Biblical Authority and Jesus

The apostle Paul accepted the fact that the Word of God was inspired, incorruptible, indestructible and indispensable.

“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

Since “all Scripture is inspired by God,” then no scripture is uninspired.

It is God-breathed, breathed into by God, or inspired.

The Jewish rabbis taught that the Spirit of God rested on and in the prophets and spoke through them so that their words did not come from themselves, but from the mouth of God. These men spoke and wrote in the Holy Spirit. The New Testament church was in full agreement with this view of inspiration.

Literally, the apostle Paul says, “All Scripture, or every Scripture, is God-breathed.” It is God inspired. The Bible is the authoritative Word of God because it is divinely authorized. God inspired it. The whole Old Testament is divinely inspired. Extensions of the same claim to the New Testament is not expressly stated, however it is more than merely implied. The New Testament is no less authoritative than the Old Testament. The apostles expressly declared their inspired proclamation to be the Word of God (1 Cor. 4:12 Cor. 5:201 Thess. 2:13).

When you accept the plenary, or full, inspiration of the Scripture God’s superintendence of the whole implies inerrancy of the content.

The inerrancy of the Scriptures is consistent with what the Bible says about itself. The whole Bible is “the seat of authority.” The historical evangelical position is the divine inspiration, complete trustworthiness, and full authority of the Bible. Scripture is authoritative and fully trustworthy because it is inspired by God.

The divine authority of the Scriptures rests eventually and solely on it’s being God-breathed. The Scriptures are God-breathed in all its parts.

We believe in biblical inerrancy and infallibility. With confidence we confess faith in the divine origin of the Bible. It is completely truthful and trustworthy.

The New Testament is no less authoritative because it is the fulfillment of the Old. Jesus, the apostles, the early church, all clearly agreed that the Old Testament was absolutely trustworthy. They are authoritative because they are God’s fully inspired Word. The authority of the Bible is divine authority. God is the author.

The doctrine of plenary, verbal inspiration stresses that the Holy Spirit acted in relationship with the biblical writers so as to render them infallible revealers of God’s truth. We can therefore have complete confidence in God’s infallible Word. The New English Bible says, “It was not through any human whim that men prophesied of old; men they were, but, impelled by the Holy Spirit they spoke the words of God.”

Why the importance of the doctrine of inerrancy in a day when most people detest moral authority? This great doctrine of Christianity avoids instability in expounding authoritative doctrine and morals.

In our day it is in vogue to who claim to honor the authority of Jesus Christ rather than the authority of Scripture. This is to contradict Jesus’ teaching, since Jesus held a high view of Scripture. It is illogical to pick and choose from the teaching of Jesus during His earthly ministry only those elements that serve one’s own presuppositions. To do so would be to reject the full trustworthiness of Scriptures. How would you know the Jesus you worship is the same as the one the Scriptures declares to be the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world? Without His resurrection we are still in our sins.

Remove the doctrine of full divine inspiration and inerrancy of the Scriptures in whole and in part and you effectively remove any reason why a person’s life ought to be transformed by Jesus Christ. You can then live any life-style you so desire. The great tragedy in our day in that is exactly what many in the church are doing. You cannot tell the difference between the Christian and non-Christian in today’s society.

SELAH! Pause – reflect- just think of that!

I Devote Myself To

Today I devote myself to prayer.

To devote yourself means to make a commitment.

Right after I wake up very morning I devote myself to prayer.

To devote myself to pray and say good morning I love you to those that are nearest to my heart: Jehovah, Jesus and The Holy Spirit.

To devote myself for thanking them for watching over me while I slept.

To devote myself to thank them for a good nights sleep.

To devote myself to ask them for guidance throughout the day.

To devote myself to thanking them throughout the day for all the abundant blessings they give me both big and small.

To devote myself to praying to them and repenting when I do wrong and guide me on how to make it right if I have offended them or others.

To devote myself to praying to them and thanking them for walking with me through out the day.

I pray with complete confidence they enjoy listening to me and indeed answering me. I am praying to you because I know you will answer, O God. Bend down and listen as I pray. Psalms 17:6 The Holy Bible, The New Living Translation

So, for all of you that are curious why I am almost always happy ( even when it seems like everything is going to Hell in a hand cart ) , now you know the reason why.

