But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7 Holy Bible Amplified Version
In this situation Samuel saw big strong young men but Jehovah saw what was in their hearts. Samuel would never have chosen the runt of the litter (David).
Later on when a loud mouth (Goliath) challenged them and mocked their God (Jehovah) those big strong boys cowered for forty days.
When the runt of the litter (David) saw and heard it, he immediately took action , slew the big mouth and brought glory to Jehovah. He had no sword nor shield but an intense belief in Jehovahs providence.
All the while his wimpy (You know, the big strong brothers) tried to dissuade him and even mocked him.
That is, until David triumphed over the other big mouth ( Goliath ).
Read it for yourself in 1 Samuel 17: 1-50
Jehovah does not look at the candy bar wrapper (the outside or our bodies) and neither should we. Rather He looks at the inside (our spirits) and so should we. Joseph a son of Jehovah
Do not be pressured by the outward appearance of anyone whether it be physical beauty, material wealth or intellect but rather be drawn to those whose hearts are joined together with Jehovah.
