You Must Walk Away

Walk away from old habits and associations.

When you accept Christ’s invitation to join His Holy family, you must walk away from old habits and associations.

No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Luke 9:62 New International Version

This will mean walking away from your drinking buddies and your shopping sisters. It may even include walking away from family (from my experience most Christians receive far more opposition, mockery and contempt from their family than they do from outside). You must forgo destructive habits. This will mean crucifying desire for revenge when some one has wronged you. It means to crucify love of money and material things. They are dead and incapable of loving you back anyways. Why do you want to worship a dead thing is beyond me.

Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Ephesians 5:16

It means to stop being self centered and become instead Christ centered. You must crucify self to Jesus. That means you must put away everything and surrender your all to Jesus. I do not say crucify lightly. For many Christians it is the most painful experience of their lives. It certainly was for me. Unlike Christ’s suffering for six hours on His cross, our cross may last days, weeks or even months. My initial crucifixion lasted three months.

Once through on the other side though I experienced joy and peace such as never before. Every day Christ’s family and Christ Himself draws nearer and nearer to me.

Some things may last years. For example, I am very independent. I believe in taking care of myself. That must daily be crucified. Now there is nothing wrong with having a good work ethic. It is indeed to be respected. The problem is, when you depend upon your work ethic instead of Jesus, you look to self rather than Jesus. THAT is what must be crucified. For something’s they must be crucified daily. They are not as severe as the initial crucifixion, but are just as important to be crucified.

“Strengthen yourselves so that you will live here on earth doing what God wants, not evil things people want.” (1 Peter 4:2 New Century Version).

Do you strengthen yourself by crucifying self every day?

Prayer: Please Jehovah Sabaoth, God who goes out in front of us, help me stay focused on moving forward down the road You have wisely chosen for me. Please help me to look forward and not backwards. In the name of Him to who I look forward to being with in Heaven , Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.

so Busy Serving

Which are you?

When Jesus went to Mary, Martha and Lazarus’ house for a meal Mary was very content to sit at Jesus’ feet and listen to Him after she had completed her chores. Martha on the other hand was busy trying to make everything perfect for the master before sitting down to listen to Him. The meal that they shared is probably forgotten the next day, but the words Jesus spoke to Mary lasted her a lifetime.

How many Christians are so busy serving Jesus at youth groups, prayer meetings, Sunday school and in Bible groups they have no time to just sit and pray and read the Bible to have a conversation with Him?

Yes, serving Jesus is important, but He wants to have a relationship with Him as well.

If I go through a day without reading the Bible and praying first thing in the morning it is like trying to go to the gym for a morning workout without having a decent breakfast first.

How is your quiet time with Jesus doing these days?

Prayer: Please Jehovah Shammah (the Lord is present) help me to develop a quiet time to be between just You and me. A time where I can drink in the living waters of Your precious Word, a time where I can talk with You, a time when I can sing songs of praise, joy and thanks for the marvelous privilege of having someone so special as You to share such a wonderful loving relationship with. The Pig Versues the Cat

When do you think they are their happiest?

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Galatians 6:7-8 New International Version

The pig of course is its happiest when it is wallowing in the mud.

When do you think the cat is the happiest?

When it is laying contentedly in the warm sunlight of course.

So too it is with people. There are those who are quite content to wallow in sin. When they see a Christian living a godly life they snort and laugh at us. If you try to coax a pig into the sunlight it will viciously fight you. . There are some that after you share Jesus with them and they refuse you have to walk away. No matter what you do they refuse to come into the light.

Christians are the most contented when they are basking in the warmth of Christ’s love.

Just as mud is disgusting to a cat, so too is a sinful life to a Christian A Christian must avoid fellowship with those in the filth of sin less they be drawn into it. That does not mean we are to refuse to talk with them. It does mean when they want to live the sinful lifestyle like using drugs we are to run away.

Prayer: Please Jehovah Rohi (God our Sheppard) please guide me to those living in the filth of sin and provide the opportunity to guide them into Your beautiful sunlight of love. If they enjoy the filth, give me the strength and wisdom to walk away knowing there is nothing I can say or do to change their ways. Thank you my beloved for Your wonderful warm sunshine of love that has blessed me so much. I ask this in the name of He who is the light of the world Jesus Christ. Amen.

A Fools Crown

They give you nothing.

I live in a culture where they promise you anything to get you to do what they want you to do but have no intention of fulfilling their end of the bargain. They will make great promises to do great things for you if you do this or that for them. After you have done as they requested they suddenly get amnesia and don’t remember making those promises, even when they are written down.

I like to let them be blow hards in front of other people while a recorder is taping it. It puffs up their ego. Then I inform them I will gladly do as they want me to for them once they have delivered on their promises. I say things like you are a man or woman of respect and honour. I want to give you the privilege of showing everybody just how great of a respectable and honorable man or woman you are and refuse to budge. They lose a lot of face and anytime they try that con again I just remind them of their previous promises and eagerly await the day they are going to do all those wonderful things for me.

A little lie only lead to a bigger lie which leads to a bigger lie which ends up crowning you with a fools crown before all. Joseph- Antony: Green

I Never Had

Think of it.

I am glad I never had and certainly now do not have everything I want. Because of this I have everything I need.

Think of it.

If I had a mansion for a home, no aches or pains, money coming out of my ears, a gorgeous babe that was a sex mink, a fancy sports car I wouldn’t need Jesus.

If I do not have Jesus I do not have what I need the most in my life. I do not have the most fantastic love life there is, a loving relationship with Jesus.

Whenever I have a need I come humbly to my King and ask. What He has taught me in many years of following Him is that He always supplies generously. He is abundantly generous with His spiritual gifts and opportunities to serve Him.

