How to Prosper.

Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is he who trusts in the LORD. Proverbs 16:20New King James Version

A good mentor is important in your life, especially a Christian one.

The reason for this is because they have experienced so much in their life. Things are different but the same today. Okay the elders did not have computers or cell phones but they have experience in life. We should listen to them to avoid a lot of problems or learn how to handle the problems when they arise.

Us older Christians have the duty to help the younger ones. We are not to sit on our laurels and tisk tisk any problems our younger brothers and sisters are experiencing. If we see them begin to go astray we are to wisely, meekly and gracefully try to correct them.

Of course the best way to do this is to share our experiences with them, especially how our trusting in Jehovah has led us out of some very difficult times.

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Jireh ( God our provider) for blessing me with wise Christian councilors in the path of life You have so wisely chosen for my life. Please bless me my Lord to be a Godly example and mentor to the younger brothers and sisters in Your holy family. I humbly request this in the name of the greatest mentor of all Jesus Christ. It is Not Fitting

As snow in summer and rain in harvest, so honor is not fitting for a fool. Proverbs 26: 1 New King James Version

Being an old farmer boy I speak from experience when I say that snow in the summer or rain during the wheat harvest destroys the whole crop.

So too it is when honour is given to a fool. They take all the credit ignoring everyone else who helped in the accomplishment. Then, they get a big head and think they are better than everyone else. Have you ever listened to them in a conversation? They cannot say an entire sentence without saying “I did this.” “Or I did that.” They are egotistical bores. Just look at most professional athletes today.

When an honour is given you before accepting it pray the Lord bless you with humility.

Humility is when you have confidence in the blessing Jehovah has given you so there is no need to brag.

And, do not forget to share the glory with those who helped you make the accomplishment, including Jehovah.

How to Gain Holy Endurance.

“For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope”Romans 15:42 Chronicles 24:20 New King James Version

The Bible is our guide book and book of encouragement. There is not one situation you have gone through or are going through that is not mentioned in the Bible.

I find it amazing that the more I study the Bible the more I meet those who have endured what I have or am. This blesses me with endurance to keep on the path my Beloved has chosen for me.

One thing I like to do when experiencing any difficulties is to look up Bible verses in a Bible concordance like BibleGateway.com and gain inspiration from others before me and insight on how they handled the situation.

His Own Spirit

Whoever has no rule over his own spirit is like a city broken down, without walls. Proverbs 25: 28 New King James Version

A city with no walls was an easy target in ancient times. The enemy could easily conquer it.

So too it is with our own will power.

Yes we are to depend upon Jehovah for strength but that does not mean we are to be wussies and solely depend upon Him.

There are times when we have to have backbone and stand up for what is right even if we stand alone.

This has occurred many times in my life and I was branded a trouble maker. It did not matter to me

It is better to sacrifice popularity than to suffer the consequences of no morals. Joseph- Anthony: Green.

Prayer: Please Jehovah Jireh (God our provider) bless me with provision to always stand by Your holy morals even when there may be severe consequences for it. Why Did He Do That?

Why was I born?

Eventually we all ask this question don’t we?

For those without Christ we are born, we live, we die. There is no real purpose to life. Oh they may go through life believing this is all there is so get all the gusto you can but in their elder years they do reflect back on what their life meant and what was it all about.

For those of us blessed to be Christs holy servants we know we were born for a specific purpose.

That is why he did that.

It does not matter if you are smart or not, if you are rich or poor or if you are beautiful or not.

Remember that the next time someone calls you a loser or stupid.

Who Are You Trying to Please?

Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ. Galatians 1:10 New International Version.

When I was a teenager I had many people tell me to do this with my life and just as many telling me t do the opposite. It nearly drove me nuts.

Look at the media today, telling you it is okay to have affairs, cheat, lie and steal. Live for yourself.

Those are all destructive lies that will only lead you to hell.

In my twenties I started praying and reading the Bible.

Jehovah spoke to me and showed me what He had planned for me.

It was not easy and in thirty years since he has led me down many difficult paths. In these travels I learned to depend upon Him and trust Him more and more.

