And Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” Luke 23:34 Holy Bible, Amplified Version
Who are they?
Have you ever wondered that?
Just who was Jesus asking to be forgiven?
I do not believe it was the scribes nor the Pharisee’s. They knew what they were doing and history proves they were punished severely for their actions.
Then, who are they?
I believe it was the Roman soldiers who were responsible for beating and crucifying Christ. To them, they did not realize just who Jesus was. He was just another criminal to them. They were doing their job and would have been brutally punished if they refused to obey
. How many are in the same situation when they harshly treat Christians in a country where they are not well known? To them the Christians are just trouble makers and upset the stability of the country where they live. Do you think they will be forgiven as well?
Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Elohay Mishpat (the God of Justice!) that I need not fret over true justice being met out when left in Your Divine hands. I praise You in the name of the Supreme Judge Jesus Christ. Amen
Wishing you A house full of sunshine, Hearts full of cheer, Love that grows deeper each day of the year.Welsh blessing
Jesse replied, “There is still one left, the youngest; he is tending the sheep.” 1 Samuel 16 Holy Bible, Amplified Version
There was a man of the Bible in my life, his name was David.
Just as he was the runt of the litter , the youngest and not much was expected of him so too was I. Just as he both had a heart for Jehovah so did he and so have I. Just as he spent a lot of time in the wilderness so have I. Just as it was in the wilderness he was trained to lead so was I ( for me it was a teacher while for him it was a leader of a nation).
But Ruth clung to her. Ruth 1:13-15 Holy Bible, Amplified Version
There was a woman named Ruth who stayed and took care of her mother while the other wife went back to the world so have I returned home to care for my elderly disabled mother while my sibling is deeply in the world.
Now, we are not exactly alike but there are numerous similarities in these two people to resonate with in me. You see, the more you read your Bible, the more you will find yourself in it. So please do not insult me and say the Bible is irreverent in your life.
Who is there in the Bible that resembles you?
Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Jehovah Abba (God our Father) for revealing unto my through Your Divine Word that You have adopted me into Your Holy family and have provided a beautiful fitting name for me. I praise You in the name of Your most beautiful Son Jesus Christ. Amen.
May the gentle assurance of Jesus’ sweet love encompass you today and every day.
Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?” Job 2:10 Holy Bible, New King James Version Sorry to bust the bubble of those who believe Jesus is a genie who only live to give us our hearts desires but when you are a true Christian expect to experience a lot of adversity in your walk to Heaven. “Persecution for righteousness’ sake is what every child of God must expect.” Charles Simeon That however is a blessing not a curse. You see in my life this is the pattern that has been with me since my walk to Heaven began: The closer you get to Jehovah the more satan is going to torment you and persecute you in the belief that you will be weak and the suffering too strong and give up your walk with Christ. That is partly true. We are weaker than satan but nothing or no one is stronger that Christ. So when persecution and hard times come it drives a Christian to our knees in prayer to Christ. He will abundantly supply us with the power to overcome. That in turn creates a heart that overflows with love and respect for Jesus which draws us closer to Him. The closer we get to Christ the more we are going to suffer. The more we suffer, the closer we get to Christ. Joseph- Anthony: Green When I was in Asia and informed Christians there that I was a Christian the first question they asked was:” How much have you suffered for Christ?” Returning to the west it is sad to say that the majority of so called Christians I have met are marshmallow Christians. They want the blessings of Christ but are not prepared to endure the sufferings. “The early church was married to poverty, prisons and persecutions. Today, the church is married to prosperity, personality, and popularity Leonard Ravenhill Although I do not enjoy the suffering I am eternally grateful for them because it is through them that I have been blessed with a close intimacy with Jehovah, Jesus and the Holy Spirit that could not and would not have occurred any other way. Prayer: Thank you Jehovah-‘Uzam (The Lord is our Strength in Trouble) for blessing me with Your divine strength, comfort and peace during the times of satanic attack by his wicked disciples. I praise You in the name of He who defeated satan in the empty grave Jesus Christ. Amen. May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hurwent to the top of the hill.As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset. So Joshua overcame the Amalekitearmy with the sword.Exodus 17:10-13 Holy Bible, New International Version
We need to help each other as did Aaron and Hur. How many new born Christians walk away from Christ because when they encounter trials or tribulations, sorrows or snares the so called mature Christians not only refuse to help them but stand there and shake their heads and tisk, tisk the babes. How many pastors have walked away because no one was there for them to talk about their problems with?
How can we claim we have the warmth of the love of Christ in our hearts when they are cold to others suffering? Joseph- Anthony: Green
If you turn your back on a brother or sister encountering trials or tribulations, sorrows or snares why do you believe Jehovah will not turn His back on you when the same thing occurs to you. We need to be like Moses and accept help.
To refuse to accept help is because of pride and pride has no place in a Christians heart or life. Joseph- Anthony: Green
Leaders are human too. You do not have all the answers; you cannot handle all the problems in your congregation or personal life alone. No one has that big of shoulders. That goes not just for leaders but for all of us.
