DEVINE YOKE

So Elisha turned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen and slaughtered them and boiled their flesh, using the oxen’s equipment, and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he arose and followed Elijah, and became his servant. 1 Kings 19:21 New King James Version In an act of obedience and commitment Elisha slaughtered his cows (his livelihood) and used the yoke (his instrument used to work with) to build a fire and prepare a meal in front of everyone to prove his total commitment, there was no going back.

This is what Jesus was referring to when talking about looking back while plowing.

If you waste your time looking back you cannot see where Jesus is guiding you to. Joseph- Anthony: Green

Once you receive your calling there is no turning back. You may not need to make a public display of it like Elisha.

Trusting Jesus is a complete and total commitment to become His obedient servant and there is no going back to the old way of doing things.

Prayer: Please Jehovah bless me with the faith, wisdom and commitment to always keep my eyes on the path You have so wisely chosen for me to follow all the way to Heaven. I humbly request this in the name of He followed Your chosen path for Him all the way to the cross Jesus Christ. Amen

May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.

After faithfully serving the Lord in China for ten years as a teacher I have been called home to care for my aged mother who has numerous disabilities. As well I regularly do volunteer work visiting seniors in a seniors home. I love being in nature. I say the closer we get to nature the more we see Jehovah. We are blessed in this area with many amazing, easy to ride bicycle trails on old railroad lines that takes us all over Southern Ontario.

  1. A good post my friend. Once we accept our duties in Christ, we need to keep moving forward in them. At the same time, we must continue to work on ourselves in order to mature in Him so that we can continue to do His will.
