One of the Most Wonderful Things

Your righteousness, O God, reaches to the [height of the] heavens, You who have done great things; O God, who is like You, [who is Your equal]? Psalm 71:19 Holy Bible, Amplified Version

He always makes me laugh.

There have been so many times when strange things happened for no apparent reason. Then while meditating Jehovah would reveal His hand in the events and I would burst out laughing.

Many times He did them just to joke around with me ( yes, Jehovah has a marvelous sense of humour).

Many times He did it to teach me a lesson, many times He did it to protect me from danger.

Many times He did it just to say: “I love you.”

Many times it did it to encourage me.

Through it all it always amazed me how awesome He truly is and how there is always so much more we can and do learn about Him.

“One of the most wonderful things about knowing God is that there’s always so much more to know, so much more to discover. Just when we least expect it, He intrudes into our neat and tidy notions about who He is and how He works.” — Joni Eareckson Tada

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Kabodhi (The Lord is my Glory) for the incredible privilege of knowing more and more about Your magnificent awesomeness which continually amazes me. I praise You for this honour in the name of the truly most amazing gift which I have the privilege of knowing Jesus Christ. Amen.

May the gentle assurance of Jesus’ sweet love encompass you today and every day.

Than to Die A

The blessing of the Lord brings [true] riches, And He adds no sorrow to it [for it comes as a blessing from God]. Proverbs 10:22 Holy Bible, Amplified Version

I see so many, not just in professional sports, TV, movies and music but in every day life that are full of themselves. Yes they do good works but they do them for the praise of others. When you get to know them they are as shallow as an empty peanut shell. They are truly getting their reward now.

I have seen so many unsung servants of Christ quietly serving Him with little or no recognition from the world. That is okay because they will receive their eternal reward in Heaven which is by far superior to anything the world has to offer.

I have seen many who are so poor they live off of a bowl of rice and beans a day, yet will gladly share with you even if it means they go without. They are very content in their world surrounded by Christ, their families and their community of saints. They live in shacks that you would not even allow chickens to live in yet they have a mansion in their hearts.

I have met many who are wealthy by the worlds standards but are in poverty to love. They do not own anything, their possessions own them. They are as phony as a three dollar bill ,lonely, unloved and deeply depressed.

I have met many who have taken risks in serving Christ and failed (although they did not really fail because they learned so much in their failure and it has brought them so much closer to Jehovah).

I have met many who have the golden touch. Everything they attempt in their lives is a glorious success but because they have never known failure they do not enjoy their successes.

“Better to love God and die unknown than to love the world and be a hero; better to be content with poverty than to die a slave to wealth; better to have taken some risks and lost than to have done nothing and succeeded at it.” — Erwin W. Lutzer

Prayer: Thank you Jesus Christ Helech ‘Olam (The Lord our King Forever) for Your Divine favour of presenting me with numerous opportunities both great and small of serving such a grandiose Emperor as Yourself and that You take not of every aspect of my life and are well pleased with my humbleness. I extol Thee in Your treasured name. Amen.

May the gentle assurance of Jesus’ sweet love encompass you today and every day.

The Most Sensitive.

And when the Chief Shepherd (Christ) appears, you will receive the [conqueror’s] unfading crown of glory. 1 Peter 5:4 Holy Bible, Amplified Version

Jehovah has the most sensitive, tender, loving heart, of all. No matter how big or small an act of kindness or of service to Him does not go unnoticed by Him. He cherishes every one of them and holds them close to His heart with deep endearment.

It says in the Book of Revelation that when we get to Heaven Jehovah will place a crown of many jewels upon our heads with jewels encrusted in them. Some will be big while some will be small. Each of those jewels is an act of kindness and service unto Him.

“God’s heart is the most sensitive and tender of all. No act goes unnoticed, no matter how insignificant or small.” — Richard J. Foster

Prayer: Thank you Jesus Christ Helech ‘Olam (The Lord our King Forever) for blessing me with the cherished honor of serving such an awesome King as Yourself. It is a great privilege to receive a crown placed upon my head by my most Beloved King on entry into Your Divine Kingdom. I exalt You in Your most wonderful name. Amen.

May the gentle assurance of Jesus’ sweet love encompass you today and every day.

May Not Profit By.

And not only this, but [with joy] let us exult in our sufferings and rejoice in our hardships, knowing that hardship (distress, pressure, trouble) produces patient endurance. Romans 5:3 Holy Bible, Amplified Version

When we suffer in the body our spirits grow. It is only by suffering that growth takes place. It is not pleasant while it is occurring but when we surrender our wills to Jehovah He will use these experiences to mold us into the children He desires us to be.

In reflecting back upon them we will joyously sing praises unto Him.

