The Living Waters

A Delicate Cantonese beauty

The  Lord, the fountain of living waters. Jeremiah 17:13 King James Version

I believe the living waters referred to here is spiritual.

I have seen natural springs in the mountains. After a long hard hike on a hot day those fountains really refresh the body. They are full of minerals and always cool and refreshing.

So too it is with Jehovahs living waters.

They nourish our spirits with wisdom and build us up spiritually. They cool our minds and spirits in times of tribulation, sorrow and during trying times.

Another thing is that just beside the spring is a pool.

Again after a long hard hike on a hot day it feels so good to jump in and have the dirt and sweat washed from the body.

It is the same thing with Jehovahs living waters.

They will wash us of worry, anguish, and anger. Just as coming out of the springs you feel refreshed and the cleanest you have ever felt so too it is when we wash ourselves with Jehovahs living waters.

Finally the hiking clothes are washed in the spring and when you put them on it is the cleanest the clothes every felt on you.

The same way Jehovahs living waters leave you feeling clean when you wash your spirit in it.

Of course we all know that the living waters referred to here is the Holy Spirit.

Just as with the mountain spring you have to take action to reap the benefits so too is it required of you to take action with the Holy Spirit. When He guides you to take action you must do so.

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Jireh (the Lord our provider) for blessing me with a never ending spring of spiritual water that brings life to my spirit. I extol you in the name of He who made it all possible Jesus Christ. Amen.

May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.

After faithfully serving the Lord in China for ten years as a teacher I have been called home to care for my aged mother who has numerous disabilities. As well I regularly do volunteer work visiting seniors in a seniors home. I love being in nature. I say the closer we get to nature the more we see Jehovah. We are blessed in this area with many amazing, easy to ride bicycle trails on old railroad lines that takes us all over Southern Ontario.
