A closer walk with our beloved friend.

Non-serving Does Not Belong to Us.

HE HAS THE WORK PREPARED

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do Ephesians 2:10 New International Version

There is no such thing.

There is no such thing as a non-serving Christian.

Yes we have been saved by grace alone with Christ’s sacrifice on the cross.

That does not mean we can accept Christ and sit on our hands waiting for Him to take us to Heaven.

Once we become a member of Jehovah’s family He has His set chores for us to do. These are chores that are specially prepared just for us in our service to Christ.

Do not forget that if Jesus is our king then we are His servants.

What does a servant do?

They serve.

It need not be anything spectacular like missionary work. Whatever you do, when you do it for the glory of Christ, you are fulfilling your duties as His servant.

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Jireh (God our provider) for the numerous opportunities You so graciously provide me with to serve You both great and small every day. I give thanks in the name of Your wonderful child who served You so admirably when we walked amongst us Jesus Christ. Amen.

May the sweet sunshine of Jesus’ precious love bless you today and every day.

After faithfully serving the Lord in China for ten years as a teacher I have been called home to care for my aged mother who has numerous disabilities. As well I regularly do volunteer work visiting seniors in a seniors home. I love being in nature. I say the closer we get to nature the more we see Jehovah. We are blessed in this area with many amazing, easy to ride bicycle trails on old railroad lines that takes us all over Southern Ontario.

  1. Excellent! I am writing a series called The Juxtaposition of Christ and Christianity, and in part 1 I spoke on the topic of Pure Religion, which, as defined by James was visiting the widows, and fatherless and serving them in their times of need.

Even in the Old Testament there was a tothe for serving others. When Christianity has become more about money, big churches, celebrity preachers it is ever more important to be reminded that we are actually saved so we can serve, not be served. Thanks for writing this.

    • You are welcome.

Writing a blog to bring others to a close loving relationship with Jehovah, Jesus and the Holy Spirit is one way to serve.

I strongly agree with what you have said.

There are so many lonely seniors that also need help with simple things in their lives in order to continue to live in their homes (old folks homes are really prisons where they are put into until they die. I know from a lot of volunteer work).

Yes most Christians try to live with one foot in satans world and one foot in Christs. That is impossible.
