Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].For by this [kind of] faith the men of old gained [divine] approval. By faith [that is, with an inherent trust and enduring confidence in the power, wisdom and goodness of God] we understand that the worlds (universe, ages) were framed and created [formed, put in order, and equipped for their intended purpose] by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible. Hebrews 11:1-3 Holy Bible, Amplified Version
Another word for faith is trust.
When Jehovah makes a promise to us we may not see its fruition for years or indeed even decades. We trust our Lord at His word.
I cannot count the number of times Jehovah has accomplished incredible things in my life and through my life. Many times I would stand back in awe and wonder at how some of these things were accomplished.
Now there is no wonder but there is still incredible awe at just what my Heavenly Father accomplishes in my life and through my life. It never ceases to amaze me.
There have been many times when the Lord made a promise to me only for me to inform Him that that is not possible. It has taken numerous years to accept the fact that nothing is impossible for Him. Now I wait in anticipation not that He will do it but I want to see the magnificent manner in which He will do it. Our God is truly an amazing God.
“Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible, and receives the impossible.” — Corrie ten Boom
