A closer walk with our beloved friend.

We All Suffer It.

You are jealous and covet [what others have] and your lust goes unfulfilled;so you murder. You are envious and cannot obtain [the object of your envy]; so you fight and battle. James 4:2 The Holy Bible Amplified Version

We all suffer it.

It is a thief, it steals our joy and contentment. It comes in two names that walk hand in hand in a destructive walk in our hearts. It makes us filthy. It is called jealousy and it companions name is envy.

It is only natural to experience jealousy when we see someone excel at something we work hard at but cannot compare. When they are praised for their work the thief called jealousy creeps into our hearts. Jehovah reveals how delighted He is with us in our Divine walk with Him. Jehovahs love causes the wicked beast of jealousy to flee like a rat with the light shone on it.

We all experience envy whether it is someones good looks, prestige or wealth. That is when the Christian meditates upon Jehovahs Divine love for us and companionship with us. It fills our hearts with love, joy and peace. This causes the wicked beast of envy to flee like a rat with the light shone upon it.

Jealousy says, “I want what you have.”

Envy says, “If I can’t have what you have, then I don’t want you to have it.” Envy rejoices at others’ failures.

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Shalom (The Lord blesses with Peace) for blessing me with Your Divine peace and love to share with the world when they are living a pitiful cold life without You. I exalt You in the name of He who is the epitome of love Jesus Christ. Amen

May the gentle assurance of Jesus’ sweet love encompass you today and every day.

I am an unpaid live in care giver for my aged mother. As well I regularly do volunteer work with a local church group helping working poor establish themselves independently. . I love being in nature. I say the closer we get to nature the more we see Jehovah. We are blessed in this area with many amazing, easy to ride bicycle trails on old railroad lines that takes us all over Southern Ontario.

  1. I have certainly dealt with my share of jealousy and envious thoughts! I am still trying to get a handle on this one, but I have found the easiest way for me to combat those thoughts is to praise God. For anything that comes to mind. The sunshine, my cat, not having gnarly toes..anything that I can be grateful for. Then another, and another, until my heart is filled with praise instead of envy. Thanks for a great post!

    • I can only say ha ha, ha ha.

It sounds as if you have discovered what took me decades to learn.

I am overjoyed that you have learned this valuable lesson.

I know my life has improved so much because I mirror what you are doing.

I am proud of you sister.

We have four cats that were all stays. They have been neutered and have no desire to leave the house. They are the biggest babies I have ever seen. Mind you, there is a bit of a war going on right now. I have just brought a stray kitten in and she thinks she is the boss of the house. She has to find out the hard way where her place is in the hierarchy.

May you be blessed with always basking in Jehovah Jireh (God our supplier) loving abundant joy and peace.

      • We got our cat from a shelter just days before she was scheduled to be euthanized. She’s a pain in the butt at times, but I thank God for the joy she’s brought to our home, especially in times where my kids were left home alone a lot as I worked 2-3 jobs at a time. We rescued her and she rescued us right back. It’s the little things that make a big difference 🙂 Enjoy your new kitten!! God bless!

      • That is tough working 2-3 jobs. I respect you for that.
Our kitten thinks she is the boss because she was spoiled and had the sun room all to herself and all of our attention to herself. For a tiny little thing she is sure feisty against the other cats even though she always gets beat up.
Jehovah Jireh bless you with a good paying full time job.

  2. well said! I have had my share of that too…specially when being “humbled down” by other people. Only by God’s grace and love I have learned to overcome and still learning. God bless!!

  3. An inspired reminder, thank you.
