A closer walk with our beloved friend.

What do You Think Your Name Will Be?

I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it. Revelation 2:17 New King James Version

In ancient times when you when to court and you were acquitted you received a white stone and received no punishment. You were set free to rejoin the community.

If you were convicted you were given a black stone. This meant either a death sentence or you were banished from the community.

When we accept Christ as our Savior and we stand before the judgment throne we will be given the white stone because of His sacrifice which acquits us. This sets us free from punishment and guarantees our entry into Heaven.

In the ancient Olympics the winners of each event were awarded a white stone which was a token of honour.

Although deeds will not get you into Heaven, only Jesus as our Savior will, we are still commanded to be good and faithful servants which means there is a specific job of us in Christ’s kingdom to obey and fulfill. As Jesus is our King that makes us His servants and servants serve the King not just sit there and wait for His return. Jesus has a specific duty for each of His servants to do.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,  not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2: 8-10 New King James Version

Upon completion of our service whether it be in death or in the rapture we will be given the white stone as acquitted and acknowledgement of our good and faithful service which we completed in the Kings service.   We are saved by grace alone, good works can have no part. But, God rewards each loving deed that is done with all of our heart. D. De Huan Why do you think Jehovah will give us a new name?

What do you think your name will be?

Prayer: Although my Beloved Jehovah-Hamelech (The Lord our King) this humble servant serves You out of love I am intrigued to discover the wonderful name You will bless this faithful servant with when You place my crown upon me in our Heavenly home.  I thank you that it was by Your ultimate sacrifice that this is made possible Jesus Christ. Amen

May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.

After faithfully serving the Lord in China for ten years as a teacher I have been called home to care for my aged mother who has numerous disabilities. As well I regularly do volunteer work visiting seniors in a seniors home. I love being in nature. I say the closer we get to nature the more we see Jehovah. We are blessed in this area with many amazing, easy to ride bicycle trails on old railroad lines that takes us all over Southern Ontario.