The wise listens to wise Christian advice. Joseph- Anthony: Green
Prayer: Please bless me Jehovah Ezer (The LORD our Helper) to always emulate You to be a helper to those in need just as You have always helped me in my time of need. I humble request this in the name of He who always helped others during His earthly walk Jesus Christ. Amen.
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted. Hebrews 2:18 New King James Version
When you are tempted no matter how big or small take it to Jesus.
He himself has suffered temptation.
Think about how hungry He must have felt after fasting that long yet He had the power to resist temptation. Although He was, is and always will be God immortal, He was also human so He understands your temptation.
Have you been betrayed by someone close to you and it cuts you close to the bone?
He Himself has suffered betrayal.
Think of how Jesus felt when He was betrayed by both Judas and Peter? Think how much that must have pierced His loving heart?
Are you being mocked and deserted by family and friends since coming to Christ?
He Himself has suffered rejection.
Think how Jesus felt when His brothers mocked Him in front of crowds of other folks? Do you not believe that cut deep?
Has a loved one recently passed on to the other side?
He Himself has suffered loss.
Think of how Jesus felt when He saw all that sorrow and intense grief at Lazarus’ grave? Do you not think that weighed heavy on His heart? Are wicked characters viciously gossiping about you, slandering you and unfairly criticizing you?
He Himself has suffered the venom of sneaky snakes. Think about how Jesus was constantly attacked, criticized and demonized by the Pharisee’s (who should have known better)?
Are you being treated unfairly for doing what is right?
He Himself has suffered injustice.
Think of how Jesus was brought unfairly to a kangaroo court that had already determined His death sentence before He even walked into the court room.
Think of how Jesus felt when He hung on that cross for all of us through out time?
You are afraid, think of how Jesus felt when in the garden before His trial, beating and excruciating death.
No matter what you are going through, you can always take it to Jesus because He has been there, He has been through it.
We can always take it all to Jesus, He has been there, He cares. Joseph- Anthony: Green
Prayer: Thank you Jesus-Shammah (The Lord is Present) for blessing me with Your comforting, strengthening assuring presence and for enduring all the pain that we experience so as to understand what we are going through. I exalt You in Your loving name. Amen.
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you! Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten. Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have heaped up treasure in the last days. Indeed the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth. James 5:1-4 King James Version
Unfortunately in todays world we too much of workers being paid sub standard wages and getting cheated out of them. Those higher up get away with exorbitant compensation packages even if they run the company into the ground. This is true for both the government and private sector. Enjoy your feast now you filthy pigs. Oh you laugh and foolishly believe you are getting away with it but your day is coming and when it does oh woe to you. I recently read an article where in the seventies the difference between the lowest paid work and the executives was 100% and now it is 1,000% How can they sleep at night is beyond me. Then there are the war pigs who go and start wars in other countries to keep the war machine pumping out money into their pockets. This is done not only at the expense of the invaded country but of the citizens living where the war pigs live (yes this is you Bushes and Reagan’s in the United States. How many of your youths blood do you have on your hands?). I do earnestly pray that Peters vision of Hell is true just to know true justice is done to these horrid creatures and the others that feed off of them. To me this is a sure sign we are closer than ever to the rapture.
When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.” Revelation 6:5-6 King James Version
A denarius was a days wages, barley is what the poor people ate and three quarts was enough to live off of for a day. Only the rich could afford olive oil (and they cheated folks out of their land to grow huge olive groves which they got filthy rich from. The same was true for wine).
How many family farms do we see today?
How many people all around the world are living paycheck to paycheck?
How many rich people have more money per year than many countries GDP?
Prayer: Please Jehovah-Hashopet (The Lord is the supreme Judge) speak into the hearts of the wicked rich ones and move them to do what is right and pay decent livable wages and to be honest so as to avoid facing Your terrible wrath on the day of judgment. I humbly request this in the name of the Supreme Judge Jesus Christ. Amen
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
As we read through the Book of Exodus we see the Israelites curse God and tell Him to leave them alone.
When God delivers them from slavery they bless Him.
When their backs are up against the sea with the Egyptians coming to destroy them they curse God.
When He delivers them they bless Him
So it goes throughout the entire book.
How many times do we do the same thing?
God may bring difficult trials and tribulations to us or allow them to happen and we curse Him. When He delivers us we praise Him.
I have learned the hard way that when the trails and tribulations come to trust Jehovah that He is always there and He see’s the big picture. It not only brings us into a deeper loving relationship but make the trials and tribulations that much more bearable. Another benefit is that it makes me grow more in Him.
Prayer: Please Jehovah ElHeenu (The Lord is our God) discipline me whenever I begin to take one step away from Your presence and insult You during my times of tribulation that in reality is Your blessing to burn off the destructive dross from me to make me more Holy. I always have a deep desire to bless You for I know everything that happens in my life is a blessing from You. I adore You my love for this blessing in the name of He whose blood made this blessing possible Jesus Christ. Amen.