Yes, there are times of sadness, pain and or fear but when I devote myself to talking it out with Jesus, He always blesses me with peace and confidence that everything is under His control. And, because He loves me, everything is going to be all right.

Why not give it a try every day for a month and see how much your life transforms for the better?

You Have Made A

O my God Who is right and good! You have made a way for me when I needed help. Psalms 4: 1 The Holy Bible The New Century Version

There are many times when it appears as if it does not seem which way we turn it always leads to disaster. You are at your wits end. That is when we cry out to Jehovah for direction and deliverance.

From my experience, He always provides a simple solution that makes you wonder why you did not think of that. It always makes me laugh.

Prayer: Oh thank you so very much my Beloved Jehovah Ori (Psalms 27:1 The LORD My Light ) for lighting my daily path in a very dark world. You light is always the best brilliantly shining light to follow not just in our over all life but in our daily life as well. I praise You in the name of The Light of The World, Jesus Christ. Amen

Will be Repaid Many Times Over

Yes,” Jesus replied, “and I assure you that everyone who has given up house or wife or brothers or parents or children, for the sake of the Kingdom of God, will be repaid many times over in this life, and will have eternal life in the world to come.” Luke 18: 29- 30 The Holy Bible, The New Living Translation

This is the best retirement investment there is.

When we give up everything for Christ, He will give us everything we need to live a comfortable life in our elder years. Joseph a son of Jehovah

I have made plans for my retirement that went up in smoke.

There was land purchased in my younger years that was taken away from me to by the politically correct. I lost all my dreams when I lost that.

Then I fell for what I now believe were scams by an investment company and went broke. Being a slow learner, it took three times before understanding that investment was a scam. Again my dreams were shattered.

When I dedicated my life to service unto our Heavenly King He sent me all over the world serving under very strenuous circumstances with little materially to show for the years of effort. There was deep concern that my final years would be spent living the paupers life with nothing to show for decades of service as old age crept in.

It was taken to my Heavenly Love and He reassured me with Bible verse after Bible verse for about three hours that He would bless me in this life as well as our eternal one.

One night Jesus gave me a dream that I was walking down a dark deserted street and was homeless. Then a rich man came to me and softly demanded I follow Him. He took me to an apartment that had nice clothes in it, the apartment was nice and there was food in the refrigerator and in the cupboards. Then He informed me that as long as I was obedient unto Him I would never be homeless, wear rags or have an empty belly.

He has been true to His word then, I am sure He is good for it now that the elder years are creeping ever faster in this old boys life.

Prayer: Thank you Jesus Ghmolah ( The God of Recompense. Job 11:20 ) that even though it looks like I am being a sucker and many times being abused in my service unto You, I believe Your promise to me to always take care of me including when I am in Your beautiful Heavenly home You have graciously prepared for me. It is in Your wonderful name I thank you. Amen

May you be blessed daily with the faith in our Heavenly provider that He always provides for all your needs. Joseph a son of Jehovah

We are Channels made For

Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.” Luke 6:38 The Holy Bible, The New Living Translation

I like Jehovahs investment plans. They are not like societies investment plans of gimme, gimme, gimme.

So many today foolishly believe that they are entitled and that we owe them because of their sexuality, colour, religion or sexual preference.

Then, there are the financial institutions that are quick to accept your money but good luck on getting it out, read service charges out of your ying yang which to me is legal thievery.

And, of course , there is the biggest bandits of all, the government. How many times do we pay for services and get substandard service in return, read we have a legal system not a justice system, look at our schools,. Then there is the fun of collecting unemployment insurance when you are laid off or compensation when you are hurt at work.

With Jehovah you get what you give.

No freeloaders allowed. If you give nothing, you receive nothing. If you give a little, you receive a little. If you give generously, you shall receive generously.

“God has given us two hands: one to receive with and the other to give with. We are not cisterns made for hoarding; we are channels made for giving.” Billy Graham

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Jireh ( God provides Philippians 4:19 ) for Your abundant graces You bless me with through out the day. Please bless me with the opportunities to share them where You guide me to with as much joy to share them as it is to receive them. I exalt You and beseech You in the name of Your greatest blessing in my life, Jesus Christ. Amen.

May you be blessed with twice as many opportunities to share as you have to receive this day and every day. Joseph a son of Jehovah
