Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 New King James Version
In my walk with the Lord one of the most difficult things to do was to trust in the Lord.
So many times He has called upon me to go places I did not want to go to and to do things I thought He was crazy for asking me to do.
On the flip side of the coin, when reflecting upon it I am so glad that I was an obedient child because there was so much accomplished in this act of obedience.
I think back to when He called me to be a tree planter or when He called me to go serve Him in Asia and thought there was no way I could ever succeed but it was through obedience and faith that we succeeded.
Every time I depended upon my own way of thinking it always ended in disaster.
Do you notice the last part of this passage?
He shall direct your paths.
Do not think that Jehovah has only one path for you to follow. There are different times in your life where He will move you from one path to another.
He has directed me on four so far. Each path was preparing me for the next. So while I was serving my Beloved on one path He was teaching me and preparing me to serve Him on the next path He had prepared for me to take.
“The point of having an open mind, like having an open mouth, is to close it on something solid.” — G. K. Chesterton
Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Rohi (The Lord is my Sheppard) for guiding this sheep of Your divine flock on the many paths You have chosen for me to travel in the course of my service to You. Many times it has been difficult to trust You but always rewarding to do so once the journey, no matter how challenging, begun until its completion. I praise You in the name of He who followed Your preordained path all the way to the cross Jesus Christ. Amen.
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day
