I will put My Spirit in you and you will come to life, and I will place you in your own land. Then you will know that I the Lord have spoken, and fulfilled it,” says the Lord.’” Ezekiel 37:14 Holy Bible, Amplified Version

One night while sleeping in the back yard in a tent I was awoken by a blue flame above my head. Thinking the house was on fire I frantically attempted to open the zipper on the tent to get mom out of the house. I was so upset I, at first, did not realize I was vainly attempting to find the zipper on the wrong side of the tent. When I did manage to finally open the tent door and rush outside, there was no flames at all. Confused I crawled back into the tent and promptly fell asleep.

When I woke up the next morning all of my finger tips were tingling, my heart felt as if it was going to burst and my head felt electrified. No, it was not a physical ailment that caused this, I am as strong as a horse.

During morning Bible reading this verse burned into my eyes.

There is concern about what will happen to me when mom passes on to the other side (I am an unpaid caregiver with no savings). Every morning I thank the Lord that even though I do not know what is going to happen, one thing for certain is that He will always take care of me.

In the four years of being a caregiver I have worked tirelessly fixing this place up by myself. The only help the rest of the family is, is when they help themselves to moms money every month. They never come down to help and only call when they want money.

One day after crying out to the Lord about the unfairness of it all, He directed me to go sit out on a trail with my Bible. He spent three hours with verse after verse educating me that the wicked shall lose their inheritance and the righteous shall inherit theirs. I kept on replying that I know my inheritance is in Heaven and that is all I want but it would be nice to have some help from the rest of the family in caring for mom. Finally I have taken the attitude that I get what can be done done and not stress out or work myself into exhaustion attempting to do all the work myself.

This verse seems to be His word pounding into my thick skull that all the work I have done is not for someone else (the wicked family) to profit from (because of the beautification of the property the house has increased in value, which I do not care about but they do because it means they get more money from the inheritance). I shall dwell upon this land in peace, love, joy and security because Jehovah says so and He never lies.

Do not fear [anything], for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you; I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation].’Isaiah 41:10 Holy Bible Amplified Version

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow. Because He lives all fear is gone. Because I know, I KNOW, He holds the future, And life is worth the living just because He lives.” Bill & Gloria Gaither

For I have taken all this to heart, exploring and examining it all, how the righteous (those in right standing with God) and the wise and their deeds are in the hands of God. Ecclesiastes 9: 1 Holy Bible Amplified Version

If you are serving the Lord and are concerned about anything I pray this article has blessed you with strength, confidence, peace and joy.

After faithfully serving the Lord in China for ten years as a teacher I have been called home to care for my aged mother who has numerous disabilities. As well I regularly do volunteer work visiting seniors in a seniors home. I love being in nature. I say the closer we get to nature the more we see Jehovah. We are blessed in this area with many amazing, easy to ride bicycle trails on old railroad lines that takes us all over Southern Ontario.

  1. I relate in so many levels… God gives us the strength to carry on.
Treasure the time with your mom, for life is so precious and yet so fleeting.
May our Lord grant you inner peace. God bless.

    • Thank you.

The real challenge is going to be the next two months.

She is having cataract surgery on one eye each month which means she will be blind for two months.

Jehovah bless you with peace, love, joy and strength as well

  2. Stay strong, before you know it the time will pass quickly and mom will be grateful and appreciative you stood by her, giving her the strength to endure. Plus as a bonus the Good Lord tells us by honoring our parent(s) we gain a promise. How awesome is that! Thank you for the blessings and I too wish you the same. Shalom!

    • Thank you for the encouragement.

There was a little showdown between her and the Lord. Thing have improved tremendously since then.

Yes we receive a promise when we honour our parents but the best honor is being obedient unto our Beloved.

You are welcome for the blessing and thank you for the blessing in return.

Jehovah bless you with His continuous presence every day.

  3. Our Lord Jesus is our first priority, yes. Everything else falls into place when we make Him first in our lives, in everything we do. His promises are sure it keeps hope alive in us 🙂

Glad to hear mom had her strength renewed in/by trusting God will pull her through whatever ails her. That’s half the battle, mentally preparing yourself and spiritually accepting God’s assistance. Whatever the outcome, He never lets us down, we ourselves do, in not accepting His loving care. Yet, together any storm can be conquered, because He is in us. Blessing to you both.

  4. I will be praying for you and your mom, Joseph – I will do so now in fact. Hang in there, my friend. ✝️

    • Thank you ever so much.

That is an important part of daily prayer- praying for others. I have a list of about twenty brothers and sisters on my list.

