Did You Know That?

GOD IS WITH US

“Now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God — all because of what our Lord Jesus Christ has done for us in making us friends of God” (Romans 5:11 New Living Testament).

Do you know that?

Do you know that when you accept Jesus Christ as your savior He instantly becomes your best friend?

Wow!

What an awesome thought huh?

Now just as with humans in order for there to be a friendship, we need to have the same interest and desire to share time together.

Do you enjoy spending time with your best friend?

Do you read His love letters to you, the Bible on a daily basis? For a deeper understanding of His love letters may I suggest  Our Daily Journal from RBC and Our Daily Bread by RBC.

Do you listen to His love songs for you, how much time do you spend listening to Christian music? May I suggest Praise 1065 and Joy Fm (St Louis or Florida).

I would like to suggest going to church, however, from a personal experience I find too many wolves amongst the sheep there (please read 2 Timothy 3:15 to see what I experience in church).

Do you listen to His message to you? I like going to seromonaudio.com and listening to Alistair Begg, Charles Spurgon Vance Havener and A.W. Tozer.

Now what makes people friends?

Could it be because they enjoy dong the same thing?

Well what did Jesus do when He was here?

Here is His guide to enjoy camaraderie with Him

Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Matthew 25: 34-40 New International Version

Speaking from personal experience,  in Canada, I have found doing volunteer work extremely rewarding. Both, in personal satisfaction and the knowledge that is was making my best friend very happy.

So how is your relationship going with your best buddy?

To fall in love with God is the greatest of all romances; To seek him, the greatest adventure; To find him, the greatest human achievement. Raphael Simon

Prayer: Thank you Jesus Pryyand (Jesus my friend) for being my best friend and honoring my with such special moments as when we walk together and talk together. I gratefully give thanks in You loving name. Amen.

I am an unpaid live in care giver for my aged mother. As well I regularly do volunteer work with a local church group helping working poor establish themselves independently. . I love being in nature. I say the closer we get to nature the more we see Jehovah. We are blessed in this area with many amazing, easy to ride bicycle trails on old railroad lines that takes us all over Southern Ontario.

  1. Great post. One of my most favorite Scriptures from the Bible is Amos 3:3 KJV “Can two walk together except they be agreed? Two best friends will indeed walk together! Amen

  2. I have missed your daily posts, Joseph! I am going to try to catch up soon.

How is your ear these days?

    • Busy as usual.

I have spent the week helping set up Christmas decorations in the park.
      How is your contracts going?

      • Busy is good! Setting up Christmas decorations sounds like a lovel way to spend the week (although a fair amount of hard work goes into decorating like that – I’ve done it at my church once, and it’s quite labor-intensive!).

The contract work is continuing so far – I am grateful!

      • I am glad to hear about the contract work. I pray for you every day.

      • Thanks so very much, Joseph. I’m not sure how much longer the contract will continue, but I am grateful for the Lord’s provision each day (and for your prayers as well). Is there some other way that I may be praying for you?

      • Please pray for the Holy Spirits power to permanently quit smoking. I have cut back but would like to quit completely. Thank you fort your gracious offer.

      • Thanks for sharing this with me, Joseph. I will pray about this now, and will add it to my regular prayers for you, my friend. The Lord will give you the strength that you need!

      • Thank you. I need all the prayers I can get.

      • Glad to keep you in prayer, Joseph! And we all are in desperate need of prayer in one way or another! Thank you for faithfully praying for me as well – I appreciate you.

Re: your smoking situation, my prayer has been that the sight of the cigarettes would be repulsive to you and that the experience would be one that you would not enjoy in the least (I know – a bit strong, but hopefully effective). You’ll have to let me know if the Lord answers that particular prayer!

      • Thank you and you are welcome.

It is a daily battle. Sometimes it it is habit but a lot of times it is because for stress (mom is a bit stubborn and likes to argue where as I am a quiwt man) that causes me to smoke.

      • I will keep you lifted up in prayer, Joseph! It sounds like stress can be a trigger for many of us to engage in unhealthy behaviors – you are not alone, my friend! For me, I can be a bit of a stress eater, so if I feel anxious about something I just tend to snack needlessly. It’s simply not a wise way to go about my life and health, and so I am working on that, too.

I’m sorry to hear that things are tough with your mom right now! I was wondering how she was doing. I will pray for her again, too.

      • Thank you for your prayers.

Mom problem is she is very stubborn and loves to argue.

That is why I am grateful Jehovah has blessed me with a santuary to get away from her sometimes

      • I understand, Joseph. I will specifically pray (and did so already, but will do so again) that your mother’s heart will be softened and she will become less argumentative.

      • A great big thank you for that much needed prayer

      • I am grateful for you as well, Joseph!

  3. Thanks for the wisdom of God.. You will succeed!
