The Highlands of Affliction.

CHRISTS STRENGTH

For our momentary, light distress [this passing trouble] is producing for us an eternal weight of glory [a fullness] beyond all measure [surpassing all comparisons, a transcendent splendor and an endless blessedness]! 2 Corinthians 4:17 The Holy Bible Amplified Version

Those who say that being a Christian is easy are definitely not a Christian.

Being a Christian means a lifetime of suffering. We will be rejected, mocked and be going through constant trials and tribulations.

This is good because it makes us dependent upon Jehovah which draws us ever closer unto Him.

As well, it strengthens our Christian walk.

It is also good because when we encounter hurting folks we can share with them the amazing things Jehovah has done through our tough times.

The other benefit is that we will not desire for this world but rather for the home in which our Heavenly Father has prepared for us.

“The Lord gets his best soldiers out of the highlands of affliction.” — Charles H. Spurgeon

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah ‘Uzam (The Lord is our Strength in Trouble) for blessing me with Your Divine strength to make through the tough times and for using those tough times to strengthen Your loving child and well as the life changing lessons learned through these fiery times. I exalt You in the name of He who suffered the worst affliction for me Jesus Christ. Amen

May you be blessed with the gift of love, the gift of peace, the gift of joy. May you be blessed with numerous opportunities to share these gifts with others today.

They are going to Have a Feast.

The eye that mocks a father And scorns a mother, The ravens of the valley will pick it out, And the young vultures will devour it. Proverbs 30:17 Holy Bible Amplified Version

From what I have seen being a live in care giver for my mom and a volunteer at a seniors home I would say they are going to have a feast.

So many of all ages gleefully throw their elderly or handicapped parents into a hell hole called a seniors home. I know most are very good at the level of care they provide but the living environment leaves much to be desired. I have seen many only come to visit when they want money and then treat their mother scornfully (to scorn means open dislike and disrespect or derision often mixed with indignation. To treat them with derision means the use of ridicule to show contempt and contempt means a strong dislike. I have seen many children and grandchildren treat their mothers like they had the plague. And, indignation means to be angry. The children and grandchildren are angry because their mother is still alive because they want her money in their inheritance. To mock means to to treat with contempt or ridicule. I have seen many make fun of their fathers infirmity in their elder years.

I have seen children blackmail their parents “If you want me to come and help you, you have to pay me.” If you want me to bring the grandchildren over you have to give me money.” This is all disgusting in the eyes of the Lord and they shall pay severely.

Now granted many parents were abusive to their children but we are to forgive them, that does not mean we are not to hold them accountable. If they refuse to repent, which means admit what they did, admit it was wrong, apologize and stop doing it, then we are to have nothing to do with them. If reconciliation is not important to them then it should not be important to us.

However to abuse them when they are in need is just as wrong in Jehovahs eyes.

That does not mean ravens will actually pluck out their eyes but that they will pay for their abhorrent behavior.

Prayer: Please Jehovah Abba (God our Father) just as you lovingly care for me instill in my heart a desire and will to be respectful, loving and caring to my parent so as to bring glory to You. I humbly request this in the name of Your most loving, respectful son Jesus Christ. Amen

May the gentle assurance of Jesus’ sweet love encompass you today and every day.

Have Overtaken Me.

HE AND HIS ANGELS ARE THERE

Trouble and anguish have overtaken me, Yet Your commandments are my delights. Psalm 119:143 New King James Version

It ain’t easy being a Christian.

You are going against the tide.

As such you can expect to experience a lot of ridicule, prejustice, and hostility including from your own family.

When I was in China many Chinese who became Christians were completely cut off from their families. If they went back home they were ridiculed, ostracized and even suffered violence by their own families. At school and work no one will even talk with them and they are constantly ridiculed. They had truly given up everything for Christ.

I wonder how many Christians in the west would suffer like that?

When you become a Christian Satan is not going to celebrate he is going to attack and the closer you get to Christ the more the attacks and the more severe they are. Joseph- Anthony: Green

“Jesus hath many lovers of His heavenly Kingdom, but few bearers of His Cross. He hath many desirous of consolation, but few of tribulation. Many love Jesus so long as no adversities befall them.” — Thomas à Kempis

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Shalom (God of our peace) for blessing me with Your divine strength, peace and wisdom to withstand the attack that satan throws at me and for the most delightful experience of helping me be an obedient child to the One who loves me with a divine love. I praise You in the name of He who showed me Your most beautiful love Jesus Christ Amen.

May the sunshine of Jesus sweet love bless you today and every day

Do All in the Name Of.

awsome exploding pink red and yellow rose

And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Colossians 3:17 New King James Version

Every day I pray for the Lord to guide my words and actions that it will bring praise and glory to Him. That is all that counts to me.

Others may ridicule me and chastise me but I do not care, I am secure in knowing hat I am pleasing He whom I love dearly.  And believe me, in todays world there is a lot more chastisement and ridicule than praise.

“How would telling people to be nice to one another get a man crucified? What government would execute Mister Rodgers or Captain Kangaroo?” Philip Yancey

When some praise me I am sure to deflect the praise to Christ.

And you know what?

For every opportunity that arises no matter how big or small when I serve my Master my heart is so filled with blissfulness I cannot but help just close my eyes right there on the spot and joyfully thank Him for the blessing of serving Him by serving others.

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Heseh (God of love) for the numerous opportunities You bless me with throughout the day to serve others in love and so serve You. I praise You for the amazing privilege in the name of my wonderful king Jesus Christ. Amen.

May the sunshine of Jesus sweet love bless you today and every day
