The Highlands of Affliction.

CHRISTS STRENGTH

For our momentary, light distress [this passing trouble] is producing for us an eternal weight of glory [a fullness] beyond all measure [surpassing all comparisons, a transcendent splendor and an endless blessedness]! 2 Corinthians 4:17 The Holy Bible Amplified Version

Those who say that being a Christian is easy are definitely not a Christian.

Being a Christian means a lifetime of suffering. We will be rejected, mocked and be going through constant trials and tribulations.

This is good because it makes us dependent upon Jehovah which draws us ever closer unto Him.

As well, it strengthens our Christian walk.

It is also good because when we encounter hurting folks we can share with them the amazing things Jehovah has done through our tough times.

The other benefit is that we will not desire for this world but rather for the home in which our Heavenly Father has prepared for us.

“The Lord gets his best soldiers out of the highlands of affliction.” — Charles H. Spurgeon

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah ‘Uzam (The Lord is our Strength in Trouble) for blessing me with Your Divine strength to make through the tough times and for using those tough times to strengthen Your loving child and well as the life changing lessons learned through these fiery times. I exalt You in the name of He who suffered the worst affliction for me Jesus Christ. Amen

May you be blessed with the gift of love, the gift of peace, the gift of joy. May you be blessed with numerous opportunities to share these gifts with others today.

Cling to Him.

Trust and take refuge in the Lord! [Be confident in Him, cling to Him, rely on His word!] Psalm 115:9 Holy Bible Amplified Version

Have you ever been out hiking and are hit with a monster storm with little or no warning?

When I was hiking a trail in the west coast of Canada on a section that was one the shore of the ocean a huge storm hit with little warning. I barely had time to crawl into a cave atop this huge rock. All night the waves smashed against that rock but the water never reached more than the lip of the cave. If the waves had of come thundering in there I would have been crushed to death instantly. There was a feeling of peace and that everything was going to be alright. I did not know it then but that was the voice of the Holy Spirit comforting and assuring me. Consequently there was a blessed great sleep after a hard days hiking while the storm raged outside of that cave.

It is a lesson I pray shall never be forgotten.

So too it is when the storms of life come crashing in on us and it feels as if we are doomed for total destruction. No one can or will help us. Our money cannot help us. Our intelligence cannot help us.

Why is it then and only then that so many wait until then to call upon Jehovah for help?

We as Christians all go through that experience when we are babies but the more experience we have with our Beloved Father in Heaven the more we should confide in Him and have total trust in Him. I know I have and it has brought a lot of peace, wisdom and strength to face those storms. I cling to Him like a frightened child clings to an adult they love and trust and He never lets me down.

Whatever your heart clings to and confides in, that is really your God.” Martin Luther

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Emunah (God is faithful) for always being faithful towards Your beloved child in every aspect of my life. I exalt You in the name of Your most faithful Son Jesus Christ. Amen.

May the gentle assurance of Jesus’ sweet love encompass you today and every day.

The Preacher Must Be Taught.

BE AN ANT

“For the lips of a priest should keep knowledge, And people should seek the law from his mouth; For he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts. Malachi 2:7 New King James Version

Before giving any sermon or lesson in group study the preacher (that is another name for teacher) must be taught the meaning of the Scripture that is being reviewed and how to guide his sheep into putting the application of it into their daily lives. This is something that must be repeated lesson by lesson.

For me if the Holy Spirit does not open my eyes to what is to be learned for my personal life or to share with others in my writing I find it impossible to write two words in an article.

Now this is not the sole domain of preachers.

It is the same method that is to be applied in daily meditation of scripture of the individual.

Prayer: Please Jehovah KalEl (voice of God) guide me in Your divine wisdom so as to enlighten Your cherished children when leading in sermons, Bible study groups or when guiding others to You. I sincerely request this in the name of the greatest teacher Jesus Christ. Amen.

May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
