always laugh and say: “ You are truly an awesome God and Your ways are so much higher than mine my Love.” with reverential love and joy.
I believe Jehovah does the impossible in strange ways to remind us of just how awesome He truly is. Joseph- Anthony: Green
Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses]. Hebrews 11:1Holy Bible Amplified Version
Prayer: Thank you Jehovah-Rohi ( Jesus is our Divine Shepherd ) for the amazing manner in which You have led and helped this sheep of Yours to accomplish incredible things for the glory of Your kingdom and the enlargement of it through those You have blessed me with guiding them unto You. I glorify You in You magnificent name. Amen.
May the gentle assurance of Jesus’ sweet love encompass you today and every day.
But God has selected [for His purpose] the foolish things of the world to shame the wise [revealing their ignorance], and God has selected [for His purpose] the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong [revealing their frailty]. 1 Corinthians 1:27 Holy Bible Amplified Version
Do you believe you are not smart enough to share the gospel or a Bible study?
Jehovah needs you for that exact reason. He uses the uneducated to shame the arrogant that profess to be wise. He shows that He is using you to show others what He can do through others and themselves. You meet the criteria to be useful in His kingdom work.
You do not need to be pretty enough, rich enough, a social elite or genius to do His work ( indeed , many times these are a hindrance ).
Do you have a heart that is willing to do His will and be obedient unto His calling in your life ?
Then , you meet the criteria to be His servant.
Have a sincere desire to serve God and mankind, and stop doubting, stop thinking negatively. Simply start living by faith, pray earnestly and humbly, and get into the habit of looking expectantly for the best. –Norman Vincent Peal
Indeed , I had no university degree when I went to service unto the Lord in Asia but had a willing heart to learn how to teach and was obedient unto His calling. In the process I was a much sought after teacher shaming many of the arrogant university educated ones who thought they were superior to me. It was a comical twist when these souls ended up coming to me the “ uneducated “ for advice because I knew how to teach in Asia ( through the Lords special class which took two years and a lot of effort and trial and error on my behalf) and they did not ( people in different parts of the world learn differently than from those of different parts of the world ) .
Jehovah can use the outcasts of society more than the elite because the outcasts know they need Jehovahs guidance more than the elite do. Joseph- Anthony: Green
Prayer: Thank you Jehovah-Bara ( The Lord Creator) for taking a filthy lost sinner like me and creating in me a heart, mind and soul that is receptive to Your Divine purification and blessing me with Your Divine purpose. I exalt You in the name of He who transformed ignorant fishermen into world transforming disciples Jesus Christ . Amen
May the gentle assurance of Jesus’ sweet love encompass you today and every day.
Serve the Lord with gladness and delight; Come before His presence with joyful singing. Psalm 100:2 Holy Bible Amplified Version
In life we all have a choice of who we will serve. We cannot serve them both. We will serve one or the other.
The second one is serving ourselves. We come above all others and all else.
Now some may say I do a lot of community work, how can that be serving myself?
Yes, but, why are you serving the community or is it to serve the community or is it to puff up your ego?
The sad thing is that those who are selfish and self serving (greedy) are the loneliest creatures I have ever met. Oh, they may have a lot of money, prestige, fame and toys but they have no one to love and to be loved by. They usually take comfort in a bottle or pills.
The number on choice is to serve the Lord.
Everything we do whether great or small that is dedicated unto Him is cherished by Him.
There is no small act of dedication unto Jehovah that is not great in Heaven. Joseph- Anthony: Green
We are to serve out of duty not obligation.
Duty is an act of love, obligation is a transaction of goods.
So those religions that falsely teach that good works will gain you entry into Shangrala are only deceiving you. When you receive your rewards here, you have completed the transaction of goods.
When we serve out of duty unto Jehovah it is done as an act of love. After all that is what it is all about. Being blessed with a loving relationship with Him and when you love someone you enjoy making them happy which is what duty is. The bonus we receive is a heavenly home where we will enjoy an eternal loving intimate relationship with our Divine Father.
Do you seek any further reward beyond that of having pleased God? In truth, you know not how great a good it is to please Him. –St. John Chrysostom
Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Heseh (God is love) for blessing me with many opportunities to preform my duty unto You by serving others. I exalt You in the name of He who served us on with the ultimate service on the cross Jesus Christ. Amen.
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
[Growing in grace] they will still thrive and bear fruit and prosper in old age . Psalm 92:14 Holy Bible, Amplified Bible
Just because you are old does not diminish your usefulness in service unto Jehovah.
There are many organizations like Habitat for Humanity that would gladly appreciate your skills. Even if you have no experience they still need helping hands. I worked with them for the first time recently and the old fellas taught me a great deal and the fellowship was great.
Perhaps you have been a housewife, well I am sure there are community programs where they need you to teach cooking (the old home made meals are still the best).
