A closer walk with our beloved friend.

Fools Won’t Take It.

I know an elderly lady that for health reasons can no longer eat the foods she once enjoyed. If she eats those foods she gets violently sick. So, it is like a battle between the mind and the body. The body says do not eat this or else you will get violently sick. The mind says up yours. I am going to do what ever I want to do. Then when the body rebels, they blame everybody but themselves. This is a daily routine with her.

As a dog returns to its vomit, so fools repeat their folly. Proverbs 26:11 The Holy Bible, The New Living Translation

Her son makes nutritious, delicious foods that she should be eating but she steadfastly refuses to eat them. It constantly amazes him.

Doing wrong is fun for a fool, but living wisely brings pleasure to the sensible. Proverbs 10:23 The Holy Bible, The New Living Translation

Does that though not sound familiar?

How many times does our Father in Heaven bless us with advice and we reject it because we want something else. Then when we pay the penalty we blame everyone but ourselves. Jehovah is far wiser than us and loves us. So, His advice is for our own good.

“Wise men don’t need advice. Fools won’t take it.” Benjamin Franklin

When it discussed with her friends ( some of who claim to be Christians ) they just laugh at me and encourage her to just go out and do what she wants to. When the son explains that that will make her sick they just laugh at me again and they make jokes about it. Some of these so called friends are health care professionals. They should know better.

Although, I certainly would not consider their advice to be neither wise nor helpful.

“A wise man may look ridiculous in the company of fools.” Thomas Fuller

Please do not chose to walk down the path of stupidity. It is filled with pain and misery.

Prayer: Thank you Poppa for blessing me with the best mentor The Holy Spirit Rabbi (God our Teacher 2 Timothy 3:16 ) to guide me along the path of life You have chosen for me to take all the way to Heavens Gate. May I never be foolish enough to believe I am smarter than Him and ignore His advice.

I praise You in the name of the wisest of all Rabbis Jesus Christ. Amen

May you be blessed with the willingness to be obedient unto the best mentors guidance, The Holy Spirit. Joseph a son of Jehovah

As Christ is our King, so too are we His free will servants Joseph a son of Jehovah I have been a faithful servant of our Lord for the past forty years. He has led me to move from the farm to the city. It was there I learned natural medicine as well as to serve by doin volunteer work in a hospital. This was preparing me for the next stage of growth and service unto Him. The next phase was to live in a tent in the western provinces of Canada planting trees. It has here in His marvelous creation of nature that He taught me so much of Himself while serving others in camp as a first aid attendant. If anybody got sick or injured they always came to me. As well, I learned to be a big brother and care about their mental health and for most, it was the first time they were ever loved. This caring for others prepared me for the next step which was to be a teacher all over China. Here not only did my example guide many to our Heavenly King but also taught me how to deal with narcissist. This prepared me to come home to take care of a narcissistic mother while dealing with narcissist family members. It was in China that the Lord also guided me to become a Christian writer which has been faithfully done for the past ten years. I know not what will happen tomorrow but I know who holds tomorrow in His hands and it is Him I place my total confidence and trust in. Joseph a son of Jehovah

  1. I believe child-like behavior is common in the elderly. A different approach may be called for. Love is the answer in any case. Reward for eating the right things can come in many ways. There are also many healthy foods that are quite enjoyable. Digging deep into her personal history and things she loves and finding a way to use ingredients which are compatible with her digestive system and still appealing could very well be the answer. Admonishment will on strengthen the resolve of rebellion in an older person who is trying to hold on to some choices which allow them freedom and control over some area of their life.

    • From my experience not only with her but with most seniors in seniors homes as well and that of her friends, this behavior is not because of age but has been a disposition in them ever since childhood. It is that now they are old and cannot get away with their narcissistic behavior.
Believe me I have tried as well as others I know that are taking care of their mothers your approach to no avail.

      • I was speaking as a retired nurse. The approach of love always worked for me.

      • Glad to hear it. Thank you for sharing your experience.
I am speaking as a liver in care giver for the last seven years and from conversations with other care givers on a different web site.

      • I understand. I am currently the caregiver to my husband who suffers with a traumatic brain injury. I also took care of my mother when she fell victim to Alzheimers. God bless.

      • From my experience and that of others on a different web site us care givers do all the work while getting no help from other family members.

The help we give is not appreciated and we are abused by those in our care. All the while the other family members are constantly leeching money off of the we we are caring for. All the while we get nothing.

I gave up a very good career as a teacher to take care of my mom and have never been so abused by anyone in my life as much as she abuses me. It is not because of age. Talking with those who have known her all of her life she has always been like this.

We have no one to talk with about what we are going through. Most folks tell us it is a privilege to care for our mothers ( and yes, most of the abuse comes from mothers, not that men are perfect ). They know nothing of what they are talking about. Which is why that web site is so good. We have each other to help.
