“Take heed and be careful, do not turn to wickedness, For you have chosen this [the vice of complaining against God] rather than [learning from] affliction. Job 36:21 The Holy Bible Amplified Version
Have you ever been around a Whining Wendy? You know the type, they only cry baby about how hard their life is. They can suck the joy out of you faster than a vacuum cleaner.
If you think that is a terrible experience for you, think of how it feels to Jehovah when those who are supposed to be His children are always complaining to Him and never thanking Him.
Here is the thing though, when you are a whine puppy you have nothing but dark clouds around you and infect those around you. No one wants to be around you, do you think Jehovah does?
When you are grateful for even the smallest of blessings you have the sunshine of joy in your heart no matter what your circumstances are.
That sunshine will guide others to the source of the brightest sunshine of joy of all, Jehovah. Take time every morning and evening to thank Jehovah for every blessing you can think that He has shared with you. As you develop this habit you will find yourself thanking Jehovah more and more throughout the day. It takes practice and commitment but after a while it becomes as natural as breathing.
“Every generation of Christians has to learn that whining is an affront against God’s sovereignty and goodness.”D. A. Carson
Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Jireh ( God provides ) for Your unlimited grace You have abundantly provide for me every day. May my heart be filled with gratitude towards You every moment of every day. I heartfeltedly thank You in the name of He who always had a heart of gratitude towards You to show how it was done when He walked amongst us Jesus Christ. AMEN
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love fill your heart today and every day. Joseph a son of Jehovah
Now Sarai, Abram’s wife, had borne him no children. But she had an Egyptian slave named Hagar; so she said to Abram, “The Lord has kept me from having children. Go, sleep with my slave; perhaps I can build a family through her.”
Abram agreed to what Sarai said. So after Abram had been living in Canaan ten years, Sarai his wife took her Egyptian slave Hagar and gave her to her husband to be his wife. He slept with Hagar, and she conceived.
When she knew she was pregnant, she began to despise her mistress. Then Sarai said to Abram, “You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering. I put my slave in your arms, and now that she knows she is pregnant, she despises me. May the Lord judge between you and me.” Genesis 16:1-5 New International Version
When Sari nagged Abram to have sex with her slave to have a child and when the slave became pregnant she lorded it over Sari. Then Sari blamed Abram.
Why was it his fault?
Was she not the one that did not have faith in Jehovah and decided to take matters into her own hands? Was it not her that constantly nagged Abram to impregnate the slave even though she was told that the blessed child would come from her womb?
When she paid the consequences she blamed someone else.
How many times do we do that?
We do not have faith in Jehovah or patience with Him and take matters into our own hands. When things go wrong we always find someone else to blame.
The mantra of every narcissist is : “This is not my fault, it is your fault!” Joseph- Anthony: Green
It could be in looking for a marriage partner, looking for employment or a place to live but we always need to take it to Jehovah in prayer first, wait for His reply second and finally to be obedient to His guidance when He answers.
Prayer: Please Jehovah Shalom (God of peace) grant me the wisdom to always be willing to accept reasonability for my reckless actions and to have the wisdom to take the necessary action needed to rectify my mistake so that there is peace with You, my nieghbour and in my spirit. I meekly request this in the name of He who helped Peter become right with the Master on the seashore Jesus Christ. Amen.
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
In Exodus twenty one because the people angered Jehovah with their constant whining He brought serpents into their camp and many died.
Does the snake of whining or bitterness or greed or mean spiritness bite your heart and poison your relationship with Jehovah and with others?
Just as the people were healed when they looked to the bronze snake on a stake are we not healed when we look to Jesus on the cross with a repentant heart?
You cannot eat strawberries if you plant lemons. If you are bitter like a lemon you will end up alone and drink plentifully of the bitterness you have sown. If you plant the sweetness of love, you will be blessed with an abundant harvest of sweet love. Joseph- Anthony: Green.
Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Chanan (God is our provider) for all the abundant blessings You have so generously given me. Please cultivate within me a heart filled with the deep sweet nectar of appreciativeness every day for Your numerous blessings both big and small. I humbly ask this in the name of He who was always appreciative of the daily bread You blessed Him with as He walked amongst us Jus Christ. Amen.
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
Complaining is infectious, contagious. Have you ever been around a negative Nellie? All she does is complain. Either it is too hot or too cold. We need rain or it is raining out. She can take the sails out of your cherry day in five minutes. Complaining changes your attitude. You become a very negative person. Usually it is manipulative theft. They complain about things in their life to get you to have pity on them. This gives them affection while they give you nothing in return.