If you have a vehicle there are many elderly folks that need a ride for doctors appointments and to take the shopping. There are hiking trails that need volunteers for maintenance of the trails.
There are literacy programs that need volunteers to teach others to read.
You can go and help out at seniors homes, being a volunteer there believe me I see a lot of lonely folks that would love to have someone come in for a visit.
The whole time you can share with others your walk with Christ. Personal testimony is still the best evangelical tool available.
Carpe diem (Seize the day)
Plant your seed of kindness and love today so that you will be blessed with an abundant harvest tomorrow. Joseph- Anthony: Green
Not only will you be helping your community but ,by Gods grace, you will be guiding others into Jehovahs beautiful family.
There are so many lost, confused and lonely out there that need your help. Another blessing is that what goes around, comes around. When the time comes when you need help ( and we all do occasionally) you will have a support network there to help you as you have helped others.
Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Immanuel (God is with us) for walking with me through out my life and teaching me so many amazing things. Thank you for walking with me through my many trials and tribulations, sorrows and snares. Please bless me with opportunities to pass this Divine wisdom on to others who need guidance and support. I praise You and humbly request this in the name of He who is my constant support and guide through life, Jesus Christ. Amen.
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
“My only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.” (Acts 20:24 New International Version)
While enjoying my morning meal of “The Breakfast of Champions” Bible reading (after all, read the treasures within. Isn’t it chocked full of champions?) this verse stood out to me. It made me feel good.
Imagine a king or emperor giving a special task, just for you.
My task is being a Christian writer and the longer I partake of my divine task, the less of a task it is. Every time an article helps someone draw closer to Christ that will be another jewel in my crown in Heaven.
Then when Christ, the Chief Shepherd, comes, you will get a glorious crown that will never lose its beauty. 1 Peter 5:4 New Century Version
Do you know why the crown will never lose its beauty?
It is because the jewels which are more precious than jade or diamonds are the people I have been blessed to help draw closer to Christ. THEY are the jewels.
We all have our calling in the heavenly family. When you do your part, you too will inherit a precious crown. Are you doing the task our master has assigned you? When you feel exhausted or dejected and want to quit, remember your crown awaiting you in Heaven. Do not believe any task is little, small or insignificant?
The truly generous is the truly wise, and he who loves not others, lives unblest. Henry Home
When I was a teacher I planted the seeds in some of my students. I look forward to meeting them in Heaven and sharing huge hugs and tears of joy with them.
So too it is with you. The little seed you plant today may become a beautiful apple tree that produces much Heavenly fruit tomorrow.
Read about the great evangelists of yesterday like Billy Graham and Spurgeon or Billy Sunday. Some were real party boys. They heard one little sermon or had one little encounter with a Christian and they went on to set the world on fire.
You too could be the match that sets the next Billy Graham on the world.
“Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best.” – William Blake
No you do not desire your crown for pride but rather joy. The joy being that you have in some way guided another to heaven. It will be joy for them not pride for you. Joseph- Anthony: Green
If you believe you only have little in the way of skills or resources remember this: Little in the hands of Jesus can do much.
As well every time you serve Christ whether in your vocation, volunteer work or every day life, you will be putting another jewel in your crown.
There is no small act of kindness here on earth that is not great in Heaven. Joseph- Anthony: Green
Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Jireh (God our Provider) for the wonderful privilege of having so many precious jewels in my crown. I ask my beloved that You bless me with so many more opportunities to add more jewels to this crown. As well oh cherished one, may these jewels have their own crowns to give even more glory to You. I give thanks and ask for this blessing in the name of Him who wears the most treasured crown, Jesus Christ. Amen.
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power]. James 5:16 Amplified Bible
Have you ever prayed for something and when Jehovah graciously answered your prayer instead of thanking Him you just wrote it off as a coincidence?
I used to.
Have you ever noticed that some folks prayers are answered more than others and wondered why?
Actually, for me, the shocker came when non-believers asked me to pray for them and then their prayers were answered. They kept on insisting it was because of my prayers because sometimes the almost impossible happened shortly after I began praying for them. I would argue with them that it was just a coincidence and then one day that Bible verse jumped out at me.
Now that does not mean that all my prayers have been or can be fulfilled. Sometimes the prayer involves other souls and they are too hard hearted to surrender their will unto Jehovah so He can not accomplish the prayer request (Jehovah never forces His will upon us, it is up to us to choose whether we surrender to His will or continue down the highway to Hell).
All I know is that when I pray, coincidences happen; and when I don’t pray, they don’t happen. –Dan Hayes
How many “coincidences” have happened in your life and you neglect to thank our gracious Heavenly Father for answering your prayer?
Where fools see coincidence the wise see the hand of God. Joseph- Anthony: Green
Prayer: Thank you Jehovah-Rohi – Shepherd for blessing this difficult precious lamb of Yours. I am grateful that I have placed my life completely in Your wise hands so You can guide me through many strange and wonderful “coincidences”.
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