And you know what the end product of this is?

The most peace and joy you can experience nowhere else with no one else.

Prayer:Thank you Jehovah El Shaddai (God who is sufficient for the needs of His people) for all the marvelous abundance You so generously give to me day by day to meet all my needs. The Two Kings.

The two kings.

But be very careful to keep the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the Lord gave you: to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to keep his commands, to hold fast to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.” Joshua 22:25 New International Version

Saul began his kingship being blessed by God. As time progressed however he was more concerned about pleasing himself than pleasing God. Over time he became angry, bitter and paranoid. He ended his life being cursed by God. The same is true with people. I see people that are very self centered or people pleasers. They are the most miserable, saddest and angriest people I have ever met.

David on the other hand was solely devoted to God and he was blessed including the most marvelous blessing of all, knowing that the king of kings would come from his linage. The people I have met that walk with God life lives full of love, peace and joy. One of which is myself.

Christians are called to take action in their life, not be spectators. Joseph- Anthony: Green

Which one are you living?

Prayer: Thank you Jesus Pryyand (Jesus my friend) for developing a close loving relationship with You. It is the most special blessing. All in the People.

It’s all in the people.

But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today Hebrews 3:13 NewInternational Version

People will either bring you up or bring you down.

Are you having problems with your marriage or relationships? Then why do you hang out with people that go through marriages like a turnstile? They will bring down your marriage like an elevator that has its cables broke and you are on the thirtieth floor. Why not learn from people who have been through the tough times? Talk with them, listen to them and emulate them.

Are you working your fingers to the bone and in debt up to your eyeballs? Then why are you hanging out with the “in crowd” that has to have all the toys and gadgets? They are going down so slow they don’t even know it.

Why not make friends with people who are content with little and learn their secrets (which aren’t really secret but you need to learn from them)?

Oh sure these men and women may seem geeky and old fashioned sometimes but they have something you don’t have but want: peace.

Then you will be someone who people will want to get on your elevator because it is going up.

Prayer: Please Jehovah Jireh (God our Provider) allocate me with the opportunities and wisdom to be one who opens the door and welcomes in others on the elevator that is going all the way up to Heaven. Heal My Heart

Not only are they unrepentant.

We need to look at both sides of the coin.

It is their own fault.

I just read an article about how many old people are living very lonely lives and die alone. The comments were very condemning towards their children.

I would like to give the flip side of the coin.

How many parents were abusive to their children? When the children become adults they try to get the parents to apologize. The parents refuse with the old “I don’t remember, that was so long ago, you have to get over it, and or you have to forgive.” Not only are they unrepentant but if the children try to take them in to live with them in their old age alls they do is cause trouble.

How many adults need to go into therapy because of the abuse their parents did to them?

I once read an article that said seventy percent of adults had issues with their parents and the issue was the parents being unrepentant of the abuse they did to them when they were children.

When I was a volunteer in an old folks home I used to see some residents sit there and do nothing but cry all day long because they were lonely. When their children would come to visit them (which was rarely) I would politely scold them and ask them to visit more often. You would see a lot of anger in their eyes as they would always say the same thing “You don’t know what they did to me as a child.” When I would try to befriend the old people they were very demanding and yes abusive (like throwing food at me just because they couldn’t have their own way). Their loneliness was self inflicting.

I know of this in marriages, between siblings and between the good time friends (the ones that use you and abuse you and when they can’t get anymore from you they throw you away like yesterdays garbage). It is so sad to see the innocent suffer.

It is so sad but we need to look at both sides of the coin.

Are you an adult that was abused by your parents but they refuse to apologize for it? Don’t feel guilty because your parents are all alone in an old folks home. It is their own fault.

Are you being abusive with your children and or other people? Are you a troll on websites like this that like to make mean and cruel remarks? Be careful, you will regret it in your old age.

As I have observed, those who plow evil and those who sow trouble reap it. Job 4:8 New International Version

Prayer: Please Jehovah Ropheka (God our healer) heal the broken relationships in my life and heal my heart from the hurt caused by unrepentant and abusive people. I achingly ask this in the name of the greatest healer Jesus Christ. Amen.

To Do It.

It is just as important to do it.

“Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it” Luke 11:28 New International Version

It is one thing to hear God speak to you, it is just as important to do it.

Think of a child.

The parent informs them it is important to go outside in the cold rain with a coat on.

They hear but do not obey.

What is the end result?

They get sick.

So too it is with God.

When He instructs you to do something it is for your own good.

If you refuse to obey Him you will suffer for it.

When you are suffering why be stupid and crybaby to God: “Why are you doing this to me?”

Now how are you going to hear the word of God if you are sitting in front of the idiot box instead of reading your Bible or listening to sermons online?

“Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.“Psalm 37:4 New International Version

As you delight in doing Gods will in your life, your desires will turn from whining for God to give to you but for God to change your desires to do for Him. When you do this your life will be filled with joy, purpose and meaning.

Then you will get the blessings God intends for you to get.

“Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” Matthew 6:25–34 New International Version

Prayer: Holy Spirit my mentor, please give me the wisdom to not just hear the word but to do it. I humbly ask in the name of He who obeyed the Fathers will during His earthly ministry Jesus Christ. Amen.

How can you find God if you are not looking for Him?

How can you find God if you are not looking for Him?

How can you find God?

When you read your Bible and daily devotionals like : Our Daily Bread and Acts International by Dick Innes, when you listen to sermons online like sermonsaudio.com, when you talk with other Christians and listen to Christian music like on JoyFmonline.org or Prasie1065.com God will speak to you.

When He speaks to you listen to Him, talk with Him about like He is your best friend. Then obey what He is guiding you to do. Then you will develop the most amazing love affair. You will enjoy spending time with Him
