A closer walk with our beloved friend.

Sometimes I fall into the Sewer.

Look on my affliction and my pain, And forgive all my sins. Psalms 30:12  Psalm 25:18 New King James Version

Sometimes I fall into the sewer of sin. It is when I submit to temptation and get drunk.

Then Satan taunts me saying:” Look at you, you drunk. How can Jesus love such a loser as you?”

I am in tormenting agony with guilt and shame., because I have sinned against my beloved Jesus.

Jesus says “I love you unconditionally. When you repent, you are forgiven. We all have our weaknesses. That is why I sacrificed myself on the cross, to make you clean before God by my blood.”

A feeling of peace and joy dances in my heart. I sing songs of gratitude and love to Him.

Do not think I take my addiction lightly.

I fight it as hard as I can but sometimes the desire is more than I can bare even thought I fight it as hard as possible. By Gods grace, one day this wicked addiction shall be conquered.

Editors note One day while getting drunk I called out to Jesus :”Jesus, help me. This is too strong for me to fight and win. It is only by Your divine power that these chains will be smashed.” In that instant the desire was taken from me and for many years has never overtaken me again.

Whenever the temptation comes to me now I confidently exclaim “:Get away from me Satan. Jesus has conquered you and I belong to Him now. Come Holy Spirit and chase this filth from me.” and the desire is gone.

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Yeshua (God our deliverer) for rescuing me in the sewer of addiction so that You may use me in Your predestined service. I praise You in the name of he who cast out demons when he walked this earth Jesus Christ. Amen.

May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.

After faithfully serving the Lord in China for ten years as a teacher I have been called home to care for my aged mother who has numerous disabilities. As well I regularly do volunteer work visiting seniors in a seniors home. I love being in nature. I say the closer we get to nature the more we see Jehovah. We are blessed in this area with many amazing, easy to ride bicycle trails on old railroad lines that takes us all over Southern Ontario.

  1. I have had a similar experience as this, although it was not with alcohol, but a sin I fell to too often. I prayer the same prayer, and the desire for this sin eventually subsided. It took several years, several falls, and a lot of prayer, but the Lord came through when the time was right…

    • It took me a couple of decades before Jehovah smashed these chains. I thank Him for it every day

      • Usually, even though grace is immediate upon repentance and obedience, we will spend a lifetime learning to be the Christians we should be.

And in some cases, it takes us a while to even accept the gifts He freely gives..

      • And I believe we will still be learning in Heaven. As for accepting His free gifts that may be hard for anyone that was raided in an abusive home to come to grips with

      • Aw but remember…we would then be in heaven in a new body and mind glorified by God through Christ Jesus.

We will no longer be human and subject to the limits of our humanity. We’ll be ever more grateful and accepting of the awesome God we now will live with forever…

      • 🙂

  2. So glad to hear it, brother!