      • Wow! I’m not quite as disciplined with my daily prayers, but know that you are being prayed for over here in California!

      • Thank you for that wonderful kindness.

Where do you live in California? When I bicycled the bicentennial highway I enjoyed northern and central Cal the most.

      • It is an honor to pray for you and your mother.

I love in Northern California, in the Bay Area. 🙂

      • Thank you. is there anything you would like me to pray for you?
        Is that by San Francisco?

      • Thank you, Joseph! I have two job interviews tomorrow, so I am praying for God’s discernment and wisdom about what my next step should be.

Yes, sort of by San Francisco. 😀

      • Father Jireh (God supplies) I humbly request that you guide Your precious child to the right interview and which one to accept.

I pray the position is where he has opportunities to share You with others while being a good paying position that is permanent.

In the name of He who always provided for His disciples, Jesus Christ, I do humbly ask. Amen.

I will continue to pray for you every day until you are in a good paying full time position.

I really liked Big Sur and all the fantastic museums in San Fran. I was interesting visiting Alcratras (that prison out on that island where Al Capone did time.

      • Thank you, Joseph! I receive your prayer with gratitude. I may email you separately to share a couple of additional updates – again, I thank you! ✝️ I will continue to lift you up in prayer as well, my friend.

I’ve actually never been to Big Sur, but did go to Alcatraz a long time ago. A place like that sure makes you appreciate your freedom, no?

      • We are to pray for each other as an act of love.

        Yes Alcatraz was kinda spooky.

Just think of how many souls are locked in a spiritual prison and it makes us appreciate our spiritual freedom in Christ.

      • Very astute observation, Joseph! Tragically, a spiritual prison is one with a lock on the inside, but mercifully, God has the only Key! ✝️

      • That is very true but most folks refuse to walk through their cell when the door is opened for them.

How is the job interviews going? I pray for you every morning.

      • I had not thought of that. Good point!

Thank you for your faithfulness in prayer. I have a second round interview for the week after next. I’m still waiting to hear back on the other opportunity.

How are things going with your mother? Has a date been set for her first eye surgery? I have been praying for a hedge of protection around you both, as well as God’s continued provision for you, Joseph.

      • It sure is different then when I was in the work force. WE had one interview and then you either had the job or not. It must be very stressful. Take faith in the Lord, He will bless you.

Mom will be going in for one eye surgery in about a month and the next a month after that. I was talking with some folks and they informed me that she will be without sight for about two to three days and then will much better.

      • I miss those days of only having one interview! I will definitely let you know how things go.

Also, I believe your correct about the cataract surgery. My mother had it done in both eyes last year, and she was fine after a few days. Over, every person is different, so I did not want to make any assumptions. I will continue to pray! ✝️

      • Have you thought of moving to another state? I heard taxes are so high in California that many companies are moving out of state.

It will be good that mom can see the flowers for the first time in many years.

      • No, not at this time. If I felt God calling me to go, that would be one thing, but so far, I believe He’s keeping me close to my family and church home. However, if His guidance should change, I’ll be paying caredul attention!

I am excited that your mother will be able to enjoy the hard work you’ve put into the garden! Praying that her surgeries go smoothly and that her quality of life is better than it was beforehand. ✝️

      • Very wise move. If Jehovah is not suggesting you move than stay where you are. I am still praying for you.

Thank you for sharing my joy about moms surgery.

      • Your prayers are such a blessing to me, Joseph. Thank you so very much.

I continue to keep you and your family in prayer. Please let me know when and if there any additional updates! ✝️

      • Thank you for your gracious prayers and I shall continue to pray for you until Jehovah blesses you with a decent full time employment.

      • Thank you! And I will continue to pray for your family until you share another update and/or you pass along another prayer request!

I think it’s exciting to see how prayer unites the body of Christ, even though we are in different countries! Grateful for you.

      • Prayer knows no boundaries whether physical, racial, or financial. We are all united in the spirit of Christ. Joseph a son of Jehovah

      • Amen! 🙂 How is your mom doing today,

      • She is going to church in about an hour. She is still going strong thank you.

Have you thought of doing volunteer work while waiting for a contract? From a lot of experience that is a great way to meet contacts.

      • Glad she still has her strength and is able to make it to church! This is a blessing.

Yes, I volunteer at a community center, in addition to the ministries in which I am involved at church. Great suggestion, though! Thank you.

      • Yes it is a blessing.

Glad you are keeping busy doing valuable work. The Lord rewards good servants.
