Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.1 Timothy 6:17 New King James Version
To be haughty means to be snobs.
Now we need not be wealthy to be haughty.
How do you behave towards those on low income?
Just because they are working at a minimum wage job and you are handsomely paid does not give you the right to look down on them. Indeed you are to use your wealth to help those who are needy, that does not mean you are to blindly give. Let those who want to eat work. That is what it says in the Bible and I agree.
You are not to trust in your lofty situation either. It can be taken from you in the blink of an eye and soon you will be sitting next to the “bum” you were looking down at in the soup kitchen.
I have experienced both sides of the coin. It was a difficult process which took many years but the best thing I have learned is to trust in Jehovah. As long as we are doing His will with our lives, He will always take care of us. I speak from personal experience.
The foolish trust in their bank accounts while the wise trust in Jehovah. Joseph- Anthony: Green.
Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Abba (God my Father) for so generously taking care of Your adoring child. Thank you for teaching me not to be haughty or to trust in foolish material wealth. Rather, You have blessed me to understand and believe that You, my loving Father, will always take good care of me. I exalt You in the name of He who You always took care of as He walked amongst us Jesus Christ Amen.
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
