We are Still Stewards

The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it. Genesis 2:15 Holy Bible, New Living Translation

Now, even though we are not in the Garden of Eden we are still stewards of Jehovahs creation.

One day early this spring while riding my bicycle down a country road the Lord guided my attention to how filthy the side of the road was and reminded me that as a Christian I am a caretaker of Jehovahs creation. He inspired me to go midweek with some garbage bags and start to clean up all the rubbish on the side of the road. It was incredible the amount that was collected in a short distance. I made a commitment to return one day a week and continue down the road until it was all cleaned up.

You must not defile the land where you live, for I live there myself. I am the Lord, who lives among the people of Israel.” Numbers 35:34 Holy Bible, New Living Translation

After about a month, it rained out on the scheduled clean up day. A couple of days later when riding down the road to get some supplies for our garden the Lord directed my attention to the side of the road. It was spotless. That means someone or group noticed the work done, how it looked good and how bad the uncleaned part looked. They took the initiative and cleaned it up.

Many times we can lead by example in life with out even realizing it. Joseph a son of Jehovah

LEADERSHIP

You yourself must be an example to them by doing good works of every kind. Titus 2:7 Holy Bible, New Living Translation

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Bore (Isaiah 40:28) The LORD Creator for blessing me with helpers to restore some of Your creation to the beauty You created to be. I exalt You in the name of He who will restore all of creation to its original beauty upon His victorious return Jesus Christ. Amen

May Gods sunshine always bless you with brightening your day with His love, joy and peace. Joseph a son of Jehovah

I am an unpaid live in care giver for my aged mother. As well I regularly do volunteer work with a local church group helping working poor establish themselves independently. . I love being in nature. I say the closer we get to nature the more we see Jehovah. We are blessed in this area with many amazing, easy to ride bicycle trails on old railroad lines that takes us all over Southern Ontario.

  1. I’m a true believer in taking care of all that the Father has created. If i see trash i pick it up and i wish i could do more but im very limited. I live way out in the mountains and have no car but i keep my area clean and all the trash picked up. I wish i could take care of animals as well but i can’t have any. If i could id probably pick up every stray around lol. I love animals, if i had the room it would like Noah’s ark in my house. Keep up the good work i love your bogs God Bless!!

    • Good for you.

We feed the stray cat, trap them and take them to an agency that neuters them and releases them back into the wild. We have three stray cats that are so lovable.
We can be the example that leads others to not only good works but also to Jesus.

I like your blog as well.

  2. I have missed reading your posts, Joseph! You’ll have to take a picture of that little patch by the side of the road so we can see it. 🙏🏾

    • Perhaps this year I will as well as a section of trail that is very littered.

      • Please do! I hope that you and your mother are well, Joseph. 🙏🏾

      • We are thank you.

I pray that you are safe from this plague that is spreading like wild fire around the world.

      • I am relieved to hear it!

Yes, I have been sheltering in place for over a week. How are things there in Canada?

And there is no “like a plague” about it — this is a plague, from my perspective. 😔

      • Glad to hear you are okay.

        Yes, it is a plague.

I do not know when the Chinese and Indians (from India) are going to learn. They are the filthiest countries in the world. I lived in China for ten years and know many that have spent time in India and we all agree, they are the filthiest places on earth.

We still have idiots here that do not listen and congregate in groups but now the government has made it a big fine if they do. Thankfully there is no one here with it.

As the churches have shut down I have convinced mom to make a list and call so many of the members every day to keep in touch (she likes to yap anyway, why not have something good come from it).

      • I am glad to hear that you and your mom are keeping safe, too (and what a nice thing for you to suggest that she call other members of her church).

I have never been to China or India, and probably am not likely to go in the future due to the air quality (big asthma trigger). Both countries are very large from a geographic and population perspective, so whenever there are large numbers of people like that, it must be a challenge to keep everything tidy as there is so much overcrowding, I imagine.

And I am amazed at the people who continue to defy the authorities and congregate needlessly — I think I heard about students partying during spring break somewhere, and I thought to myself, “what is the point of spending the week with your friends in the sun if your health ends up getting compromised later?” Reminds me that many people have knowledge, but very few have any common sense.

      • Reminds me that many people have knowledge, but very few have any common sense.

Oh boy, is that ever true.

      • The Bible even says this to a certain extent! (I think of Proverbs, for instance)

      • Most likely Proverbs and it certainly is true from my experience.
