There was a comical saying in the seventies that said the devil made me do it, in reference to why we do bad things.
That is a lie.
The devil tempts us but it is in our own free will that knowingly, willingly commit the sin.
When temptation comes our way we should use the Christian weapons Jehovah supplies us with for victory.
Number one on the list is common sense. The number one rule is that if you are single, or married never be alone with anyone of the opposite sex (unless they are your husband or wife). You can be alone in the library or in a restaurant but never in a place where there is no one else there.
Number two is if Jesus would not be there neither should you be. So if your buddies are doing drugs or going to the bar to pick up babes (or hunks if they are women) do you think Jesus would join them for that activity?
Number three is to memorize victory verses so when the devil temps you like he did Jesus in the wilderness we, like Jesus use Bible verses to defeat our opponent. And yes that is very effective from personal experience.
Number four is to have a close relationship with Jehovah so that when the temptation is too strong for you, your first defence will be to call upon our mighty Heavenly Daddy who will come to our rescue. Again speaking from personal experience this is very effective. Using these effective Christian weapons will bring life to us that is close to our Heavenly Father and oh what a marvellous life that is.

Have you ever seen anyone that has been touched by Jehovah?

I have seen drunkards become sober and never touch a drop again. In my younger days I was very naive and trusting. A sucker in waiting you might say.
As there was maturity in my Christian walk there was not a spirit of cynicism but rather one of wisdom.
One of the traits learned was of an old Jewish tradition that dictated the before any deal was made first there must be three days of prayer. Following this simple procedure has prevented a lot of grief and frustration.
As we pray Jehovah leads us to Bible verses or when reading a contract to notice things which were overlooked the first time which ensnares us. This has prevented me from entering into horrible contracts which would have brought nothing of benefit to me and considerable loss.
He leads us to be patient and look at the character of those around us which prevents us from mixing with the wrong company as He opens our eyes to their attitudes and disposition. This has prevented me from getting entangled in disastrous relationships.

Satan the greatest conner always make poo poo look like sugar. Then when you get addicted to it he tries to convince you that you are not strong enough to resist the temptation.
He is partly right.
Sometimes when temptation comes our way Jehovah will allow to endure it to see how much we have grown ( that is not so much for Him but to show us how weak our strength can be so we do not become arrogant). Sometimes He will deliver us from it to revel to us just how great He is.
The best defence is offence and the best offensive weapon is to know Bible verses and use them to defeat the not so great a deceiver.

Have you ever experienced a voice telling you not to go a certain route to school or work?

So how are you to avoid this snare?
For me I take it to the Lord in prayer and inform His that I am calling on Him to protect me from the wicked ones wiles and if the feeling is still strong obedience is followed. If the feeling goes away I know it is the trickster.
Another tactic is to know your Bible and refer to it when the voice comes.
There truly is nothing new under the sun, including the devils tactics. Another tactic is to contemplate why I will or will not do this. Am I doing this for selfish reasons, if so it is not from Christ but from Satan.

It is amazing that no matter how many decades we read the Bible it always teaches us new things and reminds us of lessons taught so long ago. I love to tape meditation verses and Christian quotes and listen to them every day. Soon they are ingrained in my very core.
The fruition in this is of course being prosperous in being successful in dealings with others.
It is used to teach others in a manner in which is helpful to them, it is used to strengthen and encourage those enduring trials and tribulations, sorrows and snares.
It is also the greatest weapon used to not only defend myself when attacked by the devils minions but to totally destroy them ( Yes we are in a battle against these vile creatures and no quarter is to be given unto them. When this happens they flee from you and never bother you again and you also protect the innocent ones being attacked by them. In the west we call them liberals and the politically correct. They are a plague upon society ).

The older we get the more our soul faints with in, except, for those of us who belong to Christ.
You know why our soul does not grow weak?

I cannot count the number of times my finances were exhausted and I had no job because of a recession. Yes money was put away for this inevitability but it was put into investments that a naive one like me did not realize that the investment firm would charge exorbitant charges for cashing in the investment and the blood sucker government would take a huge chunk as well leaving me with a pittance to hold me over. That is what happens when you trust in corporations in my opinion, they are out to make money off of you and do not want to pay out. It took many years to walk away from these scoundrels and depend upon the best investment councilor there is. His name is Jehovah. Since listening to His wise advice and obeying His guidance there has never been a shortage of fiances ( mind you part of that is learning to live frugally and not to be a part of the foolish materialistic world).

Today I depend upon the wisest Guidance Councilor there is.
His name is Jehovah.
Through His guidance book ( the Holy Bible), good Christian councilors and preachers He has remolded me in so many incredible ways so that there is no semblance of the old creature but only a new and much improved child of His.
The same is said in dealing with interpersonal relationships. Yes there are still times when my soul becomes weak within me but when those times come ( and they always do ) the proper course of action is taken and the soul is strengthened. The proper course of course is taking it to my loving, wise Councilor.

We all encounter trials and tribulations, sorrows and snares.
I have experienced such intense tribulation it was difficult sleeping, eating and functioning in society. Nothing helped me, not words from friends or councilors, nor self help books. It was only when I got down on my knees and in deep anguish cried out to Jehovah that He blessed me with an all encompassing love which strengthened me and stilled my heart with peace. The fear slowly ebbed away like darkness with the rising sun. There was no fear just peace and assurance of Jehovahs firm but gentle hand upon my life. I trusted Him and had faith in Him. He did not let me down, He never does. He filled me with confidence and an eagerness to attack and destroy the troubles. This process has been repeated every time trial and tribulation, sorrow and snares come my way.
