“Comfort, comfort my people,” says your God. Isaiah 40:1 The Holy Bible, The New Living Version
Yes, Jehovah puts us through the furnace of affliction to burn off the dross (but off our bad dispositions and habits) but He also does so so that we will be able to comfort others when they go through the furnace or through their hard times.
As Jehovah lovingly comforts us, so too are we to follow His example and comfort others. One benefit of this compassion is this will serve as a great opportunity to encourage them to desire to become members of His family.
“God does not comfort us to make us comfortable, but to make us comforters.” — J. H. Jowett
Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Shammah ( The Lord is Present Hebrews 13:5 ) for blessing me that You have walked with me through all of my trials and tribulation, sorrows and being put through the furnace of affliction. Please bless me with opportunities to walk with others in their times of need as well. I sincerely ask this in the name of He who walked in the furnace with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego Jesus Christ. Amen
Christ blesses us with love, peace and joy. May you be blessed with many opportunities to share these with others today. Joseph a son of Jehovah
