A closer walk with our beloved friend.

On My Own.

No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word—He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy].1 Corinthians 10:13 Holy Bible, Amplified Version

Some times when we are faced with temptation Jehovah knows we have the power with in our selves to resist it.

Today was just such a day.

It has been two week since permanently butting out.

Today there was a strong temptation to go out and purchase a pack of cigarettes.

I called out to the Lord to deliver me but His reply was that He knew I had the power to resist so just do it.

It felt like my head was going to explode but I firmly determined that I refuse to go back. I feel great since butting out and refuse to return to it just to start the battle all over again.

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah ‘Izoa Hakaboth (The Lord is Strong) for blessing me with Your encouragement that some of Your unlimited strength resides with in me. This was used this day to good affect.

I praise You in the name of He who slam dunks satan to the ground every time Jesus Christ. Amen

May you be blessed with Jehovahs unlimited power today

After faithfully serving the Lord in China for ten years as a teacher I have been called home to care for my aged mother who has numerous disabilities. As well I regularly do volunteer work visiting seniors in a seniors home. I love being in nature. I say the closer we get to nature the more we see Jehovah. We are blessed in this area with many amazing, easy to ride bicycle trails on old railroad lines that takes us all over Southern Ontario.

  1. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Hang in there! It will get easier and you will be so proud and feel so much cleaner and clearer soon! THE LORD helped me to get free from this icky, sticky addiction and HE will help you, too! HE is your strength! You can do all things through CHRIST who strengtheneth you! GOD bless you!

    • wow, that is really an encouraging testament. Thank you.

I think it will always be there- the temptation will arise from time to time. That is good because it keeps me close to our Heavenly Beloved strong protective arms.

May you always be blessed with a close loving relationship with the most fantastic loving Father.

      • What THE LORD showed me to make it easier to quit was, I wrote some very encouraging scriptures on little index cards and I carried them in my cigarette case – in the beginning, a few scriptures and a few cigarettes together in the same box… then, more and more, I “inhaled” a word instead of a fag – it was so much more satisfying and fulfilling – after a week or so, I had my cigarette case full of scriptures and had taken the cigarettes out and given away. It was still hard, but I was a smoker for almost 35 years and that was the only method that ever helped me – not surprising, there are many things to which JESUS is the only answer, the only solution and the only remedy.
GOD bless you and may HE give you victory! In JESUS’ name! Amen.

      • Thank you for your creative suggestions.

I record encouraging scriptures and quotes. Then they are listened to every morning and evening. As well they are on a mp4 to listen to while walking.

When a temptation comes so does one of the memorized scriptures. Viola, success.

Jehovah bless you with victory over all and any temptation.
