A closer walk with our beloved friend.

Be a Dove Snake.

Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.Matthew 10:16 New King James Version

“Innocent as doves that we may not harm anyone; cautious as snakes that we may be careful of letting anyone harm us” Augustine
One time while I was at this beach in Hong Kong two pure white turtle doves landed on the beach. They contentedly sat there and lovingly preened each other with obvious love for each other.

That is the way us Christians are to behave lovingly towards each other.

That does not mean preening each other it means being kind, polite, and respectful towards each other.

When approached, a snake will flick its tongue towards anything that approaches it. The tongue picks up chemicals in the air to determine if what is approaching it represents danger.

So too are we to beware when someone we do not know approaches us. It does not mean we are to be paranoid, it means we are to be cautious because the devil always approaches as a friend and not as a danger.

Prayer: Please Jesus Shammah (God is present) please always guide me to be loving like a dove while being discerning like a snake. I sincerely request this in the name of He who was and is loving yet wisely discerning Jesus Christ. Amen

May the sweet sunshine of Jesus’ precious love bless you today and every day.

After faithfully serving the Lord in China for ten years as a teacher I have been called home to care for my aged mother who has numerous disabilities. As well I regularly do volunteer work visiting seniors in a seniors home. I love being in nature. I say the closer we get to nature the more we see Jehovah. We are blessed in this area with many amazing, easy to ride bicycle trails on old railroad lines that takes us all over Southern Ontario.