And, of course, the most precious profit of it all it that it will draw us into a closer loving relationship with our Beloved Father in Heaven because of them which could be accomplished in no other manner. I know it certainly has been true in every step of progress in my life.

“There is nothing the body suffers the soul may not profit by.” — George Meredith

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah M’Kaddesh (The Lord is my Sanctifier) for blessing me with sanctifying me through many trials and tribulations. These were needed to burn off the dross and to make me pliable in the hands of the Divine molder of this clay vessel. I exalt Thee in the name of the greatest potter of all Jesus Christ. Amen.

May the gentle assurance of Jesus’ sweet love encompass you today and every day.

Like a Rose Blooming In.

The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and the One who rescues me; My God, my rock and strength in whom I trust and take refuge; My shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower—my stronghold. Psalm 18:2 Holy Bible, Amplified Version

One time while camping in the desert the winds picked up so bad I had to cup my hands over my face or else I would have been smothered to death.

That is what it is like sometimes when the world comes howling at us with TV, movies, music and society all screaming that sin is good and righteousness is foolishness.

That is when we need the Holy Spirit to come and wrap Himself around us and assure us we are walking the right walk.

In the morning there was huge red butes that when the sun rose they looked like giant fingers slowly moving to clamp onto my and squeeze me to death (or so it seemed).

So too can it seem as if there are pressures from the world to conform to their wickedness or they will destroy us in rage.

That is when we need the Holy Spirit to come plants the sweetness of Christs love for us with in our hearts and bloom like the most beautiful flower with in us.

One time while hiking along a trail by the ocean I decided to climb into a cave in a huge rock. Little did I realize that the high tide came all half way up that rock. That night a storm broke out and the waves reached the lip of the cave but never entered in.

So too is Christ there for us to take shelter in during the storms in our lives.

You will never find Jesus so precious as when the world is one vast howling wilderness. Then he is like a rose blooming in the midst of the desolation, a rock rising above the storm.” — Robert Murray M’Cheyne

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Sel’i (The Lord is my Rock) for blessing me with Your firm foundation and sanctuary during the raging storms in my life. Thank you that through this my faith and gratitude for You has blossomed into a beautiful creation of which You are well pleased. I praise You in the name of the most beautiful gardener of all Jesus Christ. Amen.

May the gentle assurance of Jesus’ sweet love encompass you today and every day.

I am More Afraid Of.

Their eye bulges from fatness [they have more than the heart desires]; The imaginations of their mind run riot [with foolishness]. Psalm 73:7 Holy Bible, Amplified Version

In each of us dwells the flesh.

We need the assistance of the Holy Spirit to keep it under control.

There is no one who ever goes a day without sinful thoughts.

How many men (married or single) do not look at a woman with lust?

How many women do not have envy in their hearts for those who are not more beautiful than they or have a better outfit than them?

The list is endless.

It is when we dwell upon fleshly desires that they take root and the root desires the thought to take action.

That is why we need the Holy Spirit to make us aware of these thoughts and how wrong they are. That is why we need the Holy Spirit to guide our thoughts away from the world and towards Christ.

I am more afraid of my own heart than of the pope and all his cardinals. I have within me the great pope, Self.” Martin Luther

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah-Tsidkenu (The Lord is Righteousness) for blessing me that You guard my heart diligently and protect me from myself for I am weak and simple minded compared to Your magnificent wisdom. I exalt Thee in the name of the strongest of them all Jesus Christ. Amen.

May the gentle assurance of Jesus’ sweet love encompass you today and every day.

Everyone May Learn From

“Nevertheless the righteous will hold to his ways, And he who has clean hands will grow stronger and stronger. Job 17:9 Holy Bible, Amplified Version

We all put our mouths in action before our brains from time to time. We say things impulsively that are deeply regretted later.

I have certainly done it numerous times.

That is why we need the Holy Spirit to guard our mouths and indeed clamp them shut many times to keep us out of trouble. He has done that for me numerous times to my deep gratitude.

We all play the victim when trials and tribulations occur and take it out on God: “If you love me why are you allowing this to happen to me”

I have cried that too many times to count. In retrospect however I see that the greatest lessons in life are learned from trials and tribulations. They help us grow the most and helps us to endure then with confidence and even expectation on what Jehovah is doing through these events.

And, you can bet He is doing it for a reason.

Those speak foolishly who ascribe their anger or their impatience to such as offend them or to tribulation. Tribulation does not make people impatient, but proves that they are impatient. So everyone may learn from tribulation how his heart is constituted.” Martin Luther

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Rabbi (God my teacher) for teaching me through my numerous tribulations and moulding me from them into the beautiful child You desire me to be. I praise You in the name of Your most beautiful Son Jesus Christ. Amen

May the gentle assurance of Jesus’ sweet love encompass you today and every day.