I politely try to have a positive attitude with them. If they refuse to change their attitude I strongly but politely inform them their attitude is not welcome and if all they want to do is be negative go whine to someone else. Either their attitude changes or they avoid me.
Either way, problem solved.
Nagging is destructive
Nagging is destructive to relationships. If anything you do is never good enough you reach the point of not trying. Usually I just step back and ask them to show me a better way. Most times they shut up and leave me alone. They would rather nag than help reach a constructive solution. How many children have given up because of a nagging parent?
As a teacher I see it a lot. I always try to be positive and encouraging with far superior results
Doubting is destructive
Doubting is destructive not only to you but to everyone around you. How many times has a great plan everyone is hyped up to start crash and burn because one doubting Dave destroys it with his negativity.
How many times I have experienced people tell me if I tried something it would fail. People told me I would fail when I tried tree planting. After thirteen years I planted over a million trees all across Canada.
When I informed people I was going to bicycle from Canada to Mexico everybody laughed and told me I would fail. It took me three months to complete the trip. The list goes on and on
If you feel Jehovah is guiding you to do something do not listen to the doubting Daves. Go for it believing He will always provide you with the tools to succeed.
Wandering is humbling
Wandering is humbling because you usually take small baby steps away from the path Jesus has chosen for you to take in your service to Him. One day it will be like a exploding flash of lightening just how far you have wandered. The devil will laugh and tell you Jesus is angry with you and does not love you anymore. Do not believe that filthy liar. Jesus loves you and anxiously waits for you to return to Him. Such incredible love is very humbling.
Prayer: Oh wonderful Abba please do not allow me to spread infectious diseases, but rather I humbly give my life to you to guide to accomplish Your mission for my life. In Jesus’ wonderful name I ask Amen
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
In the entire Book of Judges after Joshua died the Israelites went on to worship the idols of the people they did not conquer. As a consequence Jehovah sent a lot of tribulation to them. When they repented He took the persecution away. Once the Lord blessed them, then like dumbo’s, they went right back to idol worshipping.
Are we not guilty of the same goof ups?
We get comfortable in the Lords blessings and start worshipping the blessing instead of Jehovah?
Let us say you are blessed with a contract where you can live a comfortable life, do you start to worship the things this comfortable life brings you like your house or car more instead of Jehovah?
Do you consider it more important to wash the car than spending time in Bible Study?
Do you spend more time taking care of your house than in taking care of the disadvantaged in society?
Is it any wonder that Jehovah takes His blessings away from you?
You repent and Jehovah send His blessings to you and again you turn from Him.
You need not look into ancient history.
Just look at the times before the great depression and then the great depression.
Look at every time before we have had a reccetion and see how much we had abundance.
There is a saying: “When times are hard, the churches are full. When times are good the churches are empty.”
Is it not better to live in gratitude for Christ in both the sunshine and the rain?
Prayer: Jesus Pryyand (Jesus my friend) I love to spend time with You when the times are good and appreciate even more the times You are with me when the times are bad. I sing hallelujah with a joyous gratitude filled heart in Your beautiful name. Amen.
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life. Matthew 19:29 New King James Version
Just as Christ gave up everything for us so too must we be willing to give up all for Him.
Think of it like this: you are living in a mansion with servants and living a fantastic life.
Would you voluntarily surrender that to live with the poor in filthy slums?
On top of that you know that many people will make fun of you, torture you and ultimately force you to die a painful humiliating death?
That is what Jesus did for us in leaving His mansion in Heaven to live amongst us.
He was made fun of, was tortured and died a humiliating and painful death so that we would have the privilege of enjoying our mansion in Heaven.
So when Christ calls you to give up a comfortable life to serve Him are you going to whine about it or thank Him for the privilege of serving such a magnificent and loving King?
In my service to Him I have been called to live in very difficult circumstances and it only developed a deeper and closer relationship with Him. When I reflect on the past thirty years of suffering it is impossible to do without thinking of the wonderful closeness I was blessed with, with our King and am in great gratitude for Him for it.
And whenever you are experiencing your tribulation and sorrow (and you will experience tribulation) just remember what Jesus experienced for you.
Prayer: Please Jehovah Adonai (The Lord is sovereign) help me to surrender my life completely to Your sovereign will. I know You know what is best for me and how best to serve You. I humbly beseech You in the name of he who gave up His heavenly throne for us Jesus Christ. Amen.
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