In doing so, He revealed more and more about Himself to me which has blessed me with the most incredible love affair there could ever be.

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah KalEl (voice of God) for blessing me with speaking to me. In doing so You have blessed me with revelation about Yourself and the most amazing love to ever experience. I thank You in the name of He whose loving sacrifice made it all possible Jesus Christ. Amen.

Trusts in His Own Heart.

Have you ever wanted something very badly and refused to listen to any advice, especially from someone who has experience in the matter?

How about with a prospective boyfriend or girlfriend?

How about applying for a contract at a certain company?

I once made a friend with a man that everybody told me was nothing but trouble. Boy were they right. If I had of listened to them I would have prevented a lot of grief and frustration.

Prayer: Please Jehovah Rohi ( God our Sheppard guide my steps so that I may be prevented from doing or saying stupid things that will only cause me grief. I humbly request this in the name of He who always walked in wisdom Jesus Christ. Amen.

Corrupts Good Habits

Have you ever gotten into the bad crowd because it looked like they were so cool?

I did.

When I was a teenager in the seventies I got in with the “hippies”. I thought the lifestyle of no rules and free living was cool. After a couple of months I stopped reading my Bible, stopped praying and slowly changed. One day I took stock of my life and saw it was empty and without love or cause.

It was rough but after a year I was completely free from that lifestyle and began reading my Bible and praying again. Slowly my relationship with our Beloved took on a deeper meaning and joy.

The same goes for free sex or gambling or drinking or any other worldly bad habits.

Do not be deceived.

It may look like fun to begin with but will only lead you into a living hell.

After many decades I retuned to my hometown. Sometimes I would meet these “hippies” . Even though we are the same age they look like they are over a hundred. Their health is shot and their lives wasted, even they themselves admit this.

Prayer: Please Jehovah Rohi ( God our Sheppard) guide me along the path of righteousness so that Your blessing of love and purpose will follow me all the way t Your Heavenly home. I humbly request this in the name of He who only walked the walk You had prepared for Him while He was with us here on earth Jesus Christ. Amen.

A Fountain of Life

 

The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, To turn one away from the snares of death. Proverbs 14:27 New King James Version

To fear the Lord in this context means to respect Him. That is very wise.

Because He loves us and only desires what is best in our lives it is best to respect His choices in our lives.

The traps of death I believe are spiritual.

So if we desire wealth or fame over Jehovahs plan for our lives we will be spiritually dead. It may look enticing to begin with but in the end you will end up being spiritually dead.

I turned away from my beloved for a couple of years and they were not enjoyable or fulfilling times.

Once I returned to Him He slowly moved me where He wanted me to be, doing what He had prepared for me to do.

Prayer: Please my love Jehovah Abba  (God our father) always instill in my heart a deep love and respect for You. Always move my heart to be an obedient child of Your. I humbly ask this in the name of He who was and is Your most obedient, loving son Christ Jesus Amen.

He will deliver you.

Do not say, “I’ll pay you back for this wrong!” Wait for the LORD, and he will deliver you. Proverbs 20:22 King James Version

Revenge is a stupid never ending circle of pain, destruction and sorrow. Joseph- Anthony: Green

I used to be the type of man that you never wanted to cross. Sometimes that meant that when I extracted my revenge for a perceived wrong an innocent would be hurt. Then the shame I felt was far greater that the satisfaction from the revenge.

It took a few years in my infancy walk with Christ to understand that the Lord delivers the best justice. After all who knows the offender better and how to administer truer justice you or Jehovah?

There were two instances when an employer cheated me and here was nothing I could do about it. A few months later boy did He deliver full justice and then some. I did not pray for the revenge nor particularly enjoyed it.

Now when someone does you wrong you are not to pray for fire and brimstone to be heaped upon the offenders heads. Instead pray that the Lord will bring them to repentance and there is resolution.

I believe what Jehovah will deliver you from is the fire and hatred that comes and consumes you when you want revenge.

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Yeshua (God my deliverer) for delivering me from the vicious destructive cycle of revenge and freeing me to be Your loving child. I adore You in the name of He who did not seek revenge on the cross Jesus Christ. Amen.