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father Acts 1:4 New King James Version These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers. Acts 1:14 New King James Version NOTE there were women there included in the group.
But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them. Acts 1:14 New King James Version
The best formula I have found in my Christian life is to pray for Jehovah’s blessing to send the Holy Spirit to guide me in any and all decisions in my life.
Jacob did not pray to Jehovah’s guidance and look at the trouble it got him into.
Then we are to continue to pray when waiting for His guidance.
I recently heard a preacher comment on how he would take action after praying. Is that not like asking for directions and then driving off without waiting for the directions?
Is that not what happened to Saul in battle? He did not wait until the prophet arrived and was defeated in battle.
When the course of action to take is given we in faith take action.
Again is it not foolish to ask for driving directions and when given to continue to sit there and ask for directions?
Going ahead of Christ or waiting behind Him is a sure fire recipe for disaster. Joseph- Anthony: Green
Look what happened to the Israelites were told to cross over the Jordan and refused, they all died wandering in the desert for forty years.
Prayer: Oh my beloved Jehovah Yahweh (God of His people) it is so difficult on both sides of the coin
On the one side I do not desire to wait for Your time in Your way in my life. Instead I charge ahead like a stupid bull and get into all kinds of trouble and difficulty because of my stubbornness and stupidity. Please forgive me for this and bless me with the strength and faith to wait for Your time and Your way.
On the opposite side of the coin there has been so many times when You have told me to go and in weak faith I stubbornly refused to move like a mule. Please forgive this stupidity and put dynamite under my feet at these times. I earnestly request these two vital blessings in my moment by moment life in the name of Your son who always completed all Hus duties to You in Your way in Your time, my beloved Jesus Christ Amen.
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
“Take for yourselves twelve men from the people, one man from every tribe, and command them, saying, ‘Take for yourselves twelve stones from here, out of the midst of the Jordan, from the place where the priests’ feet stood firm. You shall carry them over with you and leave them in the lodging place where you lodge tonight.’” Then Joshua called the twelve men whom he had appointed from the children of Israel, one man from every tribe; and Joshua said to them: “Cross over before the ark of the Lord your God into the midst of the Jordan, and each one of you take up a stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel, that this may be a sign among you when your children ask in time to come, saying, ‘What do these stones mean to you? Then you shall answer them that the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord; when it crossed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. And these stones shall be for a memorial to the children of Israel forever. And the children of Israel did so, just as Joshua commanded, and took up twelve stones from the midst of the Jordan, as the Lord had spoken to Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel, and carried them over with them to the place where they lodged, and laid them down there. Then Joshua set up twelve stones in the midst of the Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests who bore the ark of the covenant stood; and they are there to this day. Joshua 4:2-9 New King James Version
The Lord commanded that each elder of each tribe to pick up a rock from the Jordan and place it on dry land as a memorial for what Jehovah had done for them.
What about you?
Do you have a memorial to show your children and grandchildren what specific thing He has blessed you with? As well it is a reminder for you.
To guide the youth to the future we must teach them about our past. Joseph- Anthony: Green
For me it is a picture of when I planted my one millionth tree and how far he brought me from when I first began especially spiritually and in my walk with Him. Although He has guided me much deeper into a loving relationship with Him treeplanting represents dedication and just what He can, will and does accomplish in our lives when we are obedient to Him. It was the hardest thing I had ever done in my life and drew me so close to Him and taught me lessons that by Gods grace I shall never forget. I constantly use them to teach students and they are appreciative for it.
Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Rohi (God is my Sheppard) for the amazing things You have accomplished in and through my life. I carry that photo with me and gladly explain to those willing to listen just what You are capable of doing in and through their lives. I joyously exalt You in the name of He who accomplished the greatest feat of all (our salvation) Jesus Christ. Amen.
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
Why do You withdraw Your hand, even Your right hand? Psalms 74:11 New King James Version
When you read I the Old Testament, especially the Book of Judges you will see a pattern of the people of Israel turning their backs on Jehovah and He withdraws His protection and blessing upon them.
This is not just an occurrence in the ancient times but in our modern times as well.
Look in recent history.
Before the great depression there were the roaring twenties.
Look at every time we go through a recession, before that there is a time of great prosperity.
A preacher once said that in the good times the churches are empty and in the bad times they are full.
If you are wondering why Jehovah has withdrawn His right hand (which symbolizes strength, protection and blessing) perhaps you should have a little talk with Him and find out if you have been ignoring Him in your worship and obedience.
Prayer: Please Jehovah Shammah (The Lord is present) forgive me for when I am a stubborn and disobedient child and refusing to follow Your Divine guidance. Please bless me to always be attentive to Your leading so as to be blessed with Your presence which is so desperately needed every day of my life. I humbly ask this in the name of He who always walks the closest to His Father Jesus Christ. Amen.
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
